I just got to thinking how game changing this will be for people with a Novation Circuit... assigning those eight macro knobs to dials, tuning the ranges etc etc and being able to sequence/play it... dayum! I mean, plug an ipad mini or iphone right into it with one cable. CROM!

    How about a Timeline.. (edit)....With Automation... ?

I think KRFT is designed as the antithesis of timelines so I'm gonna say nay to that. Recordable automation would be great though.

Midi out into a DAW will be great.

  • Recording automation (if we're voting), but not before a few more basic tools for moving things on the piano roll... :)

  • You guys are gonna have to fight it out to convince us which features to do first

    Baby in the corner. Nobody.

Perhaps a virtual public meeting or 'forum' with some sort of polling mechanism....

I think you'll have to come round and sort mine out for me. Tacos on us.

    Yum OK!

    Holy wow. Genius!!

  • Dunno about you guys, but when after creating a new surface and your playing out some ideas on the keyboard of your first cell, and you hit record with the metrenome on, I would love to have access to the tempo from that very page, even if it's not tap tempo.

Also, the idea of a timeline sounds very frightening to me, and reading that comment suggestion has caused me anxiety ;-)

I agree with all of this. As for what first @Alex fox ..., midi out obviously

  • ^ Indeed. Midi out

Yeah, it's on the list.. somewhere. Hopefully it'll get implemented at some point!

  • Movable loop start and end markers. If those could also be controlled by dials to move the loop length or position from the playing surface that would be badass. Also if you could crop the clips...

  • If I don't post for a while is cause I'm having way tooo much fun enjoying everyone's Surfaces! o:) <3

How do you remove unused 'channels' in the mixer.. Seems to load a bass, drum and lead channel by default in a new (clean) surface..

For example, the 'Drumma (demo)' set has only one active drum channel.. but there are 3 other channels present in the mixer, lead, bass and six..
For the sake of keeping things organized, how do you remove unused channels?

Edit... or am I missing something?

    Not currently a feature! Sorry.

  • So now I find myself tapping the dials on my other synth apps to return them to the default value.

That would actually be a great feature for any synth app. Tap the dial and it returns to the preset value.

There are some synths that have this feature. I can't think of which ones off the top of my head ... but I'm sure there's at least 2 or 3.

  • Does this app rank in the Pantheon already? What is it that is so compelling? Can you put your finger on it?

It walks in the door at least based on the dev's willingness to milk the users for every drop of research/feedback he can get (and I mean that very positively...)

  • Does this have similarities to the 'PlayGround' App but with user generated content?
(If so I can't wait to try it with MIDI out <3)

I might amongst the few people on the planet who would like this but could MIDI clock input also be considered for synchronisation if not yet available?

Yah would be lovely if it could work in Cubasis like Gadget does, recieving cubasis midi clock.

Huh, well if I have them I will be happy to stumble on them.

Agree w/ this. Would love to be able to do multiple automation passes.

  • Just playing around with Egoist, Turnado and Effectrix... with all of their 'midi learn-ability' it ahould be getting really interesting soon. :)

Features, design, originality, usability and probably the most responsive and helpful dev I've ever seen - and one that hasn't disappeared a week after release.

    Top app, top dev.

    Top app, top dev.

It takes composition, modulation and performance of multiple instruments and then spits guzzalene into the intake.

Once it gets midi out Planet Music gives birth to a new lifeform.

Some of the shared surfaces are so good--and I'm learning a bunch of new techniques by looking under the hood. Knocked it out of the park with this release, @Alex fox!

  • Okay ok I bought it, tommorow I play! Gonna see how it can handle my vocal sampling beatboxing weirdnez

Ok, seems like the consensus is, 'no timeline'... thank you very much..

Well, looking at what is in store for KRFT 1.5.. and the great surfaces on the network (mainly midi surfaces) who really needs a timeline (for now)..

Import midi into FL Studio.. has all the timeline to do editing in there
