Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art. -Andy Warhol
This is exactly what I needed to read staring at a blank page of A4 paper, and the three weird sounding chords names Guitarism has thrown up in its 'Lucky Dip Settings'. Thanks for the nudge to make a start before the proper football returns.
Hi, here is my last one.
Thx for listening

A brief instrumental dedicated to the worst father in American Literature.
Galileo, iGrand, acousticguitar, electricslideguitar, Tonestack
Nice music. Reminds me of old Pink Floyd quiet moments in some of there music. I enjoyed it none the less. Very tranquil.
Turn the light down low, pour a glass of fine wine, then put your feet up. Then listen to your track. Pure Chilling out music. Nice.......
Thanks, studs!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thats realy Great @JeffChasteen and @studs1966
Thanks for listening and your kind words.
@Bartlinux My head was nodding, my toe tapping, and my lips smiling while listening to your tune. So, all good in my book. If I had to make a suggestion, I'd tell you that I longed for a bit of melody somewhere in the back half. Something to lift the composition just slightly and act as counterpoint to the funky slicing.
@JeffChasteen nice! You should sell this to Billy Bob Thornton for his coming adaptation of a Raymond Carver story to the big screen. Frances McDormand will be standing in the driveway of an upper Midwest home on a January night watching the house burn to the ground as Billy drives up in his old pickup. Billy and Frances will stare at each other with disdain and resigned affection and then just as they turn back to watch their house disappear in flames that gorgeous slide guitar part will flutter in. As the piano chords fade out after the two minute mark, the camera will have reached the end of its long pan and the film will dissolve into inky night.

However, I'm afraid that if it were cut down for a Carver property, it would end up being only about twenty seconds long.
Oh, those literary quips!
I do like your scenario, though. Nicely done.
@JeffChasteen while technically you are correct, I have to remind you that YOU ARE NOT SELLING IT as I counseled.
True. I will remain silent, and let you make the negotiations, but I will not meet Harvey in his hotel room!
Thank you for the kind words, I was thinking to play a tune, it was funny but also without full.
Same acapella, but different two different styles of music(remixing my own stuff really).
This one I did, I wanted to sound 1980's smooches stuff (reminding of the days of old, when I went to infamous "Cinatras" nightclub, or another name for it was "Sin City" my regular haunt..... In Croydon, South London, in the 1980's/90's.... Think we called it, "Pull A Pig Night!".... Those were the days)......
The second, is my Disco Remix of it........ Enjoy guys.......
alright guys ima be reviewing songs from a remote jungle in guatemala with howler monkeys and tucans. get some fuzz off my back and relax. hopefully i can write therr too. off i go
Howler monkeys! Sample! Incorporate!
I don’t like to spoil the illusion by explaining a song, so I’ll muse a little on ‘Time’.
I often put things off til tomorrow. I need to remind myself that there’s no time like the present.
Live for now
This club is great for the fact that it imposes a time limit to be done and dusted, otherwise I would be faffing around endlessly!
Workflow:
Chords worked out on guitar, then fully programmed midi in Cubasis for keyboards. Finger tapped drums. Shipped over to Auria. Played guitars to fit with song (Bias FX, Saturn).
Finally, the vocals, then all mixed in Auria with FabFilters.
Here’s a video I cooked up for it in Wizibel.
@DefRobot, when I read the first sentence of your post, I immediately thought of the Alan Parsons Project, and maybe because they were on the brain, I could sort of hear them doing that song. I really like the doubling of the vocal an octave apart, cool technique. The honky tonk piano sound fits well, and I thought you got a nice, beefy drum tone. Even with headphones that have awesome bass response, it was hard for me to discern any bass other than the kick drum and maybe some low piano notes, so maybe I'd explore a way to fill in the low end a bit more. Nice job!
@JeffChasteen, I enjoyed the blend of the organ, piano, and acoustic. Particularly liked the sound of the acoustic. I was a little thrown off by the background hiss that appeared every time you went to the V chord, and then its disappearance when you returned to the i. The slide solo was a nice idea and well executed, but a few of the notes got a little shrill through headphones. Maybe rolling off some of the highs and a plugin such as Microwarmer could help that some. Thanks for sharing.
@trackedout I'll classify this one as strong. I think I know what you're after at this point, and this seems pretty right there. Mix was spot on, with everything very different, but clear, and I think this is the best slop-to-funk ratio thus far for you. Liked the throbbing bass rumbles and low moaning chorus especially. I'd like to hear a Jandek wail in there sometime, a la "Space and Time", if you're taking requests. Only criticism I can think of is that I'd like the solo to be more fucked up, like it's slipping off the tracks a bit.
@DefRobot Nice entry. I really like the more subdued treatment here. Reminded me of a slowed down Supertramp's "Breakfast in America". This might be an insult in some circles, but I think they had clever little pop songs. I wanted more fill from 1:48 to 2:10— arp? Then maybe more bed, like an organ, from 3:34. It would have been nice if you had inserted some complete stops into the song, like a stuck second hand. Just before 1:48 would have been the perfect spot.
@Joel75 Thanks for the listen and kind comments. There is a bass in there but in the louder moments, it mixes in.
There is also a distorted electro bass in various parts, that possibly sounds a bit like guitar.
@aaronpc Thanks for listening! I have no problem with Supertramp! Breakfast in America is a classic. They made some quirky stuff.
Yeah, I can hear a stop where you say at 1.48, I may incorporate that, so thanks!
@aaronpc Nice reworking. Goes well with the video.
Whole track has an unnerving edge to it - which is a good thing!
Staunchly un-commercial, but the kind of sound that could easily gain an underground following.
Really enjoyed it.
@Bartlinux Interesting entry, to say the least! Overall feel of Kraftwerk having a fit.
Some good bits in there, but couldn’t grasp it fully with the very stop-start nature of it.
@JeffChasteen I was immediately reminded of House of the rising sun.
Really nice guitar that comes in, but maybe could’ve pulled it back into the mix a little.
Very good maudlin piece, with a cool selection of sounds.
@studs1966 Parts of it reminded me of Primal Screams ‘Screamadelica’ album. The pianos that come in are very Purple Rain era Prince.
Nice placement of the vox. A very laid back feel to it all. Lovely by the pool.
If I had one.
Cool beat going on with this one, and interesting sounds. I was digging it at the beginning, but I would be happier with track overall if were to evolve a little bit more. Maybe some sort of motif that was attacked from different angles. Great start, and could become something really cool with some more development.
Your workflow is very similar to mine, except I've been doing the midi work in BM3, where you use Cubasis.
I'm glad you explained the meaning... I thought sure it was written while waiting for either BM3, Quantum or Odessa to land in the app store!
Seriously, this is a great track, I like it a lot. I like your voice, and what you do with the vocal tracking. Very well done. The instruments selection is good, not too much going on, just right! I like the guitar sounds too. I haven't played around much with the amp presets in Saturn, I need to do that.
My only suggestion would be to give us more of the hook. The "Waiting for days to come..." bit, you only go there twice. It's a great vocal melody, and IMO it could benefit from being pounded home a bit more. If it were me, at about 2:55, I'd put a double chorus there instead of that final breakdown. I don't think that bit adds a lot, and it feels like the track sort of runs out of gas a bit there. Overall a very enjoyable listen, cheers!
