One of the important features of this app in comparison with the other equally capable apps that it has been compared with, is not one of sonic capability. DRC, Odyssei, Sunrizer, Poison-202, and a bunch of other equals, are all very good very synth-y and generally very performance oriented apps. The sonic capabilities or sound design capabilities - they're all fairly equal in general. However, I'd consider the support.

This is an app that has excellent support in a really tight responsive loop. Poison to an extent qualifies too. Some others not so much (Korg?). I often find using an app that came from a manufacturer that has just said something pertinent on a user-feedback channel (such as this) makes me feel a bit 'closer' to the app than if it were an anonymous commodity.

I've said it before and I will say it again, I really like supporting the responsive devs who listen to the feedback from the people who are at the "cutting edge" of this stuff.

I was Oscilabbing it up earlier and modulating with great, and mostly talent-free, results.

DRC is a keeper, way too much character to discard.

  • @sinosoidal Drc doesn't want to receive midi from midiLFOs in Audiobus 3 either for me. But if I use midiLFOs outside of Audiobus and send to Drc port it works. So it seems like DRC has problems with some ports when used in Audiobus 3 currently.

very Very VERY BEAUTIFUL!! Thanks for posting..must get this synth immediately

Thx man you're too kind :) I'm sure you'll love it. The way this thing saturates in the mixer is something special. And the versatile sub oscillator almost turns it into a 3 Osc...

Thx man i'll post a Boards of Canada style patch later, that i'm sure you'll appreciate!

This synth is totally insane. I just made a string patch that doesn't sound like anything else on iOS (except the ROMplers of course) This synth is full of sweet spots that have to be discovered and explored. I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EARS!!!

That sounds lovely. Post some screen shots of the settings so we can replicate?

  • Yesterday o spent some quality time with this awesome Synth and was coming up with out of this world sounds! Don't know how or what bit I just moved this and that and wow!!!

Character is the perfect word for this. DRC has it in spades!

Thx so much, i think i'm gonna do a whole pack of sounds in this "I can't believe..." theme and upload them somewhere...

Yep it's full of sweet spots. As soon as you hit them it zones you out lol

  • @hexagonsun83 that would be splendid!

  • Yes, very nice strings. DRC is great for this (....not as great as TF8 :p )

  • This is so awesome that this Synth is universal! What a deal the price is soooo cheap for all the amazing warmth and tones one can get. The reverb is amazing for a synth!

Thx guys, glad you all like it. Sometimes i get a little carried away and extra enthusiastic when playing with "new" stuff/apps, and i have to ask myself, is the app really that good? But yea, i think it is :)

Its sounds great and reminds me of crystalline fx.

  • I took everybody's advice and downloaded it yesterday and it is a great sounding synth to be sure. Easy to use and sounds pretty unique. I'm going to be able to use this for sure. Sweet.

  • Anyone know where we can find some interesting patches for DRC?

  • Gotta make them but soon two new awesome packs are going to be available!! Incredible the amount of sound potential in this beauty!

Wonderful to see that we're getting the word out! This is a grassroots synth campaign...enjoy! :)

This app is indicative of the future. Cross platform, cloud preset syncing, modern, flexible UI. But most importantly it just sounds so damn good. It's easy to learn, but with so much depth...

  • Definitely most underrated synth app out there right now. Has really rich tone (if you like imini, isem, photophore you will definitely like this)

  • Really hoping it gets the AUx treatment for multiple instances in Cubasis, AB3 or AUM.

    That'd be dreamy.

  • But watch out if you turn of the damp completly and turn the decay full on in the reverb.....it will blow your ears.
This synth can get out of control :#
    Some good FX too.

While i used it now more i also must say that this seems to fly under the radar. It´s for sure one of the best synths for iOS.
I never used it much because it was "too" cheap. I bought it on a sale for 2.99 or even 1.99 i think and just bought it without thinking about it.
Now i realize what a gem this is and at the same time i have this psychological border to buy the plug-in for so much more. Strange is that i had bought it for sure as plug-in for the price if i not had the iOS version and it wouldn´t fly so deep under the radar.
It can sounds really agressive and full. I like the GUI (especially the day version) and little things like let me change the color theme.
This is a case for me where i can say "it is way too cheap".
Maybe that´s the problem here. I thought it´s so cheap that it can´t be that good. I was wrong.
Great synth! Not sure if that was a smart marketing since i just can´t get around to pay so much more for the plug-in now (i have considered it if the app costs 20 or so). Or at least i wish they had not just port a multi-touch app. There are some things missing in the plug-in like mouse wheel/two finger trackpad scroll support (which works much better for fine editing like my finger on a touch screen), hiding and resizing the GUI etc.
Beside i get all the great DAW integration like automation parameters i would say in this case the iOS version is the better one and that for this price. Yeah, too cheap! ;)
    Strange times......

  • ...and another vote for AUV3 on this one. Just for fun i made a (simple) 2 OSC patch with the plugin, copied it 3 times and transposed 3 of the instances to trigger them as chord. Then i copied the 4 synth chord several times again and transposed the octave etc.
I must say i´m very impressed that i could run about 50 instances in realtime (and there was still a lot headroom in the cpu) without a hickup.
My macbook pro is not the most powerful thing these days so i think the newer iOS devices should have no problem to run several instances of this as AUv3.
It must be low on cpu and/or is really greatly optimized!
So maybe i should just support the developers and buy the plug-in.....(but must wait for next paycheck).
Thank´s for open my eyes to this great synth. Really underrated.

  • Anyone knows if it´s possible to create custom folders for third party patch banks with the plug-in?

  • Yes definitely a top notch synth. I hope it will get the option to save and load different midi mappings, would be so useful. Also having an overlay display of all the mapping numbers when you toggle a button would also be a good thing as I find midi mapping on iOS frustrating in most apps. Apesoft and Moog are developers to follow in this area :)

How is cloud preset sharing enabled? When I open on my iPhone the presets on my iPad aren't shared.

Look forward to the new patch banks :)

the presets are shared between my desktop plugin and my ipad. so not sure why it isnt working for you.

So just after one day trying it (and using it really on my iPhone too) it goes straight to my Top 5 synths (including all i have iOS or desktop plug-ins).
It even could raise up if some things could be added.
I think at least it´s my new Nr.1 iOS synth yet (it even disturbs me from playing with Mitosynth) and if i learned it a bit more i will do some patches for this too....if i find out how to create custom folders.
It seems i only can store patches in the local folder.
How the hell could i miss this.
I even started an own KVR thread now since it is rare that there in no thread for a new synth. It must have been flight really really deep under the radar yet.
Call me already a fan now of Imaginando!
I would go so far that this might be one of the most versatile synth compared to the parameters you have.
    Thank´s @RustiK for this thread!

Ok maybe it's only shared between desktop and iOS and not iOS to iOS?

  • That one is damn hard. It took me a while to get the Organ to "sing". You can do crazy organ sounds on this! The right patch for a sunday :) @MusicMan4Christ

Excellent patch fantastic sounding organ! I have to wait to get an itunes card before I get DRC.

@sinosoidal i got a question. how do i back up my presets ? I prefer to back up my custom made presets offline but all i see is cloud saving. talking about the windows VST.

We need to add that feature. It's an old request and after doing some two extra banks, I would say it is a very important feature. What you guys are expecting as users?

    • Import/Export a single patch as a file?
    • Import/Export bank as a file?
    • ...

Please share your thoughts and needs so we can have a better idea of what is needed.

    I would say both!
And it is very very important i think if you want to increase sales, also to sound designers (since i already saw some complaints about the patch saving things).
Best would be if you let us create own folders instead of that everything has to go into the local folder.
