Wait, did it go up? Was it $7.99 and now it's $8.99?

FYI-I pre-ordered earlier today and paid $7.99 so it has increased a dollar since about 11 am EST. I had the same thing happen with either 4pockets MTR or EG Pulse (I can't recall which). I ended up paying a dollar more because I didn't pull the trigger before the surprise pre-order price increase.

  • I love his apps, but I truly am unmoved by acid house. There's not a single song in this thread that I would listen to again. This app is not for me, alas.

And yet the idea that the price might be inching up hourly is filling me with existential panic!

  • This activity could be a sign that its about to be released into the App Store?.... when it gets released the price is to be raised. Maybe it’s going into that final phase 🤔

  • 8.99 € (euros) here, be careful not to confuse the various currencies, the price varies depending on the currency and the country in which you live.

If you like funk, it makes for some incredibly funky bass when you slow it down to around 93 bpm. You can get a really busy finger style bass lick going on with it

Also not much of a fan of the genre, but getting it anyway to see if I can bend it to my own purposes.

Nah man don't worry I got you, that shit sucks

Yep!... It’s not just about the Acid sound.. It was originally made as a Bass accompaniment... It’s a programmable Bass module.. DJ Pierre, & DJ Spanky (Phuture Phantasy Club).. Made the sound by accident.. Which looking for new ways to invent a new genre.. They bought it for 50 bucks, in a second hand shop (they had no money).. After Roland stop making them, as Roland thought it wasn’t popular enough.. Hence the TB303 shortage..

  • Too early for an “already dead” thread?

  • Naysayer ignore activated.

  • yep pre-order is £8.99 in UK...have pre-ordered..

.... will probably get the Behringer clone too once released...also eyeing up their 808 clone....this app will keep the GAS at bay for a little while at least :)
Fatboy Slim said Everybody needs a 303, I think everybody needs as many 303's as they can get their hands on :D

Naa that was a Roland sh1000 apparently :D hand played by all accounts too

  • Oh no! Not the "what synth did they use for Just an Illusion Bassline?" question. There's a great thread on Gearslutz if you're sad like me! So not a 303....

  • I stand corrected. I didn't realise the 303 use in it was just an illusion :D :D

  • Ummm. Anyone got any examples of tracks made with 303 pre-acid house? Would love to hear something.

Jam On It by Newcleus. The top line around 1:48. Not pre-acid house but not typical use.

  • I'm curious too to hear more than acid done on this style synth. I'm not much of an acid-style person, though honestly I don't know the genres that much. I just do music with synths and go from there.

  • I’m praying this drops over the weekend, as I’m sure many are. I’m ready for some acid techno 🙏

  • Right just so we're all perfectly clear: Just an illusion was released BEFORE the TB303....

That heaven 17 track is surprisingly squelchy still. Kinda prototype acid house sound. And that Newcleus record has an amazing sleeve!

Yeah good one although opinion seems to be split on whether it was actually a 303.

Anyway this use is still obviously influenced by acid house in the same way that so many 90's acts were: Sneaker Pimps etc.

How about something more akin to how Roland thought it would be used? As a bass guitar simulation...
