  • So, I just noticed there are IAPs with funk:

Yet there are no IAPs with his other products that aren't "on sale."

So did the previous "on sale" products also suddenly have IAPs???

    Just curious...

  • I think this FD update is the first Lumbeat app to have any IAPs.

  • When the "sale price" plus the IAPs are equal to the original full price, it this really a "sale" at all?!?!?!

Lumbeats is updating his already released apps to mimic/be on par with the newly released Jazz Drummer which has several different drumming personalities, similar to those found in garageband.

Those extra drummers are IAP. Funk Drummer JUST got updated. As in 9:30 pm West Coast time.

When the sale price goes back to full, the IAPs will still be there so yes 50% off the app still saves $. Lumbeat apps are usually on sale for 24 hours so don’t snooze.

  • Hmmmmm! It's 10pm here, so I'd better not snooze just yet!

Thank you both for the info!

  • woah man switch that thing to dark mode it hurts my eyes lol

Bought both IAPs immediately. My two big issues with this app were the drum kits (don't really like 'em) & the style of funk was very 1-dimensional. I much prefer having alternate styles to choose from and now that problem is solved.

He's added a few kits along the way too, but unfortunately I don't really like them... Personal taste is all.

  • Ok. So IAPs in funk drummer are on sale or not?

Edit : already mentioned in an another thread, sorry 🤗

Funk Drummer is on sale 50% !

It has 2 new Drummers in IAP from... just touch the Funk Drummer face in the app.
Each is $5 (intro-discount?). Clyde Stubblefield (James Brown) and a modern drummer
Nete Smith. I got both... Cylde is historically accurate and Note is as complex as you'd expect a modern player to be.

I like toggle hi-hat vs ride and toggle snare vs hoop stick buttons.

I'm waiting for ibassist to re-install and see if it has any updates to match this cookin' Nete Smith
    groove I have playing.

  • BLEASS Groovebox IAP is on sale, according to Appsliced.

  • Beat hawk IAP seems to be about 40% off too

  • Samplr on sale, Is it as good as the stars suggest?

    Yes, it is!

  • The reason I bought an iPad, and the first app I bought in my entire life. If you like samples, it's definitely worth it.

It’s not a matter of whether or not it’s “good”. I suggest watching some videos and see what it does. Some seem to consider it “essential”. Others not so much. It really depends on whether it does something that applies to your way of making music. I don’t consider it “essential” but it’s as much a part of my bag of tricks as some other apps.

Indeed. It is all about genre and workflow. I think it is a lovely UI and shows the possibilities of touchscreen performance but I have never used it in a track.

Excellent answer. When people ask "should I get X or Y?" this is exactly what they need to hear, rather than "it's good" or "it's an instabuy" etc. If it helps the user do soemthing they want to do, great, but if not, don't spend money on it, no matter how "good" it is (muscially, technically, interactively etc)

I agree. I got Samplr because of the hype, and while it is really really cool, I haven't used it in my workflow. I can achieve granular and distortions with a lot of my plugins. Reslice and Effectrix seems suited to my use case.(Although, I still sometimes wonder if I should have got Egoist instead).

Not saying it is a bad app...far from it. It's an excellent app. But it's not in my top 20 list.

Nor me. I’ve had it since day 1, and dip in and out of it occasionally every few months. I enjoy mucking around with it, but it’s never found it’s way into a track, whereas Spacecraft, which probably has less features, ends up on nearly every one.

I think all of them are on sale now.
Except the newest Funky one. The IAP still says $10.

Thats why I wont buy Funk Drummer

I wouldn't let that stop you - you can now export MIDI performances, so it kinda makes it a moot point now...
