  • POs/OP1 not my thing either.

It's a Timothy Dalton level announcement for me. ;)

I’ve heard he’s the new James Bond, busy testing Bond-girls

Bondage girls? Now that’s what I call 50 Shades of Surface Fingering. :D

it’s still amazing to me that you guys never consider the idea that there are women who are part of this board…

So this is to assume that women and non gender conforming people don’t have a sense of humour or are “too frail” to speak up for themselves if they chose to? This is to assume that my joke was “problematic” instead of a tasteless immature joke?* If you were a modern college student and Jerry Seinfeld were to perform his comedy routine on your campus, would you join other college students in driving him out? Final question, if you truly want to go down the PC route, what’s a straight male such as yourself doing speaking up on behalf of women and non gender conforming people?

*(I watch a Youtube artist named Jazza, and the type of joke I made would not be out of place there.)

Not everybody shares the same values, so with people from so many backgrounds on the Audiobus forum it should not be too surprising that some people will be offended by the jokes people tell here. If you’re expecting everyone to be okay with your jokes because it’s just a joke or other people make similar jokes, I think it’s a very naive perspective.

I don’t expect everyone to be okay with it, but sometimes there are certain attitudes that I just bristle at is all. :) I guess that’s my own point of view.

Personally, I set a very low bar for humanity based upon their past performances so I’m seldom surprised or disappointed at their ability to embroil themselves in controversy utilizing a wide variety of input sources even at relatively low volumes.

    Some very good truth here.

this is not a slap to anyone in particular, if anything it’s a KÜHLslap on all us XY’s.
I dunno, but in my experience, millennials like my 19 year old daughter, don’t have the same humour we had back in the day. I was fed on Benny Hill, Kenny Everett & Monty Python :)
It’s a generation gap mate, and we’ll have to conform a bit.
As men, we always must be gentlemen. Like Lord Byron. Actually he got his sister pregnant, but y’all know what I mean :)

I’ve played in a rockabilly band with 3 girls and me. I have more friends among women than men, perhaps because I like Frank Zappa who made fun of men’s beer & sport culture. I know that women have just as dirty humour as us men from the jokes and gags they send my way. But that’s not the point.

    IMPORTANT
We must always show respect. Both sexes. But in these times, we must be extra protective of our sisters, so they can empower themselves on the same basis as men.
Girls have musical talent on par with boys, but historically there’s no female Mozart.
His sister didn’t get the same attention and education and a career. Men has always had their own interest close at heart. This must end.
We talk about Liszt as the greatest pianist ever, but Clara Schumann (google) was his equal both as a pianist and composer. Certainly a typical example!
Things won’t change overnight, western culture have a female stereotype in movies, in music, in humour... in everything. Now we have a chance to change that view men have had of their sisters. I hope it succeeds. It has to. Peace!

Thats the easy question... I hate wondering ‘where am i going wrong right now?’ At any point in my life I was doing something majorly wrong... what are the odds I’m not right now?

I hear you. More often than not, at this later date, I tend to be content with the idea that I'm moving in the right direction, however slowly.

Seems to be a salesman for those Pocket Operator thingies, these days, and making his own sounds. Good luck to a fine fellow, I say.
