Also, just released 1.5.3.
Here's the change log:
Working well on Air 2 in AUM!
It seems a pretty common request is to add the ability to replicate the right side transpose strip by sending midi notes to it... Is there any chance you’ll add the ability to master transpose via midi and/or expose params to AU/CC automation or mapping to controllers?
Thanks for testing :] And yes, been getting requests for that... I'll definitely look into it before going back to main project.
Fantastic! That's the game changer I was waiting for! Thank you @Alexandernaut !
Just went on sale .... 50% off
So maybe I have missed this. Is there a way to have multiple patterns or sequences in one instance of Fugue?
Thanks.
Each instance has access to the presets that you have saved in yhe host.
I've always wondered if there's a way to make the grid smaller to play faster, shorter notes...,?

How do you get MIDI in to Fugue Machine? I can’t see how to import a midi file or record into it from a sequencer?
I would like to know too
That would be fantastic (real-time input while playheads are running would be very cool). Unfortunately, recording or importing are not possible, you have to draw in your notes by hand.
However, once in Fugue Machine you can copy / paste between the standalone version and the AU instances.
Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking about subdividing notes to create ratchets? Unfortunately there aren’t editing tools like that in FM.
Or do you just want more granular grid divisions? You can increase the bar count (up to 8 bars) and then increase the playhead speed (up to 8x) to get up to 1/128th notes at the smallest grid division. You'll only have one bar at that speed, but, obviously, other playheads at slower rates will have longer cycle times (at 1/64 dotted speed it will take 768 bars to traverse that sequence!)
Thank you. That’s a shame you have to create the midi lines all within the app. Far more limiting for me than I expected.
@Alexandernaut any chance we can request this for a future update, please? It would be so good to be able to create midi lines in Quantum, Xequence, Rozeta etc. And then import them into the Fugue Machine playheads.
Thx!
Is there any way to import a short midi melody file into the Fugue Machine piano roll?
real-time input while playheads are running would be really really nice
I would totally second the suggestions to 1) allow a live midi input and/or 2) a way to import existing MIDI files from other apps. I would love to be able to route Autony and Cality live into Fugue Machine for it to do it’s thing, or failing that, to be able to route captured MIDI from Atom piano roll into it.
That is a fabulous idea!!
Just bought it on sale. It works pretty well inside Cubasis 3 but since I mostly use NS2 as my main DAW It's pretty useless to me
a. bottom controls are cut (probably an issue in NS2)
b. no way to control playheads live via midi input
Oh well.. Still, a really cool midi plugin.
Does NS2 open AUs in a fixed window? Are you saying you don't see any of the controls under the piano roll? Definitely sounds like an issue with NS2 as it works fine in e.g. Audiobus (that also has a fixed AU window).
Still you could run it in standalone or hosted elsewhere and route the MIDI to NS2 (I personally run it in AUM as I can have multiple, resizable AU windows open)
Remote control of parameters is something that just about everyone wants! However, FM is designed to be a "playable" sequencer that you play as an instrument. Still it wouldn't hurt to ask @Alexandernaut !
Yes! Definitely one of my favorites!
It's a fixed window, on an iPhone.
So it's completely unusable inside NS2 but as I wrote in my previous post, renders fine in Cubasis3. NS2 has issues with the rendering of other plugins, such as GeoShred.
If everyone wants it, I think it's a good enough reason to add it
@god, thanks for this. I actually limit the size Fugue Machine can shrink to, it ran into usability issues going too small. Been planning to rewrite some stuff to go even smaller, which would fix your issue. Will try to get to that soon. Also, I'm actually wrapping up a big task for my other project, so a fugue machine update may make sense in the near future 👨🏻🔧.
And thanks for sharing the info, @aplourde :]
Yay! Thank you!
