Yes yes, take everything I say with a few pounds of salt grains π
@Michael thank you Dude for putting the Compatible Apps link back on the page. And thanks for fixing all the other headaches this episode had. Hopefully on to bigger things!
Haha that was a little pedantic of me wasn't it @SevenSystems π
No worries @NoiseHorse ! At least I didn't make it worse every time!
Ummm... no way of attaching photos. Yet? Oops, sorry! Suddenly appeared. How the hell does that happen!?
Yeah the Rich Editor UI loads asynchronously. If your connection is slow it'll take a moment
It is indeed laughable how easy it is to scan for vulnerabilities. It’s all scripted and automatically updated with the latest exploits. It’s so easy I got bored messing with it (in a proactive / professional / defensive role, not as a hacker). It may seem pointless to even try to keep up with security patches, but it isn’t.
People are foolish enough to use the same passwords on many systems. For those who do that, a breach here could lead to compromise of all accounts using that same password. It can happen in no time at all, or months or years later. Hijacking systems to hack other systems, or to launch denial of service attacks, is also a widespread problem, and can go undetected for a long time.
It’s a thankless task, but as someone somewhat in the know, I for one appreciate that you make the effort.
Every single update that fixes some security issue will probably introduce new ones π and break everything non-security related in the meantime π yes I know... very black and white... maybe I've been lucky so far. I'm not extremely quick or enthusiastic with security updates, and the only occasion when I can remember I got actively exploited was with that widespread BIND vulnerability (well, one of the dozens π) in 1999.
Others are obviously not so lucky. I do a bit of "hobby systems administration" for a client (making sure to constantly remind them that I'm not a professional systems administrator and give no guarantees at all), and all of their servers are completely compromised, to the point where the web server directories are full of "r00t.php" and the original php files riddled with strange "alien-looking" exploit code, and frankly, they don't give a damn. I guess it's similar for 95% of other companies π
Korg Gadget 2 thread seems broken....cannot get in, other threads are OK...same when using chrome on Win 7 and safari on iPad
Getting 'Something has gone wrong.' message when trying to open the thread.
Yes the last page of the Korg Gadget thread is broken, multiple browsers, logged in or not:
Same.
kOrG h@cKeD ouR tHread π’
I think I was the last to post in there before it crashed.
Came up with some error as I did it, the post went though, then got the error above..
Strange!
its possible to check all pages in the Gadget thread, except the last/25th

This isn't necessarily a problem or bug report per se, but since the forum changed I have little desire to visit and participate. Scanning the threads has become more tedious somehow, and I'm sure the problems with having to manually delete drafts + inability to clip quotes have probably been mentioned by now.
Maybe I'm just bad at change, but after a couple weeks with this layout I feel an extreme disconnect with it.
+1 on that one, but apparently it's being worked on so hopefully it will be usable at some point in time again...
(Quoting is 'broken' as there is no way to select what part is quoted and multi-level quotes are a pita to edit but anyways).
Korg thread's fixed now.
@oat_phipps, @Samu: I'm sorry to hear you feel that way! Can you be more specific about your concerns? I'm actually finding the new Keystone theme much superior (I usually access the forum on mobile, and it's a big improvement, but I quite like it on the desktop too). Concur with the editor; as I've said many times, I'm reverting back to the old one as soon as it's been fixed. I'm bugging the developers about it often.
@Michael Audiobus forum has lot of content everyday, and that’s true that the new interface still don’t allow for displaying as much threads on iPhone screen that older one. In everyday use, that makes a difference, and more efforts are involved just to check all new threads/posts. Some immediacy has been lost. I can check the forum 10 or 50 times per day, and I’m sure some users check even more. New forum allows to see 9 threads at a time, older one 12.
I think color scheme can also still lack some contrast. This can help a lot in checking/reading very quickly forum content.
So I think there is still some room to improve forum graphics for better ergonomics.
For all other issues, they will be fixed sooner or later, and I’m very confident with how you manage all of that :-)
Thanks heaps @Janosax! I'll sort that out =)
Okay. How's that, @Janosax, @oat_phipps, @Samu, assuming you're all on iPhone?
@Michael Much better, perhaps you could now increase thread title font size a very little bit, as it’s a little small on 7 Plus.
Better now?
@Michael still a bit small. This gives 14 threads on screen (first screenshot). I’ve zoomed in and 13 threads seems to be the magic number for me (second screenshot). This should give you an idea of font size:

@Michael I'm using multiple devices to access the AB Forum (Mac, iPhone & iPad).
The main 'gripes' with the new wysiwyg editor is the way it handles quotes. It's especially it's tricky, next to impossible to select which part to quote to avoid super long nested messages. (This is where I preferred the 'old' editor with level arrows).
I do like the new UI style and colours, it looks good on all the devices so that's a definite improvement!
Anyways In due time I'll probably get used to the quirks. The 'helpers' to add bold, strike to a selection just feel like a bit too much?! (Maybe I'm too old-school but I do prefer manual mark-up).
As said, I'll most likely assimilate with time :D
Like I've said, @Samu , I'm reverting to the original editor as soon as it's been fixed. Cos yes, the new one is abysmal
@Michael I’ve used the forum much more today, ok Gadget 2 has been released, but threads display tweak did the trick for me π
Anybody knows how to quote only part of a message without quoting the whole enchilada?
Even the suggestions from the Vanilla forum don't work.
Fix for the previous editor coming in today apparently. Should be restored shortly.
That's great, @Janosax
@Michael a heads-up, Doug's thread KORG Gadget 2 - NEW Instant Style & Beat Creator - Tempo Change & More is no longer accessible, due to the error we are now all becoming familiar with:
Also, have you heads-upped the developers of the “.png files are legal, but .PNG files are forbidden” bug? (attachments)
I was quoted in a comment and it never showed up in my Notifications.
