I had high hopes for iOS 10 and nothing happened except background fixes.

That's funny. "Nothing happened except background fixes" would be my dream iOS 11 update.

    Yup.

  • I'd like to see enhancements to AUv3:
    a) larger canvas option
    b) MIDI out to host.

Support for external media would be nice too

  • You know, with the right combination of beverages, I could just stare at that frickin' cat all night

  • Garage band will finally get AB out, and Alchemy will get released as a standalone AU synth!
    (One can dream, right?)

Yeah, the size on Beathawk as an example as a AUv3 is a joke, even on my big iPad Pro!
Lucky there to have the Apple Pencil option to control the fiddly little UI-area...

  • Hopefully iOS 11 will not slow down older devices. Bugs always get fixed but performance never.

  • Miraculously works on my old iPad 2, and makes it as fast as it was when I bought it (which wasn't super fast, let's face it).

I can't stop looking at it, and I'm sober now.

Yes, unfortunately I've lost 3 Apple Pencils. So I've banned myself from them :# But they are awesome in the piano roll

Yup, I lost two in hotels while traveling..white pencil on white sheets easy to miss. And one at a Diner using iPad Pro at breakfast. I mean It's like a real pencil, easy to leave around. Probably best to keep them at home

Don't get one of these, then. They're also a bit on the expensive side.

  • I think we've already benefited from iOS 11 as iOS 10.3 and the new file system freed up more space on our devices in preparation for iOS 11.

It's my hope the integration of apps with each other and the outside world will be improved (as @Samu suggested) as more powerful devices push the capabilities of iOS devices beyond the media player and isolated app usage paradigm within which iOS was created so it'd make sense for iOS 11 to reflect this shift. The lowest common denominator for new apps will be devices with 64 bit processors so the gap between the most powerful and least powerful devices will be less than before which should make app development more straight forward.

The 64 bit weeding out of old apps would also be a good time to improve the functionality of the App Store. It will also clarify which developers are able to commit to iOS for the longer term. The end result should be users will have a clearer idea of which apps to support based upon whose developing them.

It's my understanding that Apple is trying to make the app update process less taxing on developers, we'll see.

If Apple doesn't provide improvements to iOS to move beyond the sandbox and media player paradigm, people will have little interest in buying new devices which don't do anything significantly different than their current ones.

The final realisation that BM3 is not released yet because it has been bought and is replacing Garage Band !!!

Nothing can replace Garage Band on iOS.
Alone the smart instruments are better than most iOS DAW's virtual keyboards from the last century :p

  • A finder for iOS would be great.
If iOS finally offer a (beginning) of a proper file management, call me interested.
However, nice trick to hype the keynote. Do we think really those leaks are a mistake?

There is no need to hype the keynote
all the idiots watch it and then complain that it's not about hardware :D
It's one of the largest streaming events. ;)

    a searchable folder for files
    Who wouldn't be interested?

Let's see what Craig has to say this evening. :)

Not sure if this will not about hardware this time too.
But beside faster cpu and more RAM i think that the software is the thing which needs much improvements.
Especially an iPad Pro should finally be a focus as serious device for content creators.
I still hope that it will attract more developers too.
I still wait for an own pro apps app store category to finally left the "10 dollar is too expensive for an app" thinking and leave that to the consumers who are not interested in this kind of tools.

Completely with you on this one. A Pro Appstore is the thing that's needed to make a convincing statement for the "Post PC" claims.

As a way in to more Pro software I wish Affinity finally show us both Designer and Photo tonight!
