Yep, and I thought: THIS
Anyways will check this thing out now with his video.
iReason or something from propellerheads would still be the best thing fingercrossed
We had our fun yesterday with Novation Minimon! That’s it for another year! for iOS at NAMM! Got a Korg Volca FM arriving today hardware the way ahead! At least you can sell it on once you get bored unlike Apps! Hopefully Modstep 2 or Reason for iOS will prove me wrong but judging from the last 2 NAMN shows iOS apps take a back seat.
Ah ok. This is the first time I heard of NAMM and thought this is the place to be for iOS Music making and great stuff (e.g. apps
) is go Ing. to be released as well.
Enjoy your Volca though
Mate, you got me completely wrong. I was referring to Jakob’s excitement and my apathy. I’m not a hardware guy and POs don’t excite me.
Then I apologise for misreading it mate.
I’m not excusing myself, but I think the disappointment clouded my judgement there.
I’m only somewhat of a hardware guy in that I hook up a MIDI keyboard to my iPad to play in notes when I need the “live feel” on a track. Otherwise, stuff like the OPs just don’t get me excited. I thought for sure we’d be getting iOS Reason, ModStep 2, or some other innovative iOS game-changer ushered in my Jakob’s signature soothing, calm ASMR voice. Hopefully he returns to dickering about with iPad apps, or even Android apps for something different.
Well is there anyone excited about this PO videos?
I feel and share your disappointment bro. I’m still hopeful for a couple of iOS tidbits at NAMM, though
I heard rumours of SynthMaster One, and Pioneer has a recording app of sorts for DJ sets.

Awesome, they made a TriqTraq for real life!
Must say, Cuckoo's enthusiasm for everything is quite infectious. That track was excellent.
Well I like them.
Heresy!
I’ve let myself down, I’ve let you guys down. Pretend I never wrote that...
I am not a PO fanboy either. So my excitement is not nearly as high as the anticipation pushed it haha
Not everybody shares the same values, so with people from so many backgrounds on the Audiobus forum it should not be too surprising that some people will be offended by the jokes people tell here. If you’re expecting everyone to be okay with your jokes because it’s just a joke or other people make similar jokes, I think it’s a very naive perspective.
Personally, I set a very low bar for humanity based upon their past performances so I’m seldom surprised or disappointed at their ability to embroil themselves in controversy utilizing a wide variety of input sources even at relatively low volumes.
I don’t expect everyone to be okay with it, but sometimes there are certain attitudes that I just bristle at is all.
I guess that’s my own point of view.
Some very good truth here.
I heard there would be a preview of Synthmaster One for iOS. It’s probably due for release in October.
This sampler looks interesting. Could be first PO I will get.
Jakob, please never leave us alone again. You can see what happens.
None of the POo's spark any interest in me to be totally honest.
Even the praised OP-1 never clicked with me...
It's like east-cost(Stockholm) vs west-coast(Gothenburg) all over again
The OP-1 is a weird beast. I have one here at the moment, and feelings for it veer from ‘waste of money’, to ‘wonderful thing’. I’d never pay £800 for it though.
Well done that man, saved me a notional 800 I don't even have in the first place....
For what its worth, they’ve been tools I’ve used to protect myself and those around me from my own poor judgment so those of sounder mind may feel little need to use them.
I think for us old iOS heads it doesn’t bring a lot more to the table. Gadget, Rozeta, the BM3 freeware app, Model 15 via Turnado via AUM into Auria....all of these laugh in the face of it’s four track, one synth or drum machine at a time workflow. Unless you’re rich, I don’t see why iPad users would need one.
But. There’s about 6 different synth engines, it has a superb range of arps and sequencers, great unique fx, fantastic easy to use sampler, and everything’s tweakable without having to plug in a controller. And most of all it’s fun. Battery lasts a couple of days, it’s built like a brick, boots up quick and almost fits in your back pocket.
Do I love it? Yes I do a bit. Would I pay £800 even if I had that much to spend on musical kit? Absolutely not. £200 and I’d be very tempted, though maybe that’s just a reflection of my personal finances.
The po35 is the next level pocket operator. It’s the only one that has scales and transpose. Correct me if I’m wrong. I just ordered one and hopefully I can use it in my music. At least I know I’ll have lots of fun with it as I’ve had with its elder brother po32
Op-1 it’s the only hardware instrument that I didn’t sell (and I had many) the moment I decided to go for the Ableton+Push2 route.
To me its best feature it’s the virtual 4 track tape machine and the sampler side of it,
I never cared too much for the onboard synths, they’re not that great.
But when you’ll start sampling (from the inbuilt radio too!) and resampling (adding fx, tape manipulations etc) you’ll immediately start to see the real strength of this machine.
And it’s a real joy to play with, definitely a fantastic UI.
One of the greatest instruments made in the last years.
Worth every cents.
The sampler is brilliant, that’s the thing I’ll miss the most when/if I have to give it back.
About op1:
Is one of those that things I will always want to have, it’ll probably be the next tb808 and despite the commercial value, I think its add o a are genius: linking two controllers with a rubber band, wheels, cranks and whatsoever really makes it so different
