  • no need to turn music industry into politics. a lot of cheap and cool tools is great.behringer overdid it a bit with black PR. I'm Jewish, and I will never miss a good deal.

  • Is there such thing as Contradiction Bias?

    I think I have that one. 🧐

You mean the leader who wasn't anti-semitic in the slightest, but who the racist media portrayed as a vicious anti-semite resulting in the viciously racist Tory party getting another 5 years? Those rows..?

  • Dear oh dear 🙄
This place used to be alright

  • And now .. who can't wait for Behringer CS80 clone ? That will be must-have for me :) Curious what will be price ...

  • Those of you coming late are misconstruing and misrepresenting most of what was said in the part of the thread that touched on anti-semitism.

Most of that part of the thread was not about whether the Behringer video was anti-Semitic.

A few participants repeatedly kept ignoring the point a number of people were trying to make (I.e. that people should not be called ridiculous or sick-minded for considering the possibility that the video made use of anti-Semitic imagery--even if the video wasn't intended to be anti-Semitic ) and repeatedly misrepresented what was being argued.

Based on recent comments, the misrepresenters seem to have succeeded. And it seems pointless to try to set the record straight because people are more interested in winning than understanding.

To the perpetually offended types :

    Behringer man bad.

So boycott Behringer and never buy their products again. Go for it.

You don’t have to write 30,000 posts about why you are so offended and why this is so outrageous.

Do we really need think pieces about this with pages of comments?

The virtue signaling is just insufferable.

Fair enough. For the record, I was referring to the reaction to it, not the doing of it. I feel like people could take a joke better in the past, and so life was more fun. If that video was directed at me I’d be laughing right along with it.

If someone pulled that trademark thing on me though, I’d be contacting my lawyer.

I was just trolling. I honestly don’t give a rip about the whole thing anyway. :D

"I feel like people could take a joke better in the past, and so life was more fun." Not in my neck of the woods - people would get into fistfights at the drop of a hat over really stupid sh*t. I just think that what we get upset over different things now, and the fights are virtual, not real. I do agree that life used to be more fun - I was younger and had thick curly hair.

  • Back to iOS. Carry on making music with whatever you choose to buy. Your choice. 🤘

I didn't need another reason to never buy Behringer, but Uli can't stop the giving.

Bullying individuals who point out your wrong-doing is bad. Using imagery that leverages clearly anti-semitic tropes is bad, ignorant, and stupid. I'm not Jewish, I'm not from Europe, and it was still easy to see. "Intent" doesn't make you innocent when it comes to stereotyping of any kind, though it may or may not indicate what the consequence should be (along with words and behaviors once pointed out to you).

This was another major F-up by Behringer. Past behavior doesn't indicate anything will be learned or changed @ Behringer.

    What is your point?

The issue isn’t whether people validated a particular viewpoint — it was the repeated misrepresentation of viewpoints that fed much of the discussion.

Find me one person more offended than Uli Behringer tho. Kirn, the target of Uli’s little tirade, reacted calmly while the rest of us more-or-less calmly discussed whether to keep supporting the company in light of this and other questionable behaviour. Uli’s also big on virtue-signaling fwiw: https://www.attackmagazine.com/news/uli-behringer-addresses-the-haters/

We’re all using the same platforms and the same freedoms to express our opinions; telling someone to “get over it” is no less of a virtue-signal than telling someone to “be angry.” Edit: saw your other post where you referenced GearSlutz and Reddit. I don’t follow GS and I check Reddit less than once a month because yes, I find those platforms unpleasant.

Re: anti-Semitism, the video featured some potentially-risky imagery, people asked questions, it turned out to be nothing, people let it go. Doesn’t mean they were wrong to ask.

Now it’s time for some hard truths (erm, opinions) of my own: When a company is punching so low to begin with, they don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. Also, you seem angry about other people’s personal ethical choices.

TBH. It’s been a slow couple of days at work and Im super bored.

This was mildly entertaining for awhile but the sheer amount of words being posted about this is just insane.
I’m not angry. I just like to post my opinion to counter all the ridiculous PC crap I’ve been reading. Life’s about balance.

I bet 90% of the people posting about how terrible Uli is and how they’re done with Behringer are just posturing for some sweet Internet/woke points. When it comes down to it they’ll still buy the affordable awesomeness that Behringer supplies.

Meanwhile Uli is laughing all the way to the bank.

    All publicity is good publicity.

Clearly even the outraged are entertained by his antics which is evidenced by the GB’s of data being posted on the internet about this since it happened.

But by all means. Carry on the social justice campaign against Behringer. I’m sure Uli is just crying himself to sleep over it.

In situations like this I always ask myself what is worse:

People taking time out to voice their concerns, or post on a forum about perceived bullying or injustice against others, or those that take time out to criticise, and maybe insult those who do?

I tend to go with the latter.

    Grow up.

  • @TheoVoid : since you didn't actually read what was written, you actually have no idea what was being said. Interesting that you have such strong opinions without bothering to have read what was said and that you feel the need to post so many words insulting people without having read the discussion -- all while complaining about how many words were written .

If you aren't going to bother to read what people write and give it some actual thought, maybe you shouldn't enter into the conversation.

The Anti semitism is just a projection from people who are just searching for a reason to be offended.

People who bang on about Social Justice Warriors / Political Correctness Gone mad etc etc, always seem to be the type of people whose behaviour has created such things.
Still it generally makesit easier to spot the asshurt privileged white males online.

Lol, 'white males'. Throw in 'old' too and make extra friends.
