Yeah, this is already an established and popular workflow with dual monitors for photo and video editing. You can have a smaller, zoomed in work area but you can see the whole scene without any UI obstructions.
I use a second monitor all the time for monitoring video edits, that is an entirely different proposition though, but never for drawing.
Thanks for the reply, recccp
Would this be the related spec: Memory Latency 3962 109.3 ns (geekbench)
And at what temperatures?
Too bad...
Yes, I've heard this...but I've also heard that internal audio on an iPad is truncated, and processed at 16bit...
i have been wondering where people heard that the USB-C port was USB 3.1 (and not thunderbolt. ) I finally found it in Apple’s official press release notes:
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2018/10/new-ipad-pro-with-all-screen-design-is-most-advanced-powerful-ipad-ever/
Also, a bit of a victory for us to see that Apple does recognize our community: “Twice the speed to and from ... musical instruments”
So we can expect the same functionality as we had with lightning. Not that any of us were pushing the limits of usb 2 bandwidth for MIDI, but now we can expect twice the bandwidth.
“With USB-C, iPad Pro can even be used to charge an iPhone.”
Meaning no need of powered usb hubs
IPhone as midi device for the iPad via usb-c would be great...means IDAM from iOS to iOS.
I´m also scared about having to use things like this:
https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/Sony-EC270-USB-C-Audio-Adapter-2-in-1-USB-C-Klinke-3-5-mm-black_1233508.html
I would be cautious about expectations for this. IPad will need most of its own power capacity to run itself. I would expect there to be some software limitation that keeps the power output below a certain threshold. But regardless, yes I think it will no doubt provide more power than lightning did.
I hope they give at least 1A ( it’s the smaller iPhone charger )
Well those are speculations, but for sure I am expecting to no longer need 2 chargers (one for the iPad and another one feeding a usb hub )
Oh yeah, I think we can count on that. Some USB-C hubs are designed for "pass through charging" that will power peripherals while sending charge to the host (iPad). So yes, just one power supply to the USB-C hub will be needed.
I think the usb thing is good..
