Esoteric synth really misbehaves badly in Cubasis 2 for me 😢 haven't got round to trying it out in C3 yet.

    Fancy those delays though....

£3 for the bundle bromide 🤟

Really? I come up as £4.99 for me... ...which it still really good value 😄

Scroll up and down a few times and it’ll change to £3 😘

Because I had esoteric and delayrium, completing the bundle with realdelayrium was free!

I love these apps. They’re genuinely unusual. Not ‘yet another delay ‘ at all.

What did it say on the bundle? There’s no price when I look, it just says ‘complete’.

I bought Esoteric at full price - maybe I’m getting the bundle free?

Yeah if it says complete then you've got the bundle :)

Just wondering if it is worth having both Delayrium and Real delayrium?
Can't see if Real Delayrium cancels out the other app or if they are significantly different, I don't have either yet.

Does anyone know how download servers fit in the iTunes Store?
There are a couple vendors that deliver there products over days, hours
and others than download in minutes, seconds.
I bought a Session Band product and its been 3 days and the download hasn't started yet.

It carries a 1GB payload so I can understand that they may throttle it back to bend the curve. Especially with SessionBand Soul Jazz Funk 1 being free right now. So that's a big
download networking cost for the dev.

Just curious how Apple works with these dev's. Are the Gosple Musicians 1GB IAPs showing up in minutes or hours. Days will get a lot of refunds.

Some download services use networks of download servers closer to the user.

Netflix pays the telcos and cable co to house thousands of distribution servers closer to the user. So when all these new streaming services come up I wonder if they can match the streaming quality people have come to expect. So far Apple TV+, Disney, CBS-All-Access, Hulu seem to have solid services with occasional lower quality video results at peak times.

Is it still everyone's goto for video editing?

I apparently bought it years ago and forgot. I’ve been using it recently to record some videos, mostly just to sync up audio recorded in Cubasis and video recorded on my DSLR. It’s a nice app!

    Does look the part.

Maybe i should treat myself to it for Easter..

I recommend it. Honestly, it’s pretty fun to mess around with. And it’s one of those apps that really reminds you how powerful and capable these devices really are.

Not iOS: I am not sure if this has always been true and I didn't know, but...

Eventide offers 30 day trials of any plugins. You can request Anthology for 30 days. Or just demo the desktop versions of their iOS plugins. Certainly a fun way to spend a month.

    https://www.eventideaudio.com/plugin_demo?product=Anthology XI

Whoops: I meant 90 days! 90 days with everything Eventide has to offer! Wow.

    $5 to unlock.

really? the iOS version does? hmmm, guess 5 minutes is better than no trial version but .. that's not much time to evaluate something in a session.

Can't see if Real Delayrium cancels out the other app or if they are significantly different, I don't have either yet.

‘Real’ Delayrium seems a bit more experimental than the unreal one, which seems better suited to standard delay stuff. The Real one chucks in a bit more resonance, though could just be the presets I’ve tried.

Not bad, I find the UI baffling though.

  • Naaa, there would never be sales if that was the case :-)

I always think I got to use the app before the sales guys.

Agreed, after limited experimentation, if I could only keep one of the two, it'd be the regular delayrium. 'Real' one I have yet to grasp, but the other is mindblowingly good, I think

  • @MonzoPro @Gavinski
Thanks for the reports, yeah might pick one of those today..even though I have enough delays to fill a football pitch.
I think maybe I have too many regular ones, so experimental could be the one, or I’ll probably just get both. :)

  • The 'regular' delayrium is plenty experimental lol, don't worry about that

With sales you can reach the people who don’t value the product at full price. I think it’s perfectly legitimate, just make sure there’s a decent interval between introduction of the app and the sale.

Really looking forward to the update, one of the most bestest apps in recent years.

I got the bundle and—shame on me for not doing due diligence—the Esoteric synth has big, long-standing issues in AUM (the sound craps out when reloading user presets).

I had EsotericSynth already - must have paid full price as the bundle was free, so I got both delays for nowt.

Haven’t used the synth much since I bought it - made a few noises but it was a bit samey. I’ll give it a blast later through the delays, but Mononoke tends to do that sort of thing better.

  • Esoteric synth and the delays are for the psych ward, they make you loony! I think he invented a new way of being a human.

  • The delays are very cool, though it can take a bit of work to get a decent volume on the 'Real delayrium' one. Given the fact that the AUM issues have been around a long time and never been fixed, the synth is flawed, but it does have some great sounds for experimental stuff, and the granular mode is totally unlike mononoke. Wish the dev would fix the AUM issues cos that is a real pain in the arse.

  • Not iOS per se, but Dr Bonkers has a free impulse response pack of guitar and bass cabinets. It’s very well done IMO: https://www.drbonkerssoundlab.com/

For me, despite some bugs, I find Esoteric synth well worth the small cost for sheer entertainment if one enjoys the sort of textures it creates. I think the sound quality is very good.
