@audiblevideo definitely impressed after several jams with it. I‘m especially interested in the midi out, but haven’t had much time to dig into it yet. I know there’s a few vids on YouTube, hoping to have sometime this weekend to really give it a go. Thanks.
question:
when you have the metronome icon playing thru the chords in the chord looper, if you’re not touching the screen the chords don’t trigger while its cycling, i like this 😎 but when you are playing on the radar jamming out the chords trigger automatically triggers a chord when it advanced to the next one...i don’t like this 😎 what i’m trying to figure out is if you can make the chord looper cycle thru the chords but only play them when you want them too not just if you’re touching the screen , i like that it cycles thru to add variation, but don’t don’t want the note to trigger on the 1 but rather play it myself on the 3
Hit the ‘...’ at the bottom of the chord list on the left edge. In the pop up window, at the bottom, hit ‘advanced’. At the bottom of the Advanced window, there are some options for chords changing. To the right is the option you want to turn off, so the looper doesn’t advance on every touch.
wow i totally missed that menu 😎🤣 ty man
so ya if anyone else is wondering, follow instructions above and select “ never” for “ update radar notes on new chord”
@reasOne have you played around with the Arrangement feature?
You hit the button that looks like a conductor on the floating widget.
You can create chord progressions with chord durations in bars or beats.
You can also string these progressions together into a whole song, with some cool options.
Make sure you use the Save button in this dialog to save anything you whip up.
Is it possible to configure a cc# to y and x axis of instrument A and B, so you can set e.g. filter cutoff for the synths you control with Midi (Non PME mode)
i haven’t given it much effort yet but it sounds narly. probably going to fire it up right now 😎😎
ive mostly been jamming out on the radar just creating awesome lil soundscapes with the internal instruments and also midi out to other synths while recording the data in to drambo.
can you record live into the arranger or is it step input?
oh that was easy to figure out @CracklePot !
that arranger is really dope. great job again @moodscaper
just set it up with a great piano from TS and midi out to model 15 and got some amazing bass layered with piano chords. no need to mute TS let ‘em play side by side
Hey guys - thanks again @CracklePot - you're doing way too much customer service on my behalf, and doing it better than I can!![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/blush.png)
At the moment, I'm afraid not. But I may just have a cunning plan for a future update...![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Ohhh, nice. That would bring a little more movement (sound wise).
You are very welcome.
I am obviously a huge fan of this app, your other apps, and you as a developer.
I am happy to help, and I sincerely hope it gets a few more people interested in Touchscaper, and helps others who might be a little baffled when first trying out the app.
🤙🏻
@moodscaper thanks for the back to host shortcut button.. that makes life easier in AUM.. + the show/hide chord looper button.. very useful option.. 👏
Yes thanks @moodscaper for adding shortcut back to host glad I suggested it.
No problemo @Jumpercollins - yeah, thanks for reminding me about it! Somehow that one had slipped off the to-do list down the back of the sofa or something![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
While I'm here... I'm kinda curious about drums MIDI out. I've only had a few people mention it, or is everyone just being super nice and waiting patiently figuring I'll get to it eventually?
My "logic" was to see what folks would say as I felt that maybe everyone already has their favourite drum apps, so if you're doing a MIDI setup, you're probably going to use your favourite drum apps built-in sequencer or whatever.
I'm about to pick up the app, and I was actually wondering whether the drums could do midi out, too. I'm thinking they could be useful for other things as well; send notes to Rozeta apps for pattern changes, send to Mozaic script which converts to CC which is sent to the main A/B app you're playing for even further modulations ... my vote is yay for drums midi out.
And while we're at it, with modulations and all, one or two floating XY pads for CC midi out never hurts:)
Basically, everything that makes Touchscaper a superior expressive instrument.
Not a dealbreaker but definitely nice-to-have, mainly because the probability engine means that the drums are quite varied, and I haven't seen another drum sequencer that does it quite like the way Touchscaper does it.
I think it would be handy so that all the sequencing can be kept in the one app. One of the great things about Touchscaper is that you can create your entire song in there... it would be great to be able to do this while experimenting with using different drum apps.
I haven't said anything because you've been doing so much with this app that I felt it was kind of "embarrassing" to ask yet for more but, as @Michael_R_Grant already said, it's good to have it all in one app and second, the step sequencer is just too good to be left alone...
Please add drums midi out 🙏 As others already mentioned, it's good to have all the sequencing in one app.
Yes, would also love to see midi out for drums![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
MIDI out drums shall be done!
If all goes according to plan, hopefully should be done in a few days - so hopefully weekend or shortly after. Option to have percussion sequence as a separate source might be nice... I also have a few ideas for some "twists" that I hope you might like ![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smiley.png)
@moodscaper love the westworld score Rob. :-)
You do realise you are going to get hounded for custom backgrounds now though ;-)
Amazing!
+1 for custom backgrounds 😀
Now that midi out is being ironed out, i want to ask if AUv3 is still being thought of - or if that‘s sunken to the end of the feature requests list.
In my opinion if used as AUv3 it wouldn‘t need the drum & percussion sequencing, not even the internal instruments - i would love to use it as expressive midi generator for live sessions. State saving of all midi settings and scenes is essential to change between different songs by loading a new host session.
@_ki - short answer is, yes AU is still very much being thought of
I can't say for sure what features or functions would be available in an AU version of touchscaper right now because I need to think about it more. Sorry I can't really say any more about AU support at this point, other than it's probably the next major piece of work planned after MIDI out for drums. So sorry folks, custom image backgrounds will have to wait ![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I'm in this camp.
Yes please!
Also, bump Custom background Image up the list. Cheers.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Rob, can I just say that Touchscaper is an absolute dream! Pushing this though AUM, driving DRC through MIDI and with 6144 eq on the end - good god that’s good! Please keep up the excellent work.
Thanks guys! Made some progress with drums MIDI out this morning. Here's a quick test / demo.
