  • I bought it thinking landscape would have been here way before now. It it very unusable in the current state for me. I will have to keep waiting.

  • I suggest tackling landscape at your earliest convenience, as it it a show-stopper for a segment of users, and it can influence the UI design for subsequent features. If you delay adding landscape you may need to revisit more UI decisions that were based on a portrait-only perspective.

  • I still think you could just lay the portrait views next to each other rather than in tabs or something...

did it get landscape mode yet?

  • I finally bought this today and I’m kind of obsessed. But yes, def looking forward to landscape mode for iPad!

Me too for landscape. Prority for me though so need choke groups waveform zoom & pad or bank mutes/solo. I know I mentioned before but theres so much can be done with Koala just those fundamental tweaks

  • Same. Landscape.

  • nope he didn’ t read the post. ;) I was in a hurry, i figured that was the fastest way to figure out that it still didn’t have landscape mode. boo. hopefully next update. because this app keeps getting used by me more and more @kobamoto said:

OK, that’s even more funny. Would have been faster just to open the app and check. 😂

(Sorry man, just having some fun with ya’.)

  • @elf_audio Thanks for the update, love the new fx. Have only been using Koala for a few days but really like the workflow, quite similar to 404 and actually enjoyable to use on iPhone.

+1 on all the suggestions by @stormbeats and @EyeOhEss . Envelope per pad is the main one for me, would make playing melodic stuff a lot easier.

Would also love an fx send button for each pad, so you could turn off certain pads from being effected.

  • @cretakano @elf_audio yes fx send per pad would be excellent

I know what that's like, sometimes I don't wanna even open up an app when I know some important things aren't there, I can't beta test anything for the same reason

  • Can i put a fx on a sample after I recorded it?

Yeah but you need to resample it to another pad if you wanna bake the fx.

    But how?

  • Oh thanks. Iike that

  • yeah, I've enjoyed the moments I've had with koala. What a lovely sampler!
but as it is, without landscape mode it sits there largely unused. I'd love to use it in conjunction with other apps and it still feels like it's on its own island stuck in portrait mode.

  • I like it the way it is. Like a po33 on my iPhone 8.

But there is no way to changes notes/ midis in recorded sequences, right ?

Same, I only use on iPhone and it's brilliant. I think the design decisions that are forced by designing to the smaller portrait screen help foster the ease of use (like good hardware that this was inspired by).

Still, some don't have iPhones and the persistent call here for landscape means there is a user need to be met. I like @wim idea of just lining up the three mini portrait views next to each other. That way, design decisions still are governed by small screen.

@elf_audio if possible - when taking the Hold Off in Performance can you give the option when going back to Hold On the previous settings are retained. Total reset is ok but I get a good setting go back to sequence record then often want to get the last Hold setting I had but its gone.
Iam thinking Settings/ Retain Hold Performance setting when toggle on/off

I love this app too, new effects are also great for sound texture loop creation.

Thanks for all those features added in a short time!!

Am I the only one to ask for Y velocity (or volume) control pads? @elf_audio

True. I don't mind the small space, but I only have an iPad that sits landscape in it's keyboard case, so I have to use koala like a sideways emoji ;)

  • does Koala have a normalizer?
