Street Survivors
A dramatic retelling of the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash from the perspective of surviving drummer Artimus Pyle. It has TV movie level low budget production values (no LS music is used) it would have been better if it had been even more low budget or a higher quality treatment they deserve.
They rival The Ramones when it comes to the combination of great rockandroll band and extreme dysfunction.
We had that in St. Louis too, must have been the same storm. That was wild
Good to know it’s in my que

The wife and I have been enjoying Norsemen Season 3 on Netflix
Watching the whole series. All the wars, killing, overthrown governments get boring after some time but otherwise pretty good entertainment.
Directed by Olivier Stone.
OMG, thank you for this! This guy is the discovery of the year for me. I'm often late to the party but better late than never. I think he's a warm hearted idiot on the outside and artistic genius to the core. Simply brilliant, unique, funny, just, wow. Made my day and will be watching him more. Sincere thanks for the post!
Yes I love Norsemen. I’ve been trying to tell people about it. Such a great and funny show that doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
Try the book too. It’s not exactly the same but it’s called “A People’s History of the United States of America” by Howard Zinn. - it’s amazing
This is the real history of the US not the history that’s unfortunately still taught to our kids in grade school.
Champions League - Quarterfinal matchup today, Lyon v. Man City.
And finally the real reason I wanted to post after getting side tracked by the other ones... lol.
Punk Attitude - Music Documentary - from the Real Stories Channel
Finally getting to watch some Cardinals baseball again
Man, you just have to wonder if they’re going to be able to complete the season even at 60 games.
Of course this has to be the year the Cubs are (at least for now) lighting it up.
Yeah they’re going to absolutely gassed by the end of the season. I don’t see them being too hot in the playoffs if they make it in just from fatigue but they did look pretty good yesterday. Yeah I kept hearing about the Cubs winning over and over and was seething a little bit haha, they need the Cardinals to balance things out plus I kind of miss playing those bastards. They always make it a really good baseball game
Another fan here. Nice to see Thorbjørn Harr make a guest appearance, looking a lot like Jarl Borg, who he played in Vikings.
Anyone got any views/feedback on Lovecraft Country? Guardian seems to like it.
Binging on cover bands on YouTube. Leonid and Friends, Foxes and Fossils and The Hindley Street Country Club. These folks do their covers note for note perfect, which I prefer.
The recent Go-Gos documentary.
Very well done.
Amazing when you realize their meteoric rise and then the band was over. Shocked to find out the most wholesome looking one Charlotte Caffey was a heavy heroin user from the beginning.
I stole so many basslines from Kathy Valentine in the 80’s.
Thanks for the tip. Hadn't heard of this one. 'The Go-Go's are the most successful female rock band of all time' it says here. Why is that? Timing? Talent? Both?
I'm rewatching all the Violet Evergarden titles on Netflix before I cancel my subscription to save some money.
Talent, Timing, Chemistry, Dedication, Great songwriting
Since we’re talking storms - last night in Southern New England there was a bit of lightning but not much thunder. After a while it started booming so I went out and sat on the front porch.
I was looking at exactly the right spot when two lightning bolts suddenly sliced through the clouds. A second later everything lit up brighter than day, almost a pure whiteout.
After about 5 seconds was the loudest bang I have ever heard in my life. It was like a very large cannon went off. I felt it in my chest! It was followed by very loud rumbling for a good 20-30 seconds.
I’ve seen some wicked storms but never anything like that in my relatively long life! 😳
Tiny Creatures on Netflix is a breath of fresh air. Bite size episodes too.
Holy shit that sounds frightening and exhilarating.
"Love on the Spectrum" on Netflix. Really open my head to high function people on the Autism Spectrum. I have a nephew and it helps me better understand a lot of his behaviors
at his age.
I can see clearly now that my brother was on the spectrum and was never diagnosed.
I think the schools catch them now and provide services to help.
Good to be alive. And scary
@Ben @JohnnyGoodyear It was quite an experience! It was like being in the middle of a Marvel movie. 😂
This is from 2 nights ago. Lightning near the Pacific Ocean.
Goliath - like season one well enough. Season two in a few eps..... ...wtf season two.
Recently watched both "The Social Dilemma" and "My Octopus Teacher" on Netflix and found them both deeply engaging and thought-provoking.
As a systems engineer/IT professional, psychology major, and parent who has lived through the evolution of the Internet and been both amazed and horrified at many of the fascinating developments and unanticipated (but apparently engineered) societal effects that it has spawned, TSD really puts into words many of the misgivings that I've personally had regarding how social media affects us all. It even makes a compelling case for social media being essentially at the root of the cultural divisiveness that we struggle with these days. I found it both timely and relevant.
I don't really want to say too much about MOT but it's beautiful and absolutely worth watching. It was highly recommended to me by my parents and I can see why.
