I'm replying to @ashh here...
The MIDI drag & drop function of Stylus RMX is here:
Here, you can select which of the up to 8 loops is triggered by the current MIDI notes in the pattern:
And here you can load up to 8 loops. Hit buttons 1..8 to do slice adjustments without activating the loop yet:
Finally, to change the sound of one slice (sample), you do that inside the piano roll.
Gadget will let you preview the new slice even without the transport running, and moving the note to a different slice using +/- will keep the original timing too.
Oh, and you can also select multiple notes (like the snare on 3, 7, 11, 15) and move them all together.
Your work on that post is very much appreciated, @rs2000. It has definitely moved me further towards getting my head around Stockholm on Gadget 2. I'm off to have a faff.
Just realised that you have replied in the correct thread. I didn't actually think to Google it. I learn that lesson, the Google it one, a few times a week.
This is what I was talking about when I said that I can preview the loops i.e. all 8 together playing at the same time, in Stylus but it doesn't seem to be an option in Stockholm. Do you know if that's the case, @rs2000?
In Gadget, you would load 8 Stockholms on 8 tracks. Swedes prefer to meet outside.
With Stockholm can you only import REX files? and it's not a sampler just a sample player?
Exactly.
Thanks.
So Do I need to have Reason to get REX files or are there other options?
Either Reason or their ReCycle software to create your own, or the many free and commercial sources.
I'm using ReCycle to create my own RX2 files, but I only do that maybe once or twice a year - creating a set of loops and custom instruments that I can use in my own compositions.
Thanks for the info!
@rs2000 very informative, thank you.
Have some old rx.2 I’ve made over the years, but given how much I open Gadget, I’m wondering if I’d end up using Stockholm. The preview of rx.2 can only be done with already imported rx.2 that are in Gadget right, or can files be previewed from the Files app, Dropbox, or iCloud? If it’s only already imported files, is there ability to have folders in the gadget directory, or ideally folders and subfolders?
Has to be asked, flexi sampler in Drambo isn’t going to obsolete this now or soon right? Cheers
Plugin Boutique is currently giving away a copy of Reason Lite with any purchase if you want to make your own Rx2s

Thanks for the heads up!
Stockholm has breathed new life into my REX collection, it's one of the reasons why I go back to Gadget quite often.
Flexi can slice but you'll have to build quite a large patch if you wanted to do all the tricks that Stockholm offers in a straightforward and customised UI. And Drambo's Sequencer is not yet ready for doing the groove tricks that are easy to do in Gadget, don't forget that Stockholm and the sequencer plus automation have to go hand in hand.
Nice one for all the info. I've just spent the last hour tracking down some rex files.
@rs2000 good points there. Import is individual file, piece by piece, and there’s no folder ability in the user section correct? I’ll probably pick it up on sale either way as it will make me by more selective what I put in it.
Gadget supports (sub)folders in the user section.
And those sub-folders have to be created using Files.app if I remember correctly...
You can also create new folder in the browser (arrow in circle).
But for this case, importing multiple rex files, the folders can be imported by using Files.app.
This thread makes me want to play with Stockholm again. But I haven’t even fully checked out all the nice sounds in Fairbanks IAPs
Is it still the case you need to make your own Rex/Rex2 files in Reason/Recycle? Is there no IOS app to convert .Wav to Rex?
so i don’t have reason or recycle. are there any ios apps that slice up samples to rex files? if not is there anything on desktop that can do this?
also is there a place to buy rex files ?
@dannysteel, @eross Yes, ReCycle and Reason still seem to be the only way to create REX (RX2, in fact) files. No iOS app that does this as far as I know. I'm still using an old ReCycle version sometimes.
Yes there are many places to buy REX files, a number of commercial sample library producers have products that include REX files.
Searching for
sample library "rex"
on google should show you enough results, like:
https://vstbuzz.com/store/96-off-ultimate-rmx-30k-bundle-worth-2400/ (make sure you select "REX", not "RMX")
https://www.loopmasters.com/formats/7-Rex2

Edit: There's also a number of free downloads for a start.
https://rhythm-lab.com/ (search for Format = Rex2, they also have free loops)
very cool thanks
rs200 many thanks for the clarification, much appreciated.
One more problem im having is getting the Rex files ive got in Audioshare into Stockholm
.Doug did a video a few years back but it seems that doesnt work anymore.I get as far as the popup which offers me Factory,Local or Cloud but none of these seems to see my Audioshare folders.Very strange.
It seems by the comments in video a few people are having similar issues importing into Stockholm.
Any help most gratefully received, thank you
^ cont
Ok,now when i tap on one of the 8 sample location boxes in Stockholm it offers me Factory,Local and Cloud.Apparenly i should be clicking Local and should see my Audioshare Rex samples but i dont. The options it gives me are Create Folder or Sort and nothing else.
Im very puzzled, any help would be awesome thank you.
Indeed I've just tried making my RX2 files from Gadget available in the Stockholm AUv3 without success. I can create folders but it seems like these are in the AUv3 app sandbox that cannot be accessed from the outside.
Can anyone help?
Or do we have to wait for a fix from Korg?
rs200 ^
Yeah it’s infuriating especially when you see Dougs video drom a few years back where its an elegant and straightforward process.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=358&v=AXc9xhwBYsA&embeds_referring_euri=https://forum.audiob.us/&source_ve_path=MzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMzY4NDIsMjgyNDAsMjgyNDAsMjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo
Seems even then people were struggling with this looking at the comments.
The Gadget folder with all custom rx2 loops is exposed in the Files app but it seems like Korg have missed to make them available in the AUv3.
Ive just fired off a query to Korg IOS support,I’ll post any response i get in here
Previous version of Gadget had a “import from others” option when hitting the arrow. Don’t see it in version 3.
But for Stockholm inside Gadget you have to move the Rex files to the Gadget map. I just tested it (used the Files app), i could then select it from Stockholm local menu.
Don’t know about the AUv3, haven’t used that.
