After trying one of the new presets (v1.2 folder), all I get is silence in Loopy Pro even when clicking on other presets (older, newer, all the same). I tried restarting the app then restarting the iPad. Still silence. Standalone works.

Your problem sounds similar to this post by @Robin2 . It's working for me using a recent iPad and iPadOS 26.3.1. Maybe you could investigate device/OS status to see if there's a correlation.

Thanks - yeah. I'm using M2 Air, iOS 18.xxxx (latest 18 version). Oh well. It's not like I lost a lot of money. I have wasted way more than that on junk food recently.

What buffer size and sample rate?

  • In Loopy Pro, those presets are playing fine for me . I tried all the presets in the v1.2 folder up to “Ring Out” on my iPad 6 (stuck at iOS 17.7.6)

Looks like you and @Robin2 are both on iPadOS 18. Maybe that's the common denominator. You could jump to iPadOS 26; I have an Air M2 like yours and 26 hasn't given me any problems, except a few old apps being retired.

I just tried my iPad Air M2 with iOS 18. The v1.2 presets are working for me.

  • On one occasion I suddenly lost sound from Continua 1.2 but it's not happened again and I've had no issues at all with 1.2 or the presets otherwise. May have been user error on that occasion.

  • @tubespace I had the beta version installed, then I bought Continua, and after downloading it from the app store, it most likely installed over the beta version. I had the same problem. After trying a couple of presets, the sound disappeared. Then I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and everything was fine again.

Might not be related, but I pointed out a bug to them where adjusting release time can lead to silence or other weirdness. They admitted it was a bug and will fix it

Curious. What host were you testing in (they always worked fine in standalone)? I’ve just tried again and they worked in Drambo (where they weren’t before) but still not working in Audio Evolution.

I really like Audio Damage apps but I do find they more often than not have some sort of reliability issues.

Just checked and I was on 512 frames buffer and 44100 Hz. Usually I would be set on 48000 Hz so changed it to that but the sound still cuts out after a few notes are played with one of the 1.2 presets.

Just realized though that I’m using a beta version of AEMS, so I’ll install the public release in case that’s the cause.

Many thanks for testing it at your end, much appreciated.

Nope, public release gives the same results.

Changed the buffer to 256 frames and thought that had fixed it but no, sound eventually cut out again.

Really weird thing: once the sound cuts out, no presets in any category result in sound being heard except for ‘As acid as it gets’ and ‘Whopper’ in the Bass category - selecting them results in sound but all others result in silence?

  • It's working again - good news. I shut down Loopy Pro and Continua standalone and rebooted the iPad once again. I was prepared to delete and reinstall Continua if needed be.
But nice to have it functioning with all of the presets. It's a cool app with a lot of movement in each note. I look forward to digging into it a bit more in order to make my own presets.

Trying those some patches in that order and running my fingers along the keyboard like you are isn't causing problems.

Do you have MPE on or off in the Continua settings?

Someone up-thread mentioned that they had a problem like you mention and that reinstalling fixed it. You might try exporting your custom patches, deleting and reinstalling.

MPE off. I’ll try a reinstall.

Worked for a while, then sound cuts out again. I guess I’ll just have to use it on my 9th Gen iPad where it seems to work okay. Very odd. Thanks for your help and suggestions @espiegel123, appreciate it, cheers.

Indeed. I just tried it hosted in AUM and when the sound cut out I noticed that a ‘Bad Signal’ label appeared on the channel. Something a bit more concrete to report, so I’ve now let Audio Damage know with this screenshot attached to the email. I’ll see what happens. Cheers.

That should help them figure it out.

Heard back, apparently it’s a known issue and they’re working on it. Thanks again for your help @espiegel123.

  • Working completely fine for me in GarageBand.

That might be the first time in history I’ve been able to say that in comparison lol
