@elf_audio I've noticed that Koala does some kind of 'transient detection' after the sound is sampled which is super neat
For longer recordings I'd love to see either a 'zoom' feature and/or an optional 'snap to next detected transient' or something like that when moving the start & end points
And well, a 'lazy chop' feature would be awesome, ie. start the recording and just tap on the next pad and continue recording. In short behind the scenes do one long recording but set the start & end points for the pads based on when the next pad was tapped(ie. a lazy way to pre-slice the recording).
Can't wait to see what's cooking for future updates of Koala
Maybe 'velocity sensitive pads'(either radial or vertical touch) that can control the start-offset of the sample?
o_O what’s the Push version about? Any chance you’ll make it publicly available?
Yeah. I am wondering what that is all about.
@bounce at the moment , the push thing is pretty rudimental, definitely want to release it but after I've conquered landscape mode and a few other urgent features. It will probably run on a raspberry pi
Apparently it’s also a Standalone MAC app aswell.
The thing I hope the most for: that Koala stays as simple as it is now
It is so much fun even for people who don’t „do“ music at all
@Zaubrer i agree . Just a few tweaks and import to selected pads. Not too much else
@elf_audio imagine being able to import directly from the pad. You hit a new re designed Import button in the Sample window then tap the pad to import to or vica versa and Audioshare etc pops up. :-) Smooth and can then import to any pad bank.
Yep! Feature creep is the worst that can happens to software development.
I have a small and cosmetic request on the perform page. Would it be possible to add to the FX pads some kind of graduation (pitch : a mark every 2 semi tones, stutter : at 1/2, 1/3, 1/8 and so on for the other) it would largely help when performing, even if i’m getting used to it the way it is !!
what are some examples of feature creep?
Something like this
This. new features are great as long as it doesn't impact the workflow or introduce performance bugs
Ha, good one.
@jazzmess @elf_audio this is a good suggestion and to be able to save Performance settings too.
Hi All
Just submitted latest version to Apple - features:
And lots of little tweaks and bug fixes. Assuming there are no more evil bugs, next on list is Landscape mode, just got to do a couple of weeks of real work to pay the bills first!
Thank you! Great work!
Thanks @elf_audio !
@elf_audio cheers dude. I been missing Koala . Hopefully will be running smoother now.
Hurry up Apple I am very much looking forward to this update
If a sample is in one shot mode, and I want to stop it... Is there a way?
Even changing it one shot off isn't stopping it when I press it again, the longer samples still play to the end
@elf_audio Thank u for the update!
@elf_audio this app is so fun, I love using it, thanks for making it!
Good stuff @elf_audio and thank you
@elf_audio excellent work the new update is live and all seems to be working :-)
This is indeed something that should be addressed. It would make sense to me also if it just stopped when you switch off one shot
That would make ‘one shot’ act more like ‘latch until end of sample’ which is not always desirable... the second tap would be like ‘un-latch’ meaning if I would want to re-trigger the one-shot sample I would have to double-tap the pad with a one-shot sample...(ie. first tap to stop the one-shot from playing and another tap to trigger it again).
A reminder to those who dig Koala, especially those who spend a lot of time suggesting changes and/or feature additions... make sure you spend a little time giving this app a good review in the AppStore.
I always do that for the apps I really like...
...just have to remember to give the stars for the updates as well
