New update is live. Background audio is nice.
That's why I asked. I have a SP-404, and it seems the limitations is what drives it
One I would think would be cool was a compressor as Mix FX
Can you edit the fx levels in Koala?
no level control on the input (sample) fx. (more bass, more treble, fuzz, robot, reverb, octave up, octave down, bass synth)
level control on the perform fx = yes. (crush, pitch, comb, ring, reverb, stutter, gate, filter).
i wish that the developer @elf_audio would release the fuzz, crush, pitch, comb, stutter and gate as separate effects with more control. the fuzz sounds as close to a fuzz pedal as i've heard on ios, the gate is unique/useful/unexpectedly smooth, and the stutter reminds me a little of the one in Protein Der Klang (unfortunately without PDK's cool waveform visuals).
Koala is just such an amazingly versatile and useful sampler. Just started playing it in AUM with the built in keyboard and sequencers, so much fun.
Really fun to get a sequence going and then mess with the effects, piping them through other effects in AUM too.
Wish I could use midi cc’s to modulate Koala’s effects, that would be a game changer for me.
@elf_audio the Gate effect is still not working. Anyone else have this issue?
Yeah sorry @stormbeats next update is “FX update 1”, 8 new fx, fixed old FX (including gate), some other small goodies, possibly including stereoizer. Still need to put about 8 more hours work into it. Hopefully can squeeze that in this week!!
@elf_audio ok cool - stereoizer would be ace.
@elf_audio Regarding support for USB audio interfaces...
While It's nice to have the L & R and C option it's still tricky to access more channels if the interface has more than two inputs so it would be nice to be able access those too
And for the 'built-in' mic there is a way to select which of the mics to use on the iOS device(Back, Front etc.).

As someone who has struggled on iPhone to use headphones and use the onboard mic simultaneously I'd love to see this support in koala.
nice app..please add:
But seriously... Landscape mode for iPad users, please, petty please?
@SlowwFloww @elf_audio 100000000% agree
@elf_audio hoping for a zoom waveform option in sample edit.
+whatever makes it one more vote
so many great suggestions here,
Landscape mode would definitely move this app towards the top of my most used list.
It’s a great app, but my iPad is docked in landscape 75% of the time and my iPad holder can’t swivel without mucking up my cord situation.
@tja I think you're missing the beauty of the Koala. It's not just for sampling things. It's for quickly building up a loop and then very quickly creating variations on that loop, all using samples. It's a lot like TriqTraq, but the results (at least for me) are nothing like that. It's a really enjoyable way to create quickly. I don't have many apps that can do this at all.
This is so well said and describes what I love about the app perfectly.
