  • Hmm. Apart from a couple of mic tests I have pretty much ignored accoustics in combo with iPad. Thanks for the idea.

  • Very cool @ mtyas. What audio interface are you using for the iPad?

  • Mmmm, I like banana keyboards!

  • I like the woodwork and the fact that it looks like u built that desk on the right, cool man, where r u based mtyas?

  • I'm more interested in how you got this shot. Is it a panorama?

  • @Ben
For the moment I'm using two behringer uca222's (one for each iPad) I'm using powered USB hub's to plug in midi interfaces too. I'm still searching for a audio interface with midi and iPad charging, but for the moment, what I have is good enough
I've also got a irig for the iPod touch

But my main daw interface is a steinberg ur824, and I think I can use it with my iPad too (haven't tried yet). If ever they get out 1Tb iPad's I might use it for multitracking

    @supadom
Yes, but most people think of banana keyboards bending the otherway, I'm just strange enough to have them back to front as well

    @Xprmntr
The desk on the right was last weeks DIY project, it's really useful and getting better all the time. Yesterday I used the laptop to synchronize everything in midi (over wifi for the iOS devices) and it worked really well.
Basically it's a keyboard, two iPad's, an iPod touch, 3 korg volca's, a mini kaos pad, a patch bay and a zoom r16. With the patch I can more or less send anything into anything, making it a great live performance setup. And it all folds up and fits in my car (Peugeot 106)

Otherwise I'm based in south west France (100 km south of Bordeaux)

Ah ok, must have something to do with EC regulations ;)

  • I keep things very simple. I use:

    • an iPad (4th gen)
    • an iPod touch (5th gen) whenever I don't have my iPad with me
    • a Behringer UCA202 and Lighting to USB adapter that I occasional use to sample movies from Netflix from one iDevice to the other

    That's it.

My IOS set up (100% mobile) Ipad3, Zoom H4,Samson Graphile 49, Akai EWI usb,Rode NT1 mic
    connect with power usb hub
The Trick of this set up is to use y-usb cable that plug to H4
and plug two another side to hub and Mobile Phone Charger.
Then the power from Mobile Phone Charger can feed H4
(also phantom power 48V for Rode mic),Graphile 49.
For EWI USB actully do not need power but must plug through usb hub.
H4 set to audio I/O mode and I can monitor via headphone output.
And I can use Graphile 49 control Auria use HUI mode but just for 8 channel.

  • My studio is my car, cafe & patio. Just my headphones and my ipad/iphone and anywhere but in the house is where I work nowadays. At this point, I have zero desire to do any creative work in a traditional studio. Been there -done that. I've always been inspired by environment and the i-studio has allowed me to capture inspiration in ways I've only dreampt about.

  • "Inspired by environment." I like that @Thomas.

  • @mytas love that desk!

that's impressive. Is it true that you can record into Auria for example with the Zoom interface? And at the same time have MIDI input from two devices (keyboard and EWI)?

The Mobile Phone Charger feeds both the H4 and the keyboard. But it doesn't charge the iPad, or does it? Anyway, very impressive already, very versatile.

***Yes,I can use 48V and monitor through phone output (and can control monitor level from jog dial from Zoom, too) but in this case EWI not much stable like before ( I used EWI with iPad by plug trough usb power hub but no need to plug any power)

***Yes,but it doesn't charge the iPad.Thanks for BGR from AURIA forum
that advice help me to reuse my old H4 again.

My live setup- bass through tech21 vtbass pedal, novation xio, irig keys controlling iPad ( imini works again!).

Each piece goes into the mixer, which is an oz audio matrix mixer, then I have one channel going to a DI, another channel goes to my in ears with my 3 signals plus. 2 feeds from the board (no in ears for the band that I am with in this photo, but used in another band).
Sometimes drum jam makes it's way out to add some percussion (have to make it through hot hot hot some way!), and ireal pro and forscore are used for reading charts when applicable.

Oh, and the mint container has some picks in it, and my earplug case can be seen as well...;-)

  • @mrufino1

Mints, while not very rock'n'roll are still legal in most countries, you don't need to explain yourself ;)

  • Ha! No mints in that container for at least 10 years now, it's just a pick holder. I rarely use a pick, but if I needed to that's where I'd find one.
However, this was taken at a wedding gig last week, so not very rock n roll for sure!

  • Oh a wedding! I saw all the white coats and I thought your band dressed as Doctors for live shows. Might be an idea..

  • ...and they played doctors and nurses all night long

  • Ipad air, itrack solo, itrack dock, livid base op-1.

  • I know this is an old thread but I've seen a few ios/ pc crossovers - what DAWs are you using that are compatible with both or if any?

  • Present Set up

  • My current setup.

  • Creative monitor stand!

  • If by creative you mean cheap then yes. I used an old table base and modified it. I want to raise them up a little more and use a lazy Susan base to be able to spin them around. My studio is in our bonus room which also serves as a hang out room. So if I can spin the monitors around I can perform to my audience of 3, which is my wife and kids.

  • one of my wishes came true this year. At last I have a working mobile solar system, which makes me independent from the power grid.

The Monotron and the effect pedals still run with conventional batteries, but next year I plan to run them on solar power as well.
