Audioshare is like putting the salt and pepper on the table. Happens without thought.

He should pay you for that one. Or add the metronome.

For SMB access i think a 'companion' app is needed for now, some apps allow direct playback from remote servers so it's easy to check the files before transfer.
For AudioShare I'm more than happy with the Wifi-Drive feature, audition on computer before transfer
How can i access my files on ios 8 now?No iFunboxing anymore?Folders are gone,everything is empty (in the Audioshare docs).I'll rollback to an older version if i can't access my library from iFunbox anymore

Enable 'WiFi Drive' and use any networked computer or keep all your files in the 'iTunes Shared' folder that is still visible to iFunBox.
When you updated to 2.7 you got an option to copy the files to a repo so that the FileProvider extension can share the files to apps that support document-picker extension.
I'm using WiFi Drive feature to transfer zip-archives to AudioShare and also copy files back to my computer and it works really well.
So iFunBox gets less and less use for every day that goes by...
(The Repo is also backed up when syncing with iTunes or iCloud so no worries about loosing files).

Which is the more lossless format ? I need AudioBus to record audio from app with AudioShare? (no AudioCopy option?)
@Crabman said:
Put all of your files in the "iTunes File Sharing" folder in AudioShare. You'll then be able to access them from iFunbox.

You don't need Audiobus to record an app into AudioShare, if the app you want to record can function as an IAA node (which it most probably does since now all audiobus apps does that). Just choose the app instead of the microphone in the recorder dialog.
WAV and AIFF are the most lossless formats.
You can import folders as usual with iFunBox, they will end up in the "iTunes File Sharing" folder in AudioShare.
The Documents folder in iFunBox is called "iTunes File Sharing" inside AudioShare.
I love the new import/export through web browser for most file management now.
simple and fast.
I have a question if I may,
is there an easy way to trim silence from the start of a recording?
If not, something like a 'detect silence' would be really handy!
I would also like to suggest a user setting for normalisation target db level. I would prefer to leave some extra headroom
I'll go now before I seem too demanding.
cheers.
@bonso: Noted in my ever growing list of things to consider
I'm hoping that the next version of AudioShare will have a option to 'wait for input' when using IAA-Instruments & Generators and also some kind of pre-record buffer and maybe even a threshold setting with pre-record buffer so that the transients are not missed.
And well, there has been numerous request posted to this thread by me and others...
Another small request would be to have an option where the record dialogues monitor switch would turn off when leaving the record dialog and turn back on again when opened again...
It's really quite 'noisy' to edit/trim the recording if the play thru can still be heard
+1 for bonso's suggestions... Both those things would be extremely useful.
I'm currently scared to use the normalisation because it takes everything right to the absolute limit. .
Hello, is it possible to use audioshare to record garageband tracks? I cannot find GB in the recorder mode. And is it possible also to record several tracks at the same time ? I would like to do a kind of multitracks export from AudioBus into AudioShare then into my desktop daw
@ellof5446 No and no.
Garageband only allows Audiobus and IAA in.
I think audio share is compatible with ogg files, but do you guys know if it reads flac files?
@kobamoto: Sorry but no, AudioShare reads only the formats supported by iOS itself, which excludes ogg vorbis and flac. But it's something I'd like to add sometime.
thanks Jonatan
@j_liljedahl: i have a feature request:
could you eventually provide a custom URL scheme like "audioshare://"
The Reason:i use this neat new helper : „Launcher with Notification Center Widget“ von Cromulent Labs https://appsto.re/de/iLR81.i
but many of my favorites are not supported.it's possible though to help yourself if the apps provide a custom URL scheme (Cubasis and Audiobus are doing this i.e.).would be a great if i could launch Audioshare directly from the notification center.
Ya know. It's not supposed to do that. There must be a bug in the normalize function then. It's only supposed to take the highest peak and raise all audio equally until the peak hits either 0dB or a predetermined value that is less than 0dB.
I'm having a similar problem in Multitrack DAW with its compressor renderings being maxed.
Control over the Normalization level might be nice, but far from essential for my workflow. Works just fine as is for me. I see it as a convenience to boost a raw mix, no more, no less. FWIW
As far as I can see, it already has exactly that URL scheme. Does it not work?
oh,right.It works now.Weird but maybe i had a typo when i tried it before Thanks for the hint
@ Martygras "Ya know. It's not supposed to do that. There must be a bug in the normalize function then. It's only supposed to take the highest peak and raise all audio equally until the peak hits either 0dB or a predetermined value that is less than 0dB."
Actually it does work like that (to 0dB). I just meant it would be nice to control the amount in increases the gain by (or specify the max of the max peak).
This is something I REALLY wanted last night with some vocal samples....ended up in Twisted Wave instead which has lots of nice tricks but would rather stay right there in AS. For all of that, and personally, I would trade this in a heartbeat for a dull simple dusty old metronome...
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but is there any chance we can set the "sort by" category to a default?
As in, I always want my folders set by date descending. It'd be cool if I could set that to a default instead of tapping it every time.
Does that make sense? I hope it's not too much to ask, and thank you for all of your amazing work @j_liljedahl !
99% by date.
Me too.
Yep, it's the same here. I always tap "sort by date" and think to myself "I should really make this setting persistent"
Will do in the next update.
