Is it possible for us to be able to save each session to the Files app in
a future update so that we can move sessions from looper to looper
similar to how I can move projects in Auria Pro and BM3?

    Sounds like a good idea.

    I've got a strange bug.

I have the most recent releases of L7 on both my iPhone and iPad Pro.

L7 will not open in standalone mode.

It does instantiate in AUM and AB2

As soon as I have the time, or until someone else
can confirm this, I will do a screen video to show.

    iPhone SE
    iPad Pro 9.7" 1st gen

    Both running iOS 13.3

Granted, I'm testing a version ahead of you, but even when I check out the release commit I don't get this problem. Others?

Not right now but I'll consider adding this in a future update.

  • Agreed, bring on Au, please. One of the reasons I purchased it.

Thank you, this would be great.

    @aure @danielfromcodalabs

    I had a test session in L7.
    Approx 12 tracks.
    Minimal effects.

The app as I mentioned before wasn't loading.
It stopped loading in standalone then it stopped loading in AUM.

I decided to delete the app and reinstall.

    It now loads up again.

If the session had been available then I would've been able to
save the track and be ready to continue the session after a reinstall.

I'm going to do another test session of a similar
amount of tracks and see if it happens again.

There was also a problem when running it together with Hey!Metronome.

Changing the tempo caused the loops in L7 to stop
syncing together and then it eventually crashed.

    Edit.

    After reinstall.

    Buffer set to 256

Using it in AUM as it gives me access to all of my interfaces inputs.

    7 tracks

No effects, loud noise and then it crashed again.

I can't seem to record the audio when screen recording.
I'm using an external audio interface.

I'll do some further testing later.

  • Would anyone like to beta test AUv3? Looking for 5 people who can test thoroughly and provide feedback. We want to make sure this is 100% solid before release. If interested, just email me at [email protected].

As far as time stretching and pitch shifting, i just want it to be as good as Cubasis. Are you using the zplane elastique algorithm by chance?

zPlane elastique does indeed power the time stretching in Cubasis, BM3, Ableton, and more. Though, the licensing fee is rather robust. It can be more expensive than most iOS music apps make in a year.

Coincidently, one of @danielfromcodalabs' old college professors is the co-founder of zPlane and helped write up those stretching algorithms. Small world!

    Maybe he’ll give us a discount 😜

Wow. Small world indeed. Thanks for the “insiders” info 👊🏼™️

  • Just released version 1.3, which adds AUv3 support! Update should be rolling out within the next hour or two (once the App Store servers refresh).

For feedback, it would be fastest and easiest to email me at [email protected].

    Cheers and enjoy!

Is there a way to get the au to ‘host sync’ apart from Ableton link?

Looking forward to having a play with this.

    Just Ableton Link for now.

    Thanks. It’s a cool app.

  • Is there any chance of an option for continual overdub on a loop until you want to stop it. So you can play in sounds with long decays that wrap around to build up sustained ambiences.

@danielfromcodalabs Getting ready to upload a 24 minute meandering looping jam using L7 this evening. The video just shows my process for recording loops and building up layers using Continua and some fx. The video is a direct recording of the whole process. Hope you like. Here’s a screen shot for the time being:

  • @danielfromcodalabs heres the recording of L7 from this evening. Best with headphones:

Thanks for a wonderful app on iPadOS. You and the team have done a great thing. 👊🏼™️

Very nice - are you using L7 as an IAA or AU? I’ve held off updating due to the reported issues.

You might have knocked me off the fence with Continua, sounds very good in that session.

Thanks. I inserted L7 as an AUv3 fox in AUM to record the Continua loops.

    +100

It's a good app and is developing quite nicely I must say.

  • I noticed in the video demos that there is no automatic fade-in/out & clicks are produced sometimes
Are there any plans for basic audio editing like fades,split/glue,move,cut/copy/paste ?

Basic volume automation is a possibility. The other features you mentioned put this closer to the realm of a DAW, which is out of scope for L7. If you want that kind of functionality, I'd recommend downloading Cubasis or FL Studio.

Thank you for the quick reply :) I totally understand that the app is simply a (great) looper , but to clarify about the fade in/out:
I mean 1ms fades on the beginning and end of the recording to avoid clicks

    Oooo…I like this idea.

Ah, got it. Yes you're right, that's a great idea. I'll see what I can do
