  • Audioshare is not in this update but I'll add it to the list.

That is awesome! With support like that, its worth twice as much.

But wait, just how long is the "List"

Just kidding. Very cool app, thank you.

To anyone that hasn't got this yet, don't wait just get it. If for nothing more than the preloaded goat sounds.

  • The list:

The 3.0.0 update has really been about the sound engine (polishing features I've added over the last couple years, improving audio quality, adding effects and automation), graphics, and iOS11 compatibility. It's long overdue and sure to delight. I'm really excited y'all are going to get this.

Admittedly, 3rd party IO and sync stuff took a backseat due to the time crunch around iOS11.

Link is the next thing I'm doing (shipping that in a week or so along with small tweaks based on the 3.0.0 feedback).

Universal compatibility, a few more voice parameters, and mature MIDI implementation are the highest priorities after that. The phone version has been dropped and I don't want to leave those users stranded for too long.

Then on to the expanded sequencer features that people have been requesting for a while. Some sort of euclidian rhythm / multiple time-scales. This one I'm really excited for.

AudioShare should fit in there somewhere easily. Seems like an evening's worth of work or less.

    Looking beyond that?

    Hardware version... I wish!

How is the midi notes button supposed to work? I checked the online manual but am still not clear on how it should be utilized. A bit of clarification please? :)

Also, will I be able to load WerkBench into to fx slot in AUM after the update to feed it synths? I'm doing that now in AB2 but wondering if AUM fx slot will be possible after update?

  • @KarlBolasol FYI: AB2 transport controls (is that what the little AB2 side tabs are called?) aren't working. iPad 10.5 iOS10.3.3

Also, those in the know have kept this gem a very good secret. For shame! ;) I can't believe I'm just discovering this splendid and fun app. Such a blast!

When 'MIDI Notes' is on, each step in the 8 banks can be triggered by incoming MIDI notes mapped by #s 0-127

I have not implemented anything other than AudioBus3 yet in terms of inter-app audio, AUv3 and whatnot.

If it's any consolation, having already bought it & getting yesterday's price, I can honestly say it's definitely worth $10. REALLY a blast and VERY easy to get some cool stuff going quickly.

Oh, I still had to picked it up don't get me wrong.

Is it going to get AudioShare compatibility? I can make it work with general pasteboard but AudioShare would be cool.

Audioshare is not in this update but I'll add it to the list.

have to add my support to this request, this ones very important indeed.

Hmmm... Can't seem to get any midi notes to trigger anything. Can you or anyone else describe specifically how that might be set up?

Also, are you saying that transport controls for AB2 aren't supported? Or, perhaps they si ply aren't working for the 10.5 in display?

Can't confirm about the transport controls. If they are missing I'll fix that real quick this week.

They show but don't respond. WerkBench 2 though. Haven't seen the update yet.

I can't wait to take it out to the goat barn.

No goats but plenty of cockatoos (some hand fed), chickens, dogs, horses, kookaburras and various other bits of charactistically loud Australian wildlife here.

Going to have a field day sampling that lot.

Add the ride on mower and chainsaw into the mix too.

Plans for future development sound good.

I'm going to have to aren't I? I would be rude not to.

    Are Crocodile Dundee samples allowed?

    "You call that a knife?"

To me, THIS is the video:

That's probably the best tutorial video I've ever seen. Learnt so much in such a short space of time.

Euclidean rhythms are easy enough to enter into a sequencer myself. What irks me is when sequencers assume that every loop is in 4/4. Polyrhythmic loops break through those limitations, whereas Euclidean rhythms are just a small programming time-saver.

  • Hello @KarlBolasol

I've owned your wonderful app for many years and never really understood it, or how to use it. It was one of the early music apps I bought and it was really above my head at the time. Then I let it gather dust.

However after reading this thread and watching the videos this evening. Then having a 10 minute session... wow!!!

The workflow (as someone said) is amazing.
The simple 'threshold' on recording in is genius. As is the scale lock on transposing.

I now have big plans on getting some good use out of my Volca keys, kids toys, PO drum machine and various other things with Werkbench. It's just so immediate and perfect for live use. I'm thinking about maybe a live session synced to my (under-used Novation circuit).

Looking forward to the update too.

Really impressive. About two weeks of work for me in that ten minutes...

  • @fjblanco
    Loved that clip.
Watched it a few times before
    Great seeing it again
    Looking forward to this release
Funny how a skin can change a perspective

  • Just two more things as I look at the image in the OP, and they are really just personal preference things and have no real impact on the app.

    1. Less purple or pink or pinky-purple you know that 255 0 255 color (being an interface designer, this color is just weird to me) I like the idea of being able to change the color scheme as well.

    2. An updated icon maybe?

Ok, I'll stop now. I'm just having to damn much fun with this.

I know what your thinking now because I have been there "Well why don't I just remake the whole damn thing you picky ass". Sorry, just my OCD.

Now everyone go buy this and support this guy! IT IS BRILLIANT, JUST BRILLIANT!

  • edited September 2017

2 things I thought of as well. Colour options and clean crispy modern? icon change. Icon with vertical divided (half) dots representing a/b steps?

Also...is there a step probability setting? If no might be cool to have this in there controlled by step knobs.

  • I missed the special price boat. Was getting iTunes card was gonna get two apps but might have to decide which now.

It's a lovely feeling when you're own wish list priorities align with the developer's!

Would love to see remote transpose over midi. And/or a keyboard based transposer. The knob can be a little fiddly for exact values.

Says the Dude with a 'purpley' icon. :)

Love the new colour scheme myself, but opinions are always split on aesthetics.

It was default and I just never changed it. But now that you mentioned it, well OCD...

  • any idea when the update is being released?

  • Understanding the app a bit more now, the update (pic in the OP) looks brilliant.

Looks like each sample/recording now has a different colour when applied to the step pads. That's gonna be really, really helpful.

Also looks like you can now apply more effects/parameters on a step by step basis.

No don't , the WerkBench logo is one of the best of all the apps I have seen. A classic already!

    Eeccchh. :s
    Gives me the creeps.

    Love the app though.

  • I can't get this to work in AudioBus for the life of me. Oh well, wait for the update and see how it goes.
