  • I can't remember if I read it in a book, heard it on a podcast or maybe somewhere else, but some of the best life advice I absorbed went something like "Don't take things personally, it's a road to constant misery"

I forget this often but it's something that has served me well over the years

  • We have paid the full price, others get it for free!
    We are all dying!

One is called mudita in Sanskrit, translated roughly as appreciative joy at the success or good fortune of others. It seems to be sprinkled throughout the thread, alongside its opposite. One way is life giving, the other not so much.

Yes to this. Selfless vs. Selfish.

Should I hate Intua for charging me for their hard work?

Should I hate other people for getting the same thing for free or should I hate Intua for cheating me?

What’s in it for ME? Could I get some free sound packs out of it? Who cares if the ship is sinking. Is the ship sinking? If it is sinking then who cares if I get free sound packs or that intua are giving their app for free.

Is the ship sinking? Maybe they’re just sending out the crow.

What if they know something we don’t? What if they know that iOS 11.3 screws up all the audio and this is the end of all this?

What is the actual worth of a software application?

What’s in it for me? Is this how we can finally define humanity?

If the price is low it shifts in high numbers, it it is high it shifts in low numbers. Market forces? Now I know what Beatles meant when they sang ‘the inside is out and the outside is in’.

Apple and all the other big tech companies are more than prepared and able to shaft all and everyone of us to pay for dividends, yachts and shiny bling.

It’s the way of this forum unfortunately, a couple of members disagree with the masses, and it becomes a free for all, kick-in-the-teeth pile of personal attacks and nastiness.

    Horrible.

I wonder how many of those thinking a £40 - £0 price cut is a wonderful thing, paid £40 for the app? Actually I don’t need to wonder, the answer is none.

    Tossers.

If you’d had the wherewithal to read my comments, you’d see I have absolutely no issue with paying for the app. I bought it on release, and though I don’t use it, I think it was great value for money.

But I do question dropping the price from £40 to nothing. It’s a kick in the teeth for those paying that price.

That’s my opinion, and I don’t deserve to have personal insults made at me for having a different opinion to you, or anyone else.

But since I’ve had to endure them, it’s your turn.

    So fuck you.

I agree with you Brambos. It is unbelievable how people are so ungrateful. Man, I really can’t believe what I’m reading. I personally paid for the app. I’m actually really happy for those that got it for free now. Why? Cause that’s the way we all should be. Happy when others get blessed. Sooner or later you’ll get blessed too. It wasn’t our time.

This just goes to show how polluted and self righteous humanity has become. Just because a business owner decides to give his product away for free for a few days, all others who previously had possibly said good things about this business owner, now are saying “crucify” him! Wow, kind of reminds me of what we did when our own creator gave his only son to us to save us and forgive us from our sins, we said “crucify” him, while just a few days before all we’re screaming Hosana to the King! Most of you know that I’m talking about Jesus Christ.

How does this fit in, well, it just goes to show that after almost 2,000 years we haven’t changed a bit.

My suggestion, speak your heart out, it’s okay; that’s why we have open respectful forum where we can all speak and have disagreements. But let’s not throw dirt on such a noble and gracious move by a well respected and honorable developer.

Remember this is just my humble opinion. And I’m ok if you disagree.

Peace, love; the greatest is love!

Wow. Regardless of what I think about this surprising strategy I am absolutely shocked by the toxicity and entitlement in some of these responses. I feel I have to give my ever helpful colleague Mathieu a vote of support here.

Some time ago you paid [x amount of money] for BM3 because you felt the value of it was proportional to the asking price at that time. What someone else pays for it today is of no consequence to you because you already decided it was worth its price.

Don’t confuse feelings of jealousy with unsavory business practices. They’re two very different things. I’m convinced there are no bad intentions in this move.

Have a good weekend and enjoy your Beatmaking. B)

This is the only comment that makes sense to me.

And the idea that "at least Intua could make the sound packs free" — what planet are you on? Yowza.

I paid full price as well. I'm fine with few people getting it free. Not sure why people are so upset by this. This is no different from people getting codes from a Facebook giveaway. If the price drop was permanent then I'd have issues with it. But as it is temporary I'm ok with it....

  • After this never ending post we will never get a free app ever again. Développer might even be afraid of giving us sales. :s :'( :/

    You paid £40?

That’s good you’re ok with it, but some people will have made sacrifices to be able to afford to buy it for that price. As I said I’m ok with what I paid for it, it’s a great app, but I don’t think it’s a sensible marketing strategy. Time will tell I guess.

As for future purchases, what with this, Auxy etc. going free and subscriptions sneaking in, I’m going to be VERY careful what apps I spend money on in future.

Who knows, they could be free a week later.

If BM3 going free for a few days is going to wreck the music app market, then why would Apple give away GarageBand for free? And why isn’t everyone getting pissed at Apple for doing this? I had to pay $4.99 for GarageBand, and then Apple goes and makes it way better and starts giving it away for free! Those selfish jerks! >:)

I find it hard to believe that Apple the company that charged $1000 for Logic Pro 7 then reduced the price to $499 for Logic 8 then $199 when logic 9 released would do the same type of thing with GB!!!!!

So Logic 10 should be apprx. $59.99! Woo hoo! Apple rocks!
