Gestrument Pro, initial thoughts .
Well just had 10 mins playing with the public beta On Gestrument Pro and I’m pretty blown away. Anyone else trying it. The looping option is great fun.

I am. Don't want to give away all the secrets but it's fantastic! Takes all the good stuff from the original and builds on it. The XY pad MIDI controller fans will be all over this one.
@lukesleepwalker I saw the beta advertised yesterday on FB so definitely worth getting on this one. It looks pretty deep. Has a lot of control. The onboard samples are pretty cool.
So will you be able to simply play scales on the x axis full screen? And play the notes directly? I didn’t like how the first one you were just dragging around and I just wanted to press down and hear a single note

The midi out functionality is awesome aswell so expressive sending out to Synth One, Sunrizer and Quanta at the same time has up to 8 slots for doing this. Going to be a day 1 purchase for me.

Works great inside AUM simple things like name Instruments is handy when going midi out, the icing on the cake would be to double tap to go to the selected midi source but think that’s asking to much ! Has full blown CC.
It’s universal aswell so will please the iPhone brigade!
It’s iOS 8 or later so works on devices with Alchemy on!

Took. me about ten minutes to put this track together using Gestrument Pro midi out inside AUM to Sunrizer, Noise Medley, Synth One, Kronecker. With Spacecraft Granular as droning in background.

Reminds me a bit like TC Data come to think of it, great to see app designed with touch in mind again, goes great playing this along with Spacecraft Granular. I wonder if it will be a AU eventually with the looper how cool would that be.
has the tc-data dev said anything about implementing it?
Well I asked him about 3 years ago for this and he said it was pretty far down the todo list but not out of the question. Not sure if it ever got worked on though.
You can loop the sliders in this as well as the instrument movement so very powerful.
The multiple instrument cursor function is pretty neat aswell for doing multis with internal instruments and midi out.
Midi learn I think is the icing on the cake with this for live use it’s gonna be pretty darn good.
I need a Apple Pencil!
If you have an iPhone with force touch (iPhone 6s and newer) you can control the ‘Cursor Pressure’ control source (see 3.1.2. Cursor pressure) by adjusting the amount of pressure you apply with your finger to each cursor.
If you are using the Apple Pencil on an iPad Pro you can use the force touch for Cursor pressure to control Cursor pressure by adjusting the amount of pressure you apply with the Apple Pencil.
When this option is set to NO, or your device does not support force touch, ‘Cursor Pressure’ will be controlled by the size of the touched area for each finger.
will there be bundle pricing or something to that affect for those who have version 1?
I doubt it this thing to be honest is a new app near enough so don’t mind paying again had the MK 1 for quite a few years now. Its older than the original Patterning that’s been repacked as a new app this Friday.

Have always used mini iPads. Two minutes after launching this I felt the call of those gigantic ones for the first time
Just lost two hours playing on this beta tonight. Once you get a couple of cool loops going and then improv with a couple of other instruments. Wow.
