Nice one Charles, appreciate the vid! I'm really trying to limit new purchases, but definitely one to consider. Is it as full an implementation of mpe as you had hoped @Monome?

He, he no. :open_mouth: you can't control anything. MPE here stands for pitch bend and that's it. It sounds good, simple and different. Maybe another one to add to the obscure plugins in you collection.

Maybe the dev wants to work further on it, I don't know. I even think he's around the forum too - or has been.

  • Another mpe disappointment u have saved me from then, thanks brother

I just wanted to say the same - iBassist is a heart of all Lumbeat apps. It allows to create songs and send midi out chords to synths - great feature

    :disappointed:

  • I already have ibassist- he’s me! (And I haven’t been called Obi-Wan in a long time either).

Yes, but it seems only to be able to open and play one track at a time, unless I'm doing something wrong?

  • Was tempted by iBassist, even though funds are tight, and I’ve imposed a ban on app buying until I get a decent new iPad, but being IAA only puts me off. Plus I should be doing that sort of thing myself, being an actual bass player...

  • I tend to use that eventide pitch shifter on my guitar for this sort of thing as well, liking the Mideast drummer one, might eventually get soft drummer as that sounds nice, but only if it goes on sale as well..

What’s the point of it? Can you use it ‘in’ Audiobus or does it just ‘talk’ to Audiobus?

On behalf of all bassists, I congratulate your restraint. We're better than this, Monzo. :)

    All of this.

  • There are good IAA citizens and bad IAA citizens

Lumbeats are in the good category they mount in the host on the first try and work well with others. If you like the idea of a band in a box (but not just canned stuff) get iBassist

Yeah, though to be fair I was tempted, but finances also played a role in that decision!

I’ve been playing/recording guitar and bass a lot more since I gravitated back to desktop work, and in particular after getting Ableton a couple of years back. It’s just so easy to plug in and knock out a couple of basslines into a clip, or whack a solo onto an arrangement view track. Not quite as easy on the iPad, as this one’s showing it’s age as much as I am these days :)

I picked up Mid East drummer in the sale, and that’s excellent - that’s perfect for desktop fodder, and has a more natural feel than what’s available on that platform, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for a Jazz drummer sale.

  • For desktop, a free reverb\delay plugin by Valhalla ... https://valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-supermassive/

  • Takete is down to $12.99.
Damn, may have to finally get it at that price.
Used to be $60 I think.

A"must watch" video for justify it? I'm still figuring it out why I will need it...

Maybe you don’t need it, but have a look at all it can do.
It is a lot of app for $13.
I mainly am interested in the audio-driven video FX. I didn’t even realize it is a full-on groovebox and clip launcher.

  • takete 2 feels like it could be perfectly up my alley as a live performer, however I’ve not found enough ‘finished product’ samples to get a sense of its capabilities. The developers YouTube videos almost exclusively feature the UI with obscured visuals.

Personally, it’s crucial to see a range of finished products before committing to a new video creation platform, regardless of price. They might do well to link up with some visual artists that tag the app on their YouTube/Vimeo videos.

I also haven't seen anything that shows of it's visual capability.

Audio wise I personally have most of what
Takete offers via various other apps.

On another note, Visual Synth by @SecretBaseDesign
could provide visuals using midi alongside
your DAW or sequencer of choice a configuration I'm going
to be trying by the end of summer if not before.

I’m tired of too much features but zero true utility iOS apps. What makes takete so special?

    I have no idea.
I never even considered it before today, since it is usually too expensive for me.

So, you seem bitter about some of your past purchases.
Which apps were so underwhelming for you?
