That sounds weird, maybe contact
Moforte.
No idea!
steve99, I have 2 thoughts. 1) You can reach out directly to me at [email protected] for help. 2) You might try re-installing from scratch because sometimes overlay installs can cause issues. After the install do a "Restore Purchases". I also have an iPhone 7Plus. I'm sure that we can figure out what is going on.
They are monophonic .
The free version of GeoShred Play asks for an email address in order to turn on all the presets. If you said "I'll Do It Later" you can find "Subscribe" under "Menu> Subscribe". If you don't want to enter your email, just hit close when you get to the email entry screen and it will turn on all the presets anyway.
@moForte Is it possible to map vibrato amount to slide (cc74) when using seaboard as a controller with GeoSwam instruments?
He he big day, today 👐
Thank you @moForte !
Beside the GeoSwam instruments - which is already great - are there any other improvements/features in version 5 over the previous version ? Thank you 👍
Hopefully they are monophonic ! I dreamt of monophonic acoustic instruments on iOS. It’s the only way to have an articulation between 2 notes, thus expressivity. And here comes GeoSwam
I hope also one day Beathawk (v3?) will support monophonic instruments...
But maybe you meant : is it possible to disengage the articulations and go polyphonic ? I don’t know...
In any case, I think it should be possible to program a multi-monophonic setup (with keyboard splitting?)
I didn’t get the swam instruments, I’ll wait until I have something that calls for them, but the update is very smooth on my 8plus and my 2018 iPad.
@moForte Is there any chance that you could build a demo functionality into the swam iaps like Korg did with module?
I got the saxophone and cello. For some odd reason, I prefer emulating higher-pitched stringed instruments by artificial means (synth) to the more real-sounding thing, so I didn't get the violin. The saxophone is quite good, though I wonder if there is a way to get into Coltrane-wailing territory (besides actually having the talent and discipline to master the instrument). I think I'm going to wait for the swam app to cover more territory (clarinet, woodwinds, etc.).
^^This would really help inform my decision on these as well
Ok, thanks. I hope it will be possible one day to use a kind of multi phonic mode. For now, I can load several AU instances and use tools like Polythemus to split the midi signal
2nd edit: fixed by restoring free presets, see post below.
Thanks @moForte, I’ve been too busy playing on my iPad to worry too much, just thought I’d share here as I know you’re on the thread and others may have the same problem on a 7plus (?).
I tried a fresh install, restored purchases and initially managed to get to the new presets and play briefly (a few seconds), but then it soon crashed again and went back to freezing on start up, or if not that, then quitting out as soon as I try to select a preset.
This is in standalone iOS 13.5.1. Just tried in AUM as AUV3 and also crashing. I get the error message below, which I can ‘ok’, then play notes in ‘shred lead’, but again it quits if I try and change preset.
All good on my other devices though, very happy about that, thanks for bringing it to iOS.
Edit: not sure where my error screenshot has gone... the message I see in the AUV3 says “App Error - Cannot find setlist for index=44”
My 7+ problems seem sorted by following the advice in this post, i must have skipped that when I originally installed on the phone.
Yes, but it looks like we have an issue with this working. I've captured the issue so that we can fix it in the first incremental release in a week or so.
Update 10/22/2020 We looked at this today and it will be fixed in the first incremental bug fix release. We will also add a few presets that use this idea. I have it working with an internal build and I love it. Great idea!
Accumulated bug fixes, no new features.
They are monophonic. That is part of what makes automatic legato possible.
I will capture this idea for discussion and consideration in a future release.
@Steve99, I'm sure that we can solve this. Let's get up on Skype or Zoom. Please contact me directly at [email protected]
Just bought the Sax, it’s tremendous !
Now it’s GeoGrowl 🤣
At this level of quality, it will be difficult to resist to some other IAP...
Agree, picked up the sax and was pleasantly surprised, was expecting a six and it's at least a seven point five. Also got the cello and it's certainly nice, but Module (and others) all give it a run...
@moForte ....Not so. First I don't believe "play" was free, not when I bought it. Second, it doesn't work. I even subscribed and it didn't work. My preset sounds disappeared. OK my bad. They're just indexed differently, and I didn't try the index button because it kept showing just 2 presets. sorry thanks . Now I'll start deciding which swam(s)
@moForte fixed problem by activating the free presets. I’d installed Play, upgraded to Pro, bought Geocello IAP, but I’d skipped installing the free presets, that seems to have been the issue. Thank you for your offers to help.
@moForte Since the Jamstik Studio MIDI guitar is an MPE device will it work flawlessly and will it be recognized as an MPE device or is it only certain MPE devices like Roli/Linnstrument that is compatible?
I would ask the same about the Artiphon Instrument 1, also being an MPE controller - is it compatible?
@LinearLineman no. They are "instruments" not "libraries". They mimic exactly ONE instrument.
You can create polyphonic setup in hosts/DAWs supporting AUv3, for example you can do it using our Camelot Pro live performance App :-)
I was playing the Geocello with my Artiphon Instrument 1 yesterday, worked really well, apart from me getting stuck playing a cello version of "if you think I'm sexy" by Rod Stewart... such dark things lurking in the depths of my mind.
That was piping the midi from my desktop, no reason to think it wouldn't work direct. So long as it's an MPE capable controller you should be good.
And I was so close to pulling the trigger on buying the cello, but now...
I'm terrified what might come out if I get the sax.
I’ll definitely be looking into that cello, flute, and oboe when I’m not as broke. These sound great.
Also @moForte, ever consider making a lefty set up for the app? If the top bar had an option to be flipped, it would make it a lot easier for lefties to play more expressively
These are really really really really really really good! 🤯
These are literally a game changer on iOS with respect to realism and feel of the instruments. Yes I said it, Game Changer.
If you are new to this way of creating, as I am, take your time with it and treat it like a new instrument entirely.
If you are even remotely thinking you may spring for these, just grab the bundle and face the consequences.
This is especially true if you have an MPE controller (Sensel Morph, Roli Seaboard etc) and/or are using an MPE enabled DAW (Cubasis 3, GarageBand, ZenBeats, etc).
This is special. And yes I’ll be getting the @audiomodeling offerings too, whenever they drop. Any ideas when it’ll drop?
