  • I’m good . I vented . I’m sorry .
I didn’t mean to be the Jerk I apologize to everyone. I know people hate Trump or dislike him ALOT but I’m sick of the nonstop for 4 years complaining about him . I just don’t think he’s as bad as people are saying that’s all and then we all get lumped together on one side or the other we argue . And in the past we haven’t discussed these issues that much on this forum we try to avoid these discussions and focus on music apps mostly. Maybe some people are newer to the forum and didn’t know that we do not talk politics or religion too much .

    Fair.

ridiculous... stop pontificating and just say why you think the completely unredeeming qualities of the President that are Cleary being defined here are good qualities in your household... it's not rocket science.. just be honest.

the President Lies everyday more than he even breathes

his lies are dangerous and have probably cost lives (debatable)

he's a bigot who tried to ban people from the country based on religion, a violation of the constitution and his own ignorance of thinking that the people of the religion he wanted to ban were one color. (not debatable)

he's a not just a bigot but a racist bigot because he's done racist things like birtherism based on race and religion to Barack Obama and ted cruz.
    etc.. etc... etc...

if any president treated a meatwalrus like that I wouldn't vote for them either

  • Keep it coming @MeatWalrus we need the other perspective. I've been on the forum since the beginning, under different names.
@McD made this topic as an exclusive exception. Mods are okay, afaik.

it would be painless if we could just be honest, he's absolutely right the subject always gets swept under the rug, never discussed with any truth, no wonder it gets frustrating constant detraction is just that... nobody is going to be able to come together and sing kumbaya without having an honest discussion.

See... you helped explain your pain.

I can relate... I lived through 8 years of President Obama and 30 years of Clinton hate with some side dishes of Al Gore's climate change stuff.... Michael Moore?

Actually having a conversation across this chasm is easy when you just listen and use a good poker face.
I was chatting with a man my age before the election and I could see he considered Trump is be the safe bet based upon where he saw the biggest problems. No anger... just a clear statement of his inner concerns. We are all essentially rational beings. But we end up in different places but are often closer than we think.

We had to ask for permission to have this thread and it's consider to be cathartic and not strictly political and if you focus on sharing your pain it helps. If this thread is your primary pain point right now that would be sad.

Personally I think this thread is about Sociology and not politics. But social behavior is the root cause of political action.

I come here to see if I'm having the same feeling as anyone else and it helps.

honestly I wish it didn't have to be this way but the old days were better, the David dukes and Farrakhans of the world would just tell you the truth about the lies they believed in, now nobody wants to hear from them because nobody wants to hear the truth of what someone really is come out of their mouths, they'd rather listen to someone tell wall to wall lies like the president and double down on alternative facts and feigned outrage...
what happened to the straight talkers.... what a shame

Bernie? Just saying. It gets you a following but doesn't get you elected. You need another angle to
get elected and that agenda makes you say things that are not consist for a fact-based reality.

Bernie certainly has an agenda that distorts his view of the world but you do believe he's sharing his truth. Authenticity helps but you can't be too fringe.

man, :( reality is now completely fringe territory

  • Little white flowers will never awaken you

Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you

Angels have no thought of ever returning you

Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?

Gloomy is Sunday, with shadows I spend it all

My heart and I have decided to end it all

Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad I know

Let them not weep let them know that I'm glad to go

Death is no dream for in death I'm caressing you

With the last breath of my soul I'll be blessing you.

Darling, I hope that my dream never haunted you.

You know my love of dreams

Explain what this means to you. I'm sure I'll get something new from it. Go crazy with examples, etc if the mood strikes you. No judgement from me.

my conversations typically go like this...

I hate Hillary Clinton cause she's a Liar.... insecure emails!!!

me... ok so why do you think Trump whom lies 300x more, and uses insecure emails and phone calls but not only that his son and law jared and invanka do so as well, aren't you head exploding upset about that based on what you just said you're upset about...

them.... no, I don't care.... maga... Obama's not a christian he's a terrorist... Michelle Obama is a man.... damn mexicans... I have the right to put up statues of my heroes that terrorized black people then and now, it's my heritage..... it's all a hoax!!!

    Me..FFS

and then you've got the detractors who give it their all to try to defend him but never directly address those issues.... as if they can make it all un true just by not facing it....

Took me some time. Yes, momentum is conserved but in complex systems
feedback loops create havoc. Sometimes we oscillate beyond the ability of the
transducers to convert electrons into physical representations creating unintended
side effects like distortions and power outages.

How will our current systems survive these current inputs that are beyond normal limits?

Will monetary systems survive when food stops arriving? If global logistics can't distribute essential
materials to feed the current networks? Are you worried yet? or just angry.

  • anger is wasted on such, I just pity them. We now live in a country where half the people are literally offended by the very notion of equality.

  • Seems that some of you may be blinded by hatred by those who may be blinded by hatred. Vicious cycle?

an equivalency therein does not exist.

or else we'd be telling that to everyone who teaches their children not to lie, discriminate, or try to harm others.

some people riot for college football/basketball games
some people riot for police brutality.
sure a riot is a riot but it's not the same

  • Sure it does. Depends on perspective. Have you forgotten that we are all 'individuals'? and we are all 'united' and 'all in the same boat' ?

  • I have not forgotten that we are all not 'united' or that some of us fight for the right to 'not be united'...
which is fine by me, I only care that we are all institutionally united and equal.

we live in a situation where we have the nerve to have even justified having a discussion about paying women equally, and then try to make a law about it while a group of men hustle and bustle and get up early in the morning just to vote against it.

we live in a situation where the farthest we can go is to acknowledge that radical islamic terrorism is a thing... but when it comes to calling out anything else for what it is we are 🙊

Fuck me, only in America is somebody actually allowed to sell bleach for people to drink.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/24/revealed-leader-group-peddling-bleach-cure-lobbied-trump-coronavirus

Trump is like an orange toilet. He's totally void inside, so you fill him with sh%t, and he'll flush it out on national TV.

The article is about how somebody in America is already selling bleach as a healthcare product with instructions to add a few drops to drinks to cure you.

The article is about that... and how they sent that "information" to Trump, who then regurgitated it because he has no coherent original thoughts of his own.

Yes, and the original posting was bringing attention to the fact its legal to sell bleach as a health product, telling people to drink it. That in itself is incredible

I am watchful. And optimistic. Philosophically (not politically) I exist somewhere in the ground between Darwin and Trotsky. In broad brush I accept Leon's notions about things needing to get worse to get better. They have done that and I think many folks in the middle will begin to think that supporting services via taxation rather than hoping for charity might be a good way to go moving forward.

Do I expect a revolution? No. But I do side with the angels. I also, always, agree with Zhou Enlai (or it might have been Chen Yi or Ji Pengfei or Qiao Guanhua) who when asked to comment on the the French Revolution demurred on the basis that it is too soon to tell....

I didn't work on a military base, but in my office the women helped but they had better sense than to do it in their heels lol.
