@richardyot thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.
@tjporter great track, love that old school Jean Michelle Jarre vibe.
@vitocorleone123 cool sounds but pretty thick, I think it could be mixed to be less agressive but keep the character.
Thanks! Not having made ambient before, I might have "juiced" it more than needed, for sure.
Now I’ve got to say that’s one of your best. It’s a great hook, the arrangement and structure are really very good, there’s no clutter and everything works. Really impressed by that. Brilliant stuff!
Thanks! I'm not sure if I still like it personally, but it doesn't matter because I'm working on the next one. I'm going to revisit all these songs at some later point and decide which ones I like with the benefit of hindsight.
Stunning, loved it!!! That is definitely the best yet. Loads of depth to the production, wish I could manage even half of that. The rig is really coming on. Blown away!!!
Epic indeed! Brilliant stuff. Mix is great, clear and again excellent spread. And congrats on the release!!
Like it. Particularly like the way the beat evolves. Has a great oppressive feel as it progresses, tones and textures are really eerie. Mix is nice and clear with good ebb and flow. Great stuff
Actually that’s a lot of retro fun right there! My favourite was the beats, but the duelling leads really grew on me too. Almost got a (dare I say it) Christmas feel... Really good stuff, well done
Nice little sample, like that vocal effect and the little arp at the end is a treat. Looking forward to the full version
Thanks Mate.. Very much appreciated..
Let me tell you something: you found your vocal niche. If I’d nitpick, I’d go for a tighter timing adjustment in some verses (in the vocal track) using Auria’s warp or perhaps audio editing (which is slower but cleaner). But I really loved it. Great job!
Did you perform it live? Wow!
Fantastic, Darren! Bravo (I confess I only listened the second track though). As usual, ready for club/radio release.
I almost expected Vangelis’ “Charriot Of Fire” when I listened the intro. Perfect vocals (both performance and mix) in this one. The harmonies are also on point. What did you do in Logic?
A 6/8 electronic song? Unusual, but I really loved it. It would be a great action/sci-fi soundtrack! Really enjoyed the moods!
First off all, great synth intro, reminds me of some progressive rock songs I love, and also has a bit of a chiptune/videogame feel. Is it Gadget?
Confess I have not very much to say about it yet. Looking forward to listen the finished track!
Loved it! Would love also to know the apps involved. Cheers!
Add some vocals, perhaps female vocals! I really can picture something in the lines of Enigma project! Very good. Looking forward to listen the final version.
This is very nice and very reminiscent of Peter Schiling’s Major Tom. Bravo!
Great ambience, almost a Lovecraftian if that existed. The name is very appropriate.
This is my own, late entry: everything recorded in Auria Pro using MXL mics, an Apogee One and a UMX 610 controller, and also a Marshall JTM-30 and my faithful and cheap Strat and Precision clones. It’s something very different from my usual style: you’ll be surprised! https://open.spotify.com/album/0Bw1NIv3SQsiJ7Oxvlkhit?si=WUL-1SwXQk2DQ1_RMHUTUw
Thank u, v kind! Haven’t done anything with Logic yet but am learning. This was all Gadget -> Auria Pro
As the first song was so well received, let's try another.
Thanks for the feedback. The strange time signature was a bit of a happy accident, I started with a 3 note arpeggio in SpaceCraft then added 4/4 beats to that creation.
Just listened to your track, you're right, its very different! I like the breakdown with the guitar solo.
Overall very catchy.
Did you read the first post? Participation in this thread requires that you:
a) listen and comment on other people's entries
and b) only post one song per month
It's unfair to expect everyone to listen and comment on your stuff without returning the favour.
It's definitely different from your usual style, but then again I'm not sure what your usual style is, since you've covered every style from classical guitar to metal via trip-hop and everything in between! But yes, I don't think you had done hip-hop until now
There's some interesting juxtapositions, such as the guitar leads mixed with the hip-hop beat, and the rhythm guitar has a great 70s funky flavour which I really like, and the bass sits tight with that guitar, the lead parts are cool too.
I'm not mad on the vocal, but that might be a genre issue as there's not much hip-hop that I personally like, but it's actually more melodic than a lot of rap because there is a sing-song quality to the delivery.
The guitars and bass are great though.
My mistake. Won't happen again.
No worries - thanks for abiding by the rules
I made this little music for my two nieces, for their birthday. I thought maybe I could share it as well. It's made with Reason Compact in one shot using the arpegiator and the sequencer combined with key play. It was mixed in Auria pro (plugins: Pro R, Q2, C2 and L2).
