No cables. Each generator creates a new bus hidden behind the scenes, its color coded. Then you can use mixers or select the bus module is operating on. There are complex rack modules as well, e.g. drum rack. Modulation is handled by tapping source and target.
You can switch cabling (alter audio path) by dragging module elsewhere. All dependent modules, like mixers will update to the new structure. Changing structure is as easy as turning knobs.
will you have midi learn and will the module remember the config if the module is swapped?
Yes. Its kind of meta-operation. One module can alter all succeeding modules, so if you want scenes you insert a "scenes module".. or "randomize all params on event"
Midi-learn is on the list. Not only CC, you can trigger buttons on any midi message (keys as well).
I laughed. Best video I've seen recently.
oooooohh, i like that
god this looks and sounds amazing. I am in awe. I eagerly await Drambo!
I hope it keeps with the flat, utilitarian look. I much prefer it to a skeumorphic thing - especially for a project such as this.
This sounds ideal. Videos looking good!
As far as it doesn’t eat into audio resources (ram/cpu?) I’m fine with whatever. Me and @Michael have been battling with stutter while swiping pages. I’d rather not add to the load TBH (with fancy reason style swinging cables etc).
I’d have stuttered graphics over audio any day. Seems like Apple prioritise video over audio when it comes to it.
Yep lets test it first. Its kind of research project. On the other side does this really help in uderstanding what is going on?
My attitude here is to make 80% of use cases a bread and butter. The rest needs some gymnastics
No F way!
I count on layers and macros. You hide complex structures behind custom modules.
A little bit of color can go a long way. Might not be "cool" but text turns out to go even further in broad UI testing.
I gonna work on better visual identification of specific module types. But don't want to use background textures etc.. rather knobs shape, size and patterns.
I didn't mean to say they shouldn't look nice. My vote is for non-skeumorphic graphics. I imagine they eat up more resources anyhow.
That’s a great idea. I would add a few colour differences too though, as that helps with quick recognition for some
Cool, but please no flourescent green
Agree with you, all the processing for the sound. I'm fine with a flat UI and easy to use controls.
I think good instruments deserve a lil something extra in the aesthetics. Like I don’t think DerVoco’s graphics give it the respect it deserves. 🤐
