Cool - looking forward to that! Can the “synth” on that same screen currently go out via MIDI?
@Hypervox - the sequencer synth is MIDI out capable already. It's only the drums / percussion that aren't MIDI out(able) yet...![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Update 1.4.8 is out
-added support for sequencer drums MIDI out (boom!)
Should be nothing but fun!
Thank you for the update Rob.. now take some time to breathe.. relax.. 🙂
@royor - I'm taking the rest of the day off
Back to "work" tomorrow... got some (hopefully) interesting sequencer ideas...
loving the drum sequins video!
Really a delight all the magic that keeps flowing from this wonderful app.
Awesome, thanks for adding this functionality 👍
@moodscaper
Thanks for adding drums midi out and for the video 😊👍
Good work @moodscaper , enjoy some downtime.
Thanks Rob, that's really great. I like the feature where you can combine different sounds in one track. This app is so deep!
Odd time signatures is working good too but I've noticed that the steps always remain at 16. This makes working with 5/4, 3/4 and other time sign. difficult to program. I don't know how complicated it would be but in my world, the step sequencer could adapt to the number of beats pr measure in the tempo settings. That would be x times 16th notes with their accents and color shade per 4th note.
I can see it would be a major change so I'm not going to press you in this regard. The chord changes works well when programming changes after x beats or measures (although I have to test it more) - and this is the part I like most.
Thanks again for an amazing work.
Rob, when you're entering chords into the arranger, is there a way to use the touchscaper piano keyboard to enter/preview them? I found myself playing chords in another app before putting them into touchscaper and if there was a way to do this without leaving the app it would be cool...
Version 1.4.9 is out:
• new drums, percussion and synth sounds from my favourite analog gear!
• additional synth sequencer track (touch - synth2)
• new advanced sequencer options for arp, track direction and variable steps (crazy times)
• additional misc fixes & tweaks
Thanks @White
@moodscaper I really like the new advanced sequencer options.. it doesn't take much to make something sound "less sequenced".. variable step lengths + track direction.. all excellent additions to an already excellent app.. thanks for the update..
in case anyone missed it.. Rob goes through the new stuff here..

touchscaper tips - new features in 1.4.9
Fast becoming one of my favorites to just jam with.
I have to spend more time with this.
It’s amazing how touchscaper keeps growing and growing.
I'm a new user really liking this for live jamming with one hand on the iPad and one on other stuff. Maybe my ears are missing something, but it looks like you can't reliably create 9th and 13th chords. I mean a chord voiced so that the 9th or 13th is always the top note as opposed to a sus2 or 6th chord. This is because, in the advanced view, you specify the probability values within octave boundaries. I would like to, for example in the C4 config, choose dice for C4, E4, G4, Bb4, and D5 (leaving D4 blank) while also being able to choose dice for the C5 range separately. So then my scene's D5 would have two separate probabilities, one in the C4 settings and one in the C5 settings, though that second one would be zero. The same would go for the other 9th chords involving Db and D#, and then the 13th chords with Ab, A, and A#. Maybe even the #11, F#.
If there's no current workaround for this, I guess I'm asking for a feature where you could assign those seven notes representing the upper partials two probabilities: one normal probability and one octave-up probability. Maybe a longpress or something like that?
Hi @blipson - you're correct, that is indeed a limitation of the app right now. It was really designed around "simple" music theory and 3 or 4 note chords confined to one octave. However, you can work around that, as you say, but it's a bit of a fight I'm afraid - it's the compromise between making stuff like that easy for maybe people who aren't that advanced in music theory and those who are, such as yourself. I'll certainly have a think about more flexibility, but that sort of stuff gets pretty complicated pretty quick.... :-/
On an unrelated note, does "Zorchzorch" hang out here? Seems like they're having issues but I'm not entirely clear what they are (App Store review)
@blipson You just need to use 2 octaves for a 2 octave chord, is all.
Put your ninth or thirteenth in the next octave up, and take out the root, third, and fifth.
To play those extended notes, play in both corresponding octave rings.
You can even make two separate chords, one a ninth, the other a thirteenth, on the same root. Just add chords and set them up with the right notes for what you want. The button labels will stay the same though, so you have to be able to remember which buttons go with which extended chord.
Thanks, that sounds like a usable workaround, though practically speaking, it's limited.
Thanks, that's my #1 request, as the app already does so much that it feels like a self-contained instrument at this point. I'd be happy to beta-test any ideas you have for expanding the sonic palette with extended chord-types.
Just got this app and initially thought it was a walled garden type of thing (which is fine by me, I like being hemmed in sometimes). But man, after working with it and watching a couple videos I'm pretty much enthralled with it. I think this is what I've been searching for in my ramblings with semi-generative apps - and I've got a few.
Really top stuff and I'm just getting into it. Thanks!
@moodscaper
Hey Rob, seriously jonesing for a ‘Save All’ button! Seems like a must-have. A nice-to-have would be separate stem outputs for each of the instruments etc.
That said, this is hands-down the most fun and most creative app on the platform! 👏🏻 Major respect and admiration!
Agreed, saving is a mess, I'm sure it'll be fixed at some point.
Btw, pretty nice, the most recent self-playing jam that was posted:

Dang, this just keeps getting better and better.
Yes, that's going to be good. Not only for synths lacking aftertouch, but also for modulating FX chain parameters and effect sends.
@moodscaper, would be nice if one could tap on a node in the CC column to momentarily disable it.
Amazing!
Can’t wait!😌❤️
Wow that preview just blew my mind. Awesome stuff.
The update is out.
Remember to update your review/rating, too.
