I made this little music for my two nieces, for their birthday. I thought maybe I could share it as well. It's made with Reason Compact in one shot using the arpegiator and the sequencer combined with key play. It was mixed in Auria pro (plugins: Pro R, Q2, C2 and L2).

Beautiful piece, Norbert. It has a Sci-Fi soundtrack quality about it that I loved. Keep it up!

As the first song was so well received, let's try another.

    Ok 2 tracks in a month can happen...sometimes.... ;)
I like the production on this one, but way more "classical" for my ears, sounds a bit like a "déjà vu", but the relaxing ambience is well done.

I wish there was more stuffs, not only the arpegios, but its well done

    My track for this month
    Gadget only again

It sounds more like a demo, but so far I do not know in which direction to develop this idea

good stuff. maybe break out of the rhythm and chords your using like you did for a sec. develop that into a motif and echo it or repeat it like a chorus verse. nice sounds and playing, as well as good melody line.

OK. So I made my first-ever ambient track in order to give Autony more of a work-out on my iPhone - and because I don't think I'll get a "real" song done this month. B) It's.... a complete 180 from my submission last month. Again, I have no style. Take that in every way as true. Ha.

All I know is that running all these apps in AUM sucked my iPhone battery down like crazy.

    Zeeon + PhaseThree & Kosmonaut
    Model D + DDMF6144 & built-in M/S changer
    Model D + Discord4, PhaseThree, M/S changer
iWaveStation + DDMF NYCompressor, ADverb2, DDMF Envelope & M/S changer
Ruismaker FM + Grind, PhaseThree & Kosmonaut
    Volt + built-in LP filter, ADverb2

All of those are powered by one (or even 2) of the following

    4x instances of Autony
    Quantichord
    Rozeta Cells
    Rozeta Rhythm

Master bus in AUM: FAC Maxima (edited)
Plus a slight, automated "polishing" to the exported .wav once it was on my PC (had to keep with the automated theme).

My only comment is the whooshing could be dialed back just a bit - maybe push it into and out of the mix. Otherwise lovely and lonely.

First time poster long time lurker.
It's also main page but I'll put it here since it's the closest I've come to a 'song'.
However it's longer (embarrassingly 😅) than 3-5 minutes. It's ambient in nature so put on your headphones and go about your business.

    other thread.

Think I missed this one on the first round but the cool video caught my eye when people quoted the post.
This is a great track! Personally I don't think its lacking anything but some futuristic movie dialog samples could sound cool if you wanted to add more. I had this playing in the background and thought it was part of the DJ set I was listening to previously.

  • @audiblevideo nice track, I like when ambient tunes still have lots going on like that.

  • @tjporter Congrats on the release! Very nice track here, and I liked the video too. I loved how the launch synced with the music  and the old-school space animation really took me back to my youth. The track has a nice continuous rhythm, and I do actually hear some Tangerine Dream influence in there, more of their soundtrack work than albums, but yeah. The voice track is a nice touch as well. I know it's release already, so suggestions won't really matter, but maybe something to think about for future tracks is the fadeout, which in this case I felt was just a little too abrupt. Just a minor suggestions, overall I really enjoyed the track (and video). Good work on both counts!

  • @vitocorleone123 Love it. The track has an oppressive feel to me, although I'm not sure if that was influenced by making the connection between your username and The Godfather right before I listened haha. I can almost feel the sand being blown in my face by the wind, and trying to make plodding progress against it. Despite all the sound elements you used, it doesn't feel overcrowded, which is an easy trap to fall into. Everything seemed well balanced and intended. The track has a very specific atmosphere, and nothing in it felt out of place. Nicely done!

  • @moff Some really nice sounds in this track. @Spidericemidas already mentioned some good suggestions and I would just reiterate them. I loved the looping image in the video, it makes great non-static cover art for the track. Really looking forward to your next entry!

  • @Spidericemidas sorry I didn’t get to hear your entry before all the stalking drama caused you to remove it. PM me if you’ve got a private link, I’d love to give it a listen.

  • @Norbert Some really pretty sounds you've got going there. I really should give Reason Compact a try, but I already have too many things installed that I haven't even opened yet, and my time lately has been extremely limited. Ah well, maybe over the Christmas break... I like the improvisational feel to the piece. There are some notes/chords that are unusually placed, but not in a jarring way (as some kinds of improvisational pieces can tend towards). It adds interest and kept me listening, which is the important thing. Nicely done!

Thanks! Yeah - after the fact I got to thinking "I should've used some LFO action". Spot on. I'll go back and add a slow LFO to the whoosh sound from Volt.

Thanks. You must be referring to the first break after the main melody is slightly introduced. It was unintentional but I found it gave some moment of hesitation which was interesting to the piece so I left it that way. Reason has truly some amazing sounds. But as long as the CCs are not MIDI friendly, I will only be using it to record live tracks.

Thank you! Yeah, that was all a bit crap and very disappointing! I’d worked really hard on developing my music, my connections and my moniker on SC since starting it in Jan. I had been really enjoying things on there and on SOTMC until that happened.
I’m considering starting a fresh SC account all over again, uploading the tracks again, but setting them all immediately to private. I gather it is possible to send a link to private tracks on SC which has some kind of code or something to allow access. What a bummer. I’ll send you a link when I get it done. Always good to have feedback from this great thread on the AB Forum. Cheers!

  • @audiblevideo Wow that was unexpected (in a good way)! Reminds me a bit of Welcome To The Pleasuredome title track, minus the FGtH vocals of course. I'm always impressed when someone can put together a 9+ minute track and keep it interesting, when I find anything beyond 6 minutes or so just tends to wander or repeat too much. And while there was a consistent feel throughout there was enough variety in the patterns to keep me listening. Kind of made me think of patterns on the surface of flowing water. They all have the same kind of color and general movement, but there's a randomness there that keeps your eye interested. Nicely done track!

  • @obijohn Thank you VERY much. You have no idea how many times I've attempted making 'songs' out of loops either to be frustrated by technology (UI or process flow) or by my own musical inadequacies.

    Or maybe you do ;)

What I found to be a NICE technical limitation this time was leaving the patterning to some of the MANY sequencers (with a tad of randomness built in) and leaving the switching on manual so so lag and space was left in.

Otherwise it might have been a 'tighter' DJ type track - which went against the grooves and sounds I set up.

Sorry I had to miss the fun last month, "real life" got a bit overwhelming for a few weeks. Anyway, I'm back with this... thing, which was inspired by imagining seeing Saturn rise over the horizon, the rings becoming visible one at a time. I'll try to leave feedback for everybody later today.

First off all, great synth intro, reminds me of some progressive rock songs I love, and also has a bit of a chiptune/videogame feel. Is it Gadget?

Not Gadget. This was Auria Pro with a couple of instances each of Zeeon, Poison-202, Moog Model D, and Lyra for the drums, and an IAA insert of GeoShred for the guitar part. Funny, I had no intention of anything prog-rock when I started the track, guess it just came out that way on its own lol.

I really enjoyed your track. You’ve got a distinctive sound even when changing up styles (which is a good thing). The guitar solo was awesome! I heard a little reggae influence in there in parts. Your overall production is getting very good too. Keep up the good work!
