  • Ok…ive no managed to Copy from Audioshare to Gadget folder via Files app in standalone mode,so some progress albeit a long way round.

Still not offering direct Audioshare transfer link tho

Yeah but the rx2 files aren't available in the AUv3, right?

    Seems like an oversight

Yea, I want to load stuff in Abu Dahbi, and several others, haven’t tried yet but noticed my saved user presets weren’t migrated to the AU version. I mean not a huge deal but I definitely need to import files into several of the Korg AU’s.

My , just re-read some posts. So is it only Stockholm? I should try to get something in one of the others, but be great to know it works in Abu Dahbi, Vancouver, etc…

Some of the AUv3s have an import option, like bilbao:

    Stockholm doesn't though:

Too bad the imported samples are not 'shared' between the Gadget and Gadget AUv3's :sunglasses:
Imagine we could do the same trick as with Drambo and just point the AUv3's to use the same folder as the stand-alone app...

So far I've sent three bug-reports to Korg via their support portal...
(Oscillator Switches not working in Phoenix AUv3, Midi & Parameter automation from AUv3 not working in some hosts and most recent one the new play-surface can trigger UI zoom in/out when playing legato-notes).

But yes, it does feel like the release was rushed out for NAMM to celebrate 10 years of KORG Gadget...

    Cheers!

Makes sense - and also might help explain the other missing AUV3s…

Hopefully the 'other' AUv3's will not be 'dumbified' Gadgets but rather full stand-alone UI in AUv3 with full preset editing etc.

  • @dannysteel Yes, it’s all changed now from 5 years ago.
You have to do it via the files app now.
So, get your REX files from wherever, make sure you have them all downloaded completely before moving them to the Korg Gadget Folder in iCloud Drive, there will be a USER folder in there already I think.
Anyway, just select your folder with your REX files, then select MOVE from the bottom of the screen, go and find the Gadget folder again, open use and select COPY, you should be able to access your new REX files from inside Stockholm then.
I’m going to make another video covering this👍😊

Wait, does this mean that I cannot use Stockholm without iCloud available?

For stand-alone Gadget you just put the *.rex files in the Gadget folder on your iPad.
Getting rex-files into Stockholm AUv3 might prove to be a bit of a challenge though...

That's what I mean. No prob importing into standalone Gadget.

Gotcha, even with rex-files in the iCloud the Stockholm AUv3 can't access them.
So for now no user .rex/.rx2 files in Stockholm AUv3.

That is unless @thesoundtestroom has found a sneaky work-around to get them in :sunglasses:

  • @rs2000 No, I haven’t found a sneaky way😂
I just tried to import them into the AU version with no joy whatsoever, so, at the moment I don’t think it’s possible.
Maybe Korg will sort that out, hopefully.

They certainly will, given that it already works with bilbao.
I remember many iOS developers stumbling over app sandbox restrictions (see https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/124895) but at least in this case, Gadget and its AUv3s are from the same developer 😊

Update: Korg have confirmed the missing import option in Stockholm and they're working on it 😊
I've also hinted at the possibility to implement a shared folder (after confirmation by the user) between Gadget and its AUv3s and they'll forward the info to the devs.

    Good news!

Korg's on fire! 2 out 3 issues I've reported so far are confirmed bugs and will be fixed in the next update (Phoenix wave-selector buttons not working in the AUv3 and 'accidental' zoom in/out trigger on the standalone apps new play-surface when doing legato-play).

The remaining one so far is AUv3 automation in LogicPro for iPad not working as expected :sunglasses:

The 'proper' way to report bugs and requests via https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us is working really well!

Asking for added polyphony for the Gadgets (most Gadgets are limited to 4) would be pushing it but could benefit Gadget as well with increase CPU capability on modern devices.

    Cheers!

  • Cheers @Samu 😃
