@studs1966, great track! The vocal, is it sampled, or did you have a singer working with you? It's ready for commercial release, your track: I cannot find a single flaw, to my taste. Congrats, and keep it up!

Thanks mate. ;) ....... No, all my vocals in my tracks are acapella's. I'd love someone to sing on my tracks, even if I sent them the instrumental version. Save me warping & retuning the Wav file by hand.

Hey, I just had thought?......... Maybe, if someone could sing here on this forum, then maybe they could send me there acapella, & I'll try to put it on one of my tracks?....... As long as it's around 120 - 126 BPM........ Knowing the Key they sing in would be a bonus....... just an idea mind......

  • @Love3quency Some nice sounds going on, could certainly nod off to it (in a good way). Again, I prefer a 3 minute song, but there's a time and a place for this. Add visuals maybe?

  • @JohnnyGoodyear Great wistful piece! Love the downbeat vocals and is it a double bass? What did you use for it?
Visuals are top notch again, is there a correlation with the current president and his possible impeachment?
    Good stuff :)

  • @theconnactic I really like the improvised percussion - especially the bunch of keys. Might have to nick that idea! Good feel to the piece, sounded like something from the 1960's.
A couple of things concerned me though. Is there a filing system in place for that pile of papers? Also, I was worried about you tapping a glass of water around near electrical equipment.
But apart from that, I really enjoyed it!

Thanks for your thoughts . Lyrics were written the day Mister Comey was let go. Bass is one of the acoustics from Gadget's Madrid gently tweaked in AP.

  • @JohnnyGoodyear You are sounding wonderfully crisp and clear on this mate & the tricks you display on your vocal work brilliantly. Your visual skills are just brilliant aswell and on this track help the listening experience, because, for me, I wanted the song to kinda go more places. I'm not sure if it would hold my interest enough melodically if I was just listening to it. Sorry man, u know I mean that with respect, I'm just a sucker for a chorus is all. :)

  • @JohnnyGoodyear .. poisoned peach ..
Delicious ache for treacherous times .. perfect peach pith.
The vid is icing on the cobbler .. drowning neath the screen .. nails it !

  • @theconnactic ... funky dervish party.. great riddem..them keys are just perfecto !

  • @studs1966 .... two words for that sunny splendour... De Lish

    Thanks for listening

I think ambient is supposed to be long, not short like normal music. It's also background music too and definitely sleepy!

  • Mostly done in Gadget cos it's quick, then into Auria for dodgy vocal. I realise I have no knowledge of how to apply reverb or delay. Less is more I think. Many thanks for listening.

  • @theconnactic love the improvised keys and cups with eyes closed it sounds just like anything else.. I like how its different , the melody is unique at least to me it is and unpredictable.. I would have liked to hear a little more rhythmic sounds or percussion I mean. And I feel the bass maybe lacked the rumble or boom. Then again it might be a style . anyways I did like it

  • @crouchie Reminded me, stylistically at least, of Sweet Harmony by The Beloved. Didn't have a problem with the reverb as such - but I do think the vox could come up a bit.
For me personally, it could also do with a hook or two. It's a good laid back track though.
I find Gadget difficult to work with, but that's probably to do with using other sequencers in the past. It's very good for its sounds mind you!

Many thanks. I struggle with vocal levels on my stuff. Can't stand my voice most of the time :-). Used to like some of the Beloved's stuff. My vocals tend to be lower these days cos I have to record them when the kids are asleep. Too self conscious to belt them out nowadays!

  • @theconnactic My God man!!! I was mesmerised the entire time! U get a big round of applause from me for this. It's a creative masterpiece imho! :) I love how you used the glasses and the keys. Sooo cool and quite inspiring considering how good it all sounds.
    Fantastic stuff man!! Bravo! B)

  • @studs1966 : love it! Perfect. Could imagine Incognito playing it live on tour. I have nothing to post this month.
Still working on it. Too little time because of work and many Live- Gigs. Keep on grooving!

  • @crouchie Late and dark in the middle of a Spanish olive grove, headphones, can only find my way because the old trees run in perfect lines. Odd to think where we listen to music and how the location informs/ruins/blesses the noise in question.

Hot here, the wind is a warm flannel. The bass and bongos are my footsteps. Completely sober but tripping a little. Liked it a lot. Didn't need anything more than the flow.

  • I dunno if devs are allowed to post their songs in here ;) but here we go:

I used KRFT + sending one channel to GeoShred for the guitar. I also recorded a video of the performance:

    Looking forward to feedback :)

  • @Alex fox this is really great! I Love it a LOT

Hey, @LostBoy85, another very good, catchy song, a potential hit. A folk-pop tune, nicely done. About the guitar, it's just session band? I'm impressed: really sounds like the real thing. The vocal work is impeccable, as always. Congrats!

  • The vocals are a little buried in the mix, @crouchie, but you know what?, it seemed appropriate for the song. The reverb/delay actually helped to get the feeling right. Sting has a great voice, and it was not uncommon for his vocals to be buried in many The Police's mixes, and again it sounded cool and suited their particular sound. The books says it's wrong, but thinking outside the box can help creativity a lot. Thumbs up!

  • @LostBoy85 Title, one of the original strains Leo, much like your good self. The prototypical silvery voice. Connected to your story and sure others have or will and the question that you pose: 'Is it worth the prize,' is answered in your song. This balancing of main and harmonies knowledge you share.... so main vox top middle, harmony at ten past two. Have you always adopted this practice, or is it song dependent. Because you've asked, thinking at 1.08 'Nor - thern - lights' could be highlighted with the bell of a cymbal on the on or off, followed by light percussion in the verse. Bass joining the party further down the line? But, there is no pressing need to 'rhythm it up.' Vocals glide gently above your real guitar work, harmoniously remaining within embracing distance to pilot your pure song.
Mellifluous. Try saying that with a gram of Northern Lights inside your lungs. :) A hit.

  • @trackedout You're a twister. You twist, bend, kink but never snap the spinal chord. Travel as far as you can to the outer extremities of any song you create and that is inspiring. Keep this simple and ask three questions.

    1. Why haven't you signed a record deal?

    2. How much did you insure your larynx for? It wasn't enough.

    3. Is everyone else in California on holiday or dead?

You have enough mental material to vinyl-ize a couple of double albums. This one starts your third. Unreal gear. :)

  • @studs1966 Ok geez, we've seen the seductive shades, the perfect pecs and now burnt biceps..... where's the Sleaford Mods? (quads). Happiness is the emotion forever gushing inside your stuff and yet another summer sensation you've lined up. Been reading that everyone apart from EMI are after you and your music so well done you.

Three years I've been begging... THREE YEARS! How much do you want then to mix it up with a selection of distasteful, fierce, sordid.... but sarcastic acapellas in your club? Copyright?..... Sleafords?..... Nah.

Got me dancing in the sun. Jobs a good one. :)
