Can I install this keyboard as one of the standard ones in iOS (like the other language keyboards)?
@TimRussell Yup that's exactly what it is.
Oh and I didn't post it here before but now it parses and displays chord symbols as you type
Cool! I'm getting it just for this!
Awesome! Let me know how it works out and if you have any suggestions. Also be sure to try out the other stuff - it does a lot!
Just installed the keyboard, really wonderful. Thank you @TonalityApp
@Pierre118 Glad you like it!
I'm looking for an AUv3 chord pad App that lets me quickly "arm" any one pad, play a chord on my midi controller, then quickly save that "played" chord to the pad, so every time I trigger that pad afterwards, it will play the chord.
Can Tonality do that?
@horsetrainer that’s actually what I’m working on right now!
Version 6.2 is out now with a new swap tool and more chord pad preset options (secondary dominants).
Got it, thanks for the update too @TonalityApp
@Faland enjoy!
@TonalityApp - like the idea but how do you get out of the keyboard back to the normal qwerty one in notes app etc? Otherwise great app and ideas.
@ajmiller Tap the globe button in the bottom left corner. Let me know if it doesn't work.
Also apologies everyone; the chord pad AU has an unexpected bug with the newest 6.2 release and creating preset scale chord layouts. I'll push a fix as soon as possible
Edit: I just fixed it and the update is pending review. Hopefully it'll be out soon. If you see this before updating to 6.2, just wait for 6.2.1
I can get access to the tonality keyboard but can’t get back out of it. There’s only a small keyboard icon in the bottom left.
@ajmiller strange. Can you send a screenshot?
Confirmed. Crashes every time i try to create a pad set.
@TonalityApp - I install the Tonality keyboard ok. Go to comment box here or notes app and switch from the normal keyboard to the Tonality one using the globe. All ok - but then I have no way of backing out to the normal keyboard. iPad Pro 11” (13.2.3).
@MrBlaschke Again really sorry. I just pushed the fix to Apple. I wish there were a faster way to get it out there.
@ajmiller I'll definitely look into this. I haven't been able to recreate it on any of my devices, but I have an inkling of an idea as to what's going on. It may be related to the newest iOS but I'm not entirely sure. If anyone else has this issue and can contribute please let me know.
@ajmiller Okay looked into it a bit more. Apple requires that I allow the system to hide the switching key I made if it decides it wants to (for example on some devices like yours that I think are supposed to provide their own switch below the keyboard). I don't know why it's calling that for you and then not showing the system one. I'll continue to look into it. Do you have any other custom keyboards?
@TonalityApp - thanks - it seems the ‘newest iOS’ has a few issues tbh - I did try a reset as well btw. Great idea though and something I have been after for a while. Cheers.
Thanks for your understanding. It sucks that you came across Tonality at this moment; it seems every day I have to fix some weird new iOS-related bug. One other idea – maybe try portrait orientation?
@TonalityApp - hey no worries. Had your app for a while now and loving it. I’ve tried different combinations of keyboards - I use French sometimes - and portrait mode and it didn’t solve it. I presume there’s a globe supposed to be there? Just as another pointer I do use a Bluetooth keyboard sometimes so I switched Bluetooth off and it still didn’t help. Must be a pain all the variables. Ps - I just tried it on my iPhone and it works fine and I see the globe!
@ajmiller Yeah there’s a globe. I filed a report with Apple; I’m almost positive it’s something on their end with the recent iOS updates.
@MrBlaschke Okay 6.2.1 is out with the fix
Just went to report the crash and @TonalityApp has already fixed it. Cheers
@horsetrainer Just finished implementing that feature! Should be out in a day or two
Awesome!
I'm looking forward to it.
Thank you.
@horsetrainer Decided to add a few more tools to complement that before releasing (such as renaming pads), but rest assured it’s coming soon.
@horsetrainer
Out now (or soonish, don’t know how long it’ll take the App Store to update). Let me know if you have any suggestions.
