Yeah, the snap can be zero, grid and 'free'....

  • not the grid, talking about the sample editing /trim.... goes down to the zero cross point?

When you move the handles in the sample editor they can snap to zero(cross point), to the grid (currently 1/8) or to the sample for sample accurate editing.

Hehe, I'm a 'Tracker Addict'(Renoise) and a lot of the suggestions i've sent are heavily influenced by Renoise :)

I'm just waiting for modulation of 'Sample Start' so I can mess around with the samples in similar spirit to the 9xx/Oxx commands in trackers ;)

  • thanks again.... samu

Renoise is another long awaited for the iPad, even more so than ableton can you imagine..
    I'm getting misty eyed

I'd be super happy with Renoise ReDux on iOS as an AUv3 ;)
(It's essentially the 'sampler part' from Renoise with the Phrase Sequencer included).

that's worth an email or two to the dev right there!

  • I've heard but they didn't want to beef up the sampling abilities or do allot of stuff that in the end they did.... what about when every computer is a mobile, they'll have to comply. on the other hand I wonder how it runs on an surface

Renoise will never go mobile, the developers have said as such, a lot of times.

    That's what I've heard too...
It's too much 'custom code' in the app so they already have trouble keeping all the 3 platforms 'in sync' (Windows, Mac & Linux).

You should be getting your sample libraries ready for transfer ;)

What's the best and quickest way of doing this, and is there any way of using iMaschine or native instrument maschine studio samples in bm3?

With Machine the fastest way, sad to say, will be to manually record each sample. The positive side to this however is that you will be able to record each bank as one recording and then chop it to the pads, so you can get it done in a fairly reasonable amount of time, maybe a day or two. Kind of what planning to do with Machine, BM2 and various other drum machine apps I own but don't really use. BM3 takes the sting out of Isequence not getting updated considerably.

    Thanks

@triton100 I'm not sure if this was already mentioned, but there is an easier way to get the Maschine samples to BM3. I'm on Windows, I'm not sure where the folder is on a mac, but if you look in Users\Public\Documents\ (samplepackname)\Samples, and you'll find all the samples by category and in wav format.
This is only for the sample packs not for Kontakt, etc

actually this makes no sense... disregard

  • Sample start is great for making percussion noises sound more natural in a sequence. With a random LFO modulating a small part of the start position it makes each sound slightly different.

Yepp, That's one of the reasons I requested this early on and I'm happy it's in the pipe for future update already among other things.

    +a billion

@kobamoto (sent that Redux-for-iOS wish email a couple weeks back, no reply. Another member here sent the email requesting Renoise itself and got a "no dice" reply right away. Maybe no reply on the Redux request is a good sign.)

Hmm of course. They're all wav samples. For some reason I thought maschine files were in an nki format or something like that. But maybe that's just for the projects. Not sure

well what i did was in maschine studio mark all the kits you want as favorites. Then make a project and place a note at the beginning of each of the pads. So 16 notes all at the beginning of the project. Mix down project in multiple stems. When the samples are saved theay are saved as one shots in a folder. Dont delete the project yet. Replace the sound kit with another fav and repeat the process. Make sure you name each folder to so that you know the difference from kit to kit. Its really fast once you get it

Either really as I have expansion packs on both iOS and desktop.

ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA DON'T QUOTE ME.

Scheduled for 15th, presume it's in the Apple Hopper ready to be spat out etc., but then if their spitter-outer is in Cupertino that would west coast time etc etc. and who knows how that works their end anyways. I would bet that in old money it will be out tomorrow. :)

I hear you. I just transferred all of my favorite expansion packs directly to BM2 so that they are in their correct folders labeled as loops, one shots, drums, etc. Made life easy for me.

What I did was grabbed all the sounds from
    D:\Users\Public\Documents\Amplified Funk Library\Samples\Drums
then I used this batch creator to make all the kits for me. Then I opened them up in BM# and resave them as BMK3 files

  • Hmmm , I was expecting more features on sampling (auto-next , midi/key trigger , auto fade in/out&normalize)
Plus a polyphonic legato aka VP9000 hardware (no other software app can do it)
