After some time i like it a bit more. Like Model 15 and Zeeon it‘s like Spice.
They can cut really trough a mix but like with any spice you should handle with care if you want no noisy hell of low end distortion :)

It’s funny how we spend time creating lovely full sounds for the most part when programming, then cut chunks out of them with EQ when using them :p

Yes. This synths shine in a solo for sure but in a huge mix where all frequencies need to breath they might be not the best choice.
A reason i like the filter at the end of Omnisphere output to tame everything down a bit without changing the main preset or having to do it in the channel.
All these iOS apps needs limiter included.
I mean some sounds are so over the top that i wonder if they ever check their output and think about how anyone could use it in a musical way.
That might be because the presets are made in the standalone apps rather than running in a DAW while monitoring the peaks.

I wonder about the inconsequence of their apps. Each of their apps having MPE but a different size or even kind of virtual keys. Different preset browser and other things.
Like Korg, Moog seems to lost track how to make a pleasant GUI?

Innovation is good and all but I'd agree that they already have two fantastic preset systems in the wild (M15 and Animoog) that I'd love to see somehow slotted into ModelD.

Yeah I’m guilty of that. I make all mine stand alone and then sort em out later if I ever get to use them in a mix - it’s the lazy man way of it lol

  • Quick question: how do I change the dedicated LFO rate in the AU version (the knob usually appears on the pitch modwheel panel)?

Thank you very much. Knew it had to be somewhere.

  • Performs pretty well on iPad Pro 2015. 3 instances is between 50% - 60% cpu.

  • I like my new little monster, but doubt I’ll ever delete iMini... for all sorts of reasons

This is amazing. Will have a lot of fun with this while I’m waiting (hoping) for AU Animoog! ;)

Is there any way to create a new 'bank' for user presets?
(While the new preset browser may be good for performance it's less that optimal for preset management).

Hey @Samu, if you press and hold the Save button, then you'll get access to a drop down menu with INIT PRESET and NEW BANK options. On iPhones with 3D Touch, this is done with a force press gesture.

Getting quite a lot of stuck notes in the AUv3, not sure if others are too.

Hey @Carnbot, could you please contact [email protected] with a detailed description of you setup. We haven't had any stuck notes in AUv3 usage of the Minimoog Model D app, but maybe there's a configuration that we've overlooked and not tested.

  • @robosardine said:
Is it not possible to change your patch and keep the arpeggiator running at the same time?

Hi @robosardine, if both presets have arp latch enabled, the arpeggio that is active will continue running.

Has anyone managed to find a way to import presets?

I saved a couple of patches I made to the Files app, but whenever I try and re-import them into Model D the app freezes.

@richardyot that should definitely not happen, could you please reach out to [email protected] with an example preset and describe how you are importing them? Thanks!

FYI, we were able to reproduce this issue and are working on a fix. In the meantime as a temporary workaround, if you enable background audio, the app should not freeze when loading a preset while it was in the background.

  • This is very nice indeed. Thank you Moog! I wouldn't mind velocity to VCF, please consider.

I’ve found many of the times I’ve had stuck notes, it’s when using new sounds in the AUv3 that have been newly made in the standalone app. Their seems to be some background activity within the AUv3 version of the app when first using new sounds made within the standalone version.

This may or may not be a separate issue to what the OP has witnessed.

  • Hmm, I told myself enough (synth apps) was enough! But this is hard to resist. I have 2 questions:
Will it run on Air 1?
Is this an intro price? (do I need to panic buy!)

Thanks, I had to actually read the manual this time, usually I manage to figure things out without resorting to the manual :)

We're taking this under consideration for future improvements, thanks for the suggestion!

It would be very helpful if you could reach out to us directly and walk us through what you're doing in a step by step manner. A screen recording video would very much be appreciated, if you could record that for us. Thanks a lot!

Will send a description. Tried to do the screen video and for some reason my iPad is no longer recording sound on these videos. To be honest it may not help, as you can’t see the delay between the touch to select the new sound and the new sound being registered on these videos as there is no way to see when I’ve actually touched the screen lol. Will send description in to Moog help though :)
