1 member of this forum once said that we have a Ableton Live Lite license with iKaossilator. Can’t find it :(

C'mon...how am I supposed to isolate from the forum if you keep baiting me (lol). But for you, Monsieur Montréal musique, je vais t'aider (I will help you)

    Open iKaossilator
    Tap on the file icon.
Go to "Create as Ableton Project"
Go to "Get Free Ableton Live Lite"
    Register

    There you go...

Also, please feel free to follow me on YouTube at youtube.com/seonnthaproducer
I'm closing up some loose ends (AUM and Reason Compact, free apps list, last post, etc) before I minimize my forum time. Already have a ton of videos and articles to write and edit, so I'm going to be busy.

Thanks for this awesome thread @Poppadocrock . Found a ton of awesome gems because of this.

Vous aussi, Montréal_musique. Your hidden gems page showed me a ton of apps I didn't even know of.

Also, let me know when you're in Toronto so we can collaborate sometime.

DJ Player EM isn't on sale, it is a permanent price reduction since he sold Superpowered, same goes for DJ Player Pro, 5 year subscription is now $20

Is going to be abandonware or...?

No, he sold Superpowered to splice, not DJPP, that is still his personal side project as it has always been, and even as his personal side project is still the most updated DJ software in comparison to the desktop apps it competes with (The only DJ app on iOS that does compete with the desktop apps) OK maybe not VirtualDJ since they hired Adion, but yeah, still updated more than Traktor and Serato.

Nice. With new prices it returns to something to take in consideration again (in fact maybe the only app across all platforms).

As a 100% on-device, AUv3 only, Nanostudio user, is there anything in Midi Designer Pro 2 for me?

It's not AU. However, it works well in split screen and popover mode for host apps that support it. This can be useful for designing single control surfaces to control several synths without "leaving" the host. Or, if you wanted a separate screen that would let you control several parameters in NS2 from one screen without actually being "in" the app.

NanoStudio 2 only supports popover view. So, the only benefit I could see for you there is to have a popover window available with customizable controls. Probably not very useful for you.

Thanks, didn’t know this existed. The FFT analysis is dope. Very useful if you program additive.

So I use a few DAWs just really getting into the whole music production scene on ios. Was thinking about getting a Launch Control XL, but I also have a spare 32gb 6th Gen ipad. Would this be a good substitute?

That's hard to say. Its much more flexible, but also more work to learn and set up since you're designing your own surfaces. There's no substitute IMO for the haptics of actual hardware pads. On the other hand, that iPad will run for hours and hours on battery, and with Bluetooth MIDI, no cables whatever needed.

As long as you don't mind some work to learn to construct control surfaces, it's relatively inexpensive to find out. If you don't find it useful now, you may someday.

It is kinda ugly tho... :#
    (IMO)

Ok. I was going to actually pick this, TB Midi Stuff or TouchOSC up and test it out but I’ve read this is actually the best from searches through the forums and thinking 50% off is a steal. I’ll probably still get the Launch at some point but the other iPad is just kind of sitting around as I don’t really know how to incorporate it since I’m just starting out and my projects generally don’t have more than 8 tracks. What would you say in terms of those options for controlling iOS daws and synths?

    And thanks for the feedback!

  • I'm a fan of TB Midi Stuff from way, way back. But, it is long, long abandoned as far as I can tell, so I can't recommend it. I've never been a fan of TouchOSC since it requires a computer to make and edit maps. It does seem to be being maintained about once yearly though.

I don't think either of those supports Bluetooth MIDI either. MD Pro 2 is all I can recommend at this point. Its a rock-solid and actively supported app. If nothing else, it can be a good learning experience.

  • Awesome! Thanks!

  • Any experience with this one? Looks like something I could actually play, If the tracking is good then the price is also very good :)

There is no tracking because it uses the original signal from the guitar and processes it with synth-like modules, including re-shaping the input waveform to more synth-like waveforms.
Or in other words: Yes, the "tracking" is excellent 😊

  • Thanks @wim, super helpful as always.

Presumably piping audio to it via an interface. Don't see IAA or AUv3 support unfortunately.

  • Damn it, @Poppadocrock!

Here you bring us a free app to learn virtually and instrument, and I'm sitting sadly in front of my download screen realizing it won't teach me how to play that didgeridoo that's been sitting up in my attic for decades. 😔

  • Just giving you a lil 💩!

Thank you so much for all the incredible work you've done during the crisis to alert us to all the fabulous deals our wonderful developers have given us.

You've rarely been beat on a deal, and that's quite admirable!

Thank you for your great contributions to the forum.

Take it out of the attic, don’t just blow down the tube and expect notes, they are made with your throat. Find some quality lessons on youtube. Give it a good clean if it is not wrapped upped up well or you will end up with asthma. Use a dyson, thinking of it attach that might make some great experimental drones if yer in to that kinda thing. Lol

  • Touché! 🤣

I hope they haven't decided not to have the usual summer sale this year. So, getting Komplete Select now and upgrading to Komplete 12 during a future sale is probably the cheapest way to get full Komplete
