    Hello all,

    I couldn't make it for October...So here's my submission for November :)
Here it's 95% done with iPads, just a 1 bass sound from the Mininova at the end, and a very little hi-hat from the DrumBrute Impact...But really not necessary here :D

    masterpiece performance
this is how great ios music can be

  • @obijohn @moff thanks for your kind words.
But after some listening of the previous preview takes I did, and this version,I have to say that even if the performance looks alright, the mix is deep shit, and all the really good ideas are not included, or badly.
I fucked up the mix big time here...
This is not self flagellation, not waiting for "no it's good" cos it isn't, you should listen to the previous ideas to understand...
Really pissed after me, it looks shinny, but it can't hold the distance with a proper mixed track atm :disappointed:
But it's okay, I see what I can improve...Pfiuu...Still lot to do here...

  • A little ambient ting

Sorry I had to miss the fun last month, "real life" got a bit overwhelming for a few weeks. Anyway, I'm back with this... thing, which was inspired by imagining seeing Saturn rise over the horizon, the rings becoming visible one at a time. I'll try to leave feedback for everybody later today.

Fun track, reminds of that 70's masters of synth style with the dramatic vintage sounds.

@1nsomniak Super cool vibe on this track, I can see it fronting a dark dream music video, lots of strange images kept coming to mind while listening. This is good, creative work, and sparks some imaginative juices in the listener. That's not a small feat to accomplish! Well done.

Thanks for the review, it's funny, you just described the video for it that I shall upload soon!

My entry for the month, lyrics in the spoiler. The US midterms are around the corner, the song might be about that...

I am glad that all of you here
    Have gathered for the season
I am told at this time of year
    We say goodbye to reason

    Whoo, the season is here
    The season of delusion
    Whoo, the reasons are clear
    Amidst all the confusion

I am sad, and so full of fear
    You are searching for solutions
It’s too bad I told you my dear
    We’re clutching at illusions

    Whoo, the season is here
    The season of delusion
    Whoo, the reasons are clear
    Amidst all the confusion

Nice and grundgy, this one. Love the sweeping synth pad at 1:50. I don’t know how you get it all into just 3 mins! At 0:50 you’ve already got the intro done and verse started. I need to learn how to do this! Good stuff once again!

Brilliant! I loved this! I can’t live jam to save my life, so I have extra respect for this piece. Enjoyed the performance. Nice little setup you’ve got there. I like the dubby and acid elements in this. Well done, man!

OT.... Do you remember I shared one my of my S.O.T.M.C track “Another Life” a few months ago, well... It’s being released on the 18th this Month , I think?... It was aired the a House Radio Station tonight.... So a glass of wine to celebrate... lol...

Nice one! Great housey funky vibe as always, with some great vocals. Top stuff, man.

Wow so cool. It’s like Prog Rock, right? Really good synth sounds and playing. Very nice work!

A little snippet of a song in progress.
Began on my iPhone in a parking lot while trapped in a thunderstorm. Certainly needs a bridge, etc. for completion.
    Thanks for listening!

Started on iPhone trapped in a car in a thunderstorm?! Alright! I love the fact that quality music making can be so mobile anywhere in any situation these days. I like the track so far. Yes, it would be great if you can insert a bridge or something for variation and completeness. Sounding great thus far. Well done!

Ambient stuff is my favourite, and this is really nice. Good spacey atmosphere and relaxing to listen to. Very nice work.

I have every intention of adding to, and completing this one.

  • Really great tracks submitted already here so far for November!
I don't have a new track ready for this month as I've been busy producing an enormous bank of custom patches in the FREE Primer Synth - hoping the Developers will fulfill my request and introduce a bank/patch sharing facility for the iOS version soon, as I'd love to share this useful and very playable bank with any other Primer users out there.
Just a fun little side project!
Seeing as I don't have a new track to offer this month, I thought I would just submit one I made a few months ago before I discovered SOTMC.
It was just an experiment in attempting to make something DnB style. Most of it was made in Grooverider 16 first, and then the stems were exported to Gadget in various ways for reconstruction and addition of a few other overdubs to complete it.
The bird songs were from a field recording I made in a local forest whilst out on a walk. Processed in Brusfri to remove the background noise/hiss picked up by the iPad mic, and then chopped into smaller samples for exporting and using in Gadget for this track.
Note: I think the bass in this track cannot be heard from iPhone or iPad speakers or ear pods! Needs proper headphones to pick it up!
    Thank you for listening! :)

  • Hey you guys!
I just wanted to pop in and say a big thanks to the SOTMC community. It all helped massively, to re-ignite my passion for writing and producing. You all have a great passion for music and there are some fantastic talents here.
I’ve been rather busy for the past year or so as my old band have reunited. It’s culminated in a new EP coming out in December and a new album early next year.
I’ll pop in from time to time, when I can get time to review stuff.
Cheers @richardyot and all the others, for all the technical knowledge you helped me with while I was on this forum.

Thanks, man! Yeah. Back in the 90s I was really into LTJ Bukem’s Logical Progression album, Goldie’s Timeless album, and stuff like Dillinja’s “The Angels Fell” track from the Metalheadz label. Good memories! ✌️😉

  • @studs1966 Very funky, you've always got a great rhythm section in your tracks. But all the instruments seem to groove, lovely keys and bass.

The vocal is really beautiful, and the way that the music weaves around it is even better. The first mix is my favourite, it seems a bit more musical, although there are some nice instrumental breaks in the second.

  • @crouchie that's an outstanding track, and great mix as well. Your voice sounds amazing, so smooth :)

Love the soft little bleepy synth hook in the background, and that vocal performance is really good. Love it, one of your very best efforts yet. It's a smidge too long but I'll forgive you because I wasn't bored at any stage.

Thank u, really kind. Actually I was a little worried about the vocal but you have reassured me! Yes it’s a bit long but I let it run cos I was having a good time 😉.

  • My track for this month
    Gadget only again

It sounds more like a demo, but so far I do not know in which direction to develop this idea

Oh yes! Superb! Love that this is a Gadget track. Great rhythm with interesting timing. I’m so used to hearing 4 on the floor stuff that this was really refreshing to hear. Great choice of synth sounds and enjoyed the solo in the later part of the track. I’m guessing Lexington was involved in the making of this track? And Kiev? If you feel it needs developing further, I don’t really know, maybe I’d drop in a section which plays down the drums a bit, maybe just keep the kick and snare going on a simpler pattern, and maybe just keep a pad going suspended on just one chord, with some blippy stuff or fx and the vocals, sort of like building the tension up to the later part where everything comes back in, topped with that synth solo.
It’s sounding very classy already. Congrats!

Great track... The vid suits the song.. Very Bladerunner type thingy.... It doesn’t matter if it’s Gadget,.. it’s what you do with the tool you are using to make it sound right... You did that alright... Nice mate... ;)

  • This is great, I always had a preference for the softer more melodic dnb. Solid production.

Hey, thanks very much! It didn’t turn out too bad for a first serious attempt at dnb. Might try some more melodic dnb again in the future.

  • @richardyot What is the effect on your voice? Is that a Flanger?
