nice track. how do i get me some drums like that? can you give me some tips on how you do your percussion? i've never bothered with percussion with my acoustic or synth stuff. got bm3 to give it a go because it really lifts things up. cheers.

    I recommend this book:

  • thanks @cian . i've had a squizz on amazon here in uk and it's £36!! i've already got a book on programming drum machine stuff. too lazy to read it tho. was wondering how it was constructed- one shot hits or slicing up imported grooves or whatnot. my bag's melody and bass. been chopping some imported beats from blocs. just a learning curve, i suppose :)

  • Hey! Pardon if this was covered already but I still can't find the answer...

With respect to Midi Control Mapping AUs:
Does BM3 facilitate midi mapping for AU instruments? In the Settings > Midi > Focus Action Editor settings, there seems to be none.

In AUM the software detects the AU instrument and its parameters, and allows you to map your controller’s knob/fader/button directly to the AU’s parameter. Is there a similar option in BM3, am I missing something?

My current workaround is mapping my AU parameter to a macro, and then the macro to my Midi Controller via the Focus Action Editor.

Does anyone else have any issues deleting samples? Press delete but they remain for me.

If they are used in an open session, you have to close the session before delete is enabled.

Ah thanks, this even seems to include samples you've already removed from the timeline and aren't in use any more. Hope they change that behaviour.

It needs more than just that, it needs greatly improved sample tracking and management. As it is, you can delete samples that are still in use in other projects, renaming or moving samples breaks anything they're used in. They badly need to implement a way of internally identifying the samples uniquely, independent of name and location. They also need to enforce checks that won't let you delete a sample in use anywhere. Basically, the features that Blocs Wave has for this.

There is a feature request on the Intua Forums on this topic.

Edit.... And IOS 11 will make it shine even more...

    How so?

Since a new feature of iOS 11 is better file sharing between apps, it would facilitate sampling with BM3.

  • So far the only mentions of how iOS 11 will really "make BM3 shine" aren't directly related to BM3 itself, and to me aren't that dramatic. AUv3 full screen (over time as devs adapt, which I doubt will be that fast), and the Files app, which is admittedly a better way to do what AudioShare already does just fine, but I can't see as dramatic in relation to BM3.

Sorry, just my hype-o-meter going off. Ignore me. I will desist.

Here is a post on things....well ..here..

I think just the files app thing is major...

First, thx so much for Listening, and the nice words.

Many samples have I even recorded and these imported in BM3. Various percussion in different banks loaded and programmed the beat. So actually nothing special. Distribute a few FX via the individual drum tracks and you're done.

Then checked whether all good room has and/or few edited pattern with FuzzPlus 3 from audio damage. Generally I can recommend real audio Damage!

I gotta know what Midi controllers the beta testers are rocking with this lovely lady. I'm eyeing quneo, mpd218 , beatstep pro... any I'm missing that would be tres fresh??

Does you mpd218 need a powered hub? does it work in a low power mode like my mpk249? My mpk249 does not allow me yo use it in low power mode and a use hub , powered or not. So i have to use the 5din midi in order to get it to work and DC power. But it lights up lol. Does the mpd218 have this limitation?. Are you using more than one controller at once with beatmaker 3?

  • Not sure if it is mentioned but it would be nice to be able to save Aux channels like you can banks with all the effects inside.

itvwould also be great to be able to copy n paste effects from pad tompad or bank to bank

  • This is almost a year old thread , no point on further discussion :)
Also BeatMaker forum seems ideal for help, bugs , feature requests ;)

  • better than starting a new thread. who cares how old the thread is, and who are you to determine what can be further discussed? i went to the intua forum first, btw.

    feel free to further discuss

  • Happy Birthday BM3!

  • Amazing it’s been one year and they still have not fixed the missing automation parameters which was pointed out as a bug shortly after release. Want to automate the Moog filter frequency, sorry you’re out of luck.
It’s supposed to be fixed in the mythical major update whenever that arrives.
