@j_liljedahl I know you said you're not changing the edit function but can we please be able to cut audio from the middle I nstead of just being able to trim the outside?

  • The ability to select a part of the wave (with snap to zero crossing) and silence it without changing length would be useful, as well as the ability to insert silence

  • Anybody else here occassionally have dreams involving Audioshare?

  • I would of liked to see editing functions add to AudioShare, it houses most of us samples , so why not. That's one of the drawbacks of the App, the AudioCopy app has editing function of the wave , I hope they would add the ability to house all your samples like AudioShare

No, but I did have a dream that I was on a train going over an aqueduct with Linus Torvalds and some friends of his, and I persuaded them to explain Git to me via the conduit of explaining to me how a two-stroke engine works.

Yes, that's on my own wish list as well.

However, as I think I said somewhere else, I do have plans on making a separate wave editor app that is more suitable for editing. It will have direct access to all the files of AudioShare, so no duplication or import/export would be needed.

    Would love this!

I would really prefer (if possible) advanced edit as an IAP inside audioshare. Or if possible an icon switching between the 2 apps would be great. (I hate home button!)

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but is there any chance we can set the "sort by" category to a default?
As in, I always want my folders set by date descending. It'd be cool if I could set that to a default instead of tapping it every time.

Does that make sense? I hope it's not too much to ask, and thank you for all of your amazing work @j_liljedahl !

Yep, it's the same here. I always tap "sort by date" and think to myself "I should really make this setting persistent" :)

Will do in the next update.

Oh wow. I'm only JUST noticing that all this time I could've been sorting by date, size, or name. Doh!

I don't like IAPs :) My idea is that such an editing app could be perfectly used stand-alone as well, and also as a companion app to AUM. Sure, a fast-switching button would be there.

I kept this question for a few days since I don't know if it is appropriate but the time has come to spit it out:
Are you planning a simple, single wave editor or some thing a bit more complex with the chance to layer things? right now is a Little painful exercise layering stuff such as drum hits on ios specially when it comes to time functions. I.e. iSpark could do some of that but if you want to build a hit with 3 different samples for attack, body and tail is a no-no. There is no way to delay the samples start nor individual Settings but for gain and sample start and end points.

  • Quick question: did this happen?

    Instant buy.

I haven't decided exactly yet. The basic idea is a single track non-destructive wave editor, but I will think some more about layering.

PS. Don't hold your breath, it will probably take a year before I can start on this project!

  • Exhaling.

Maybe it is time to learn how to code then :)

    A year !
I actually would like it to be finished in a week (or two at most), I will pay £10 for it and I want the following 44 features included in it, which I would find to be most useful to me...(/irony) :)

i acquired all these books, to learn programming, to make all the apps i need but which don't exist, but i cannot begin. i just cannot begin.

Oh god, like 50gigs of purloined resources. But then off Amazon I got some used books to learn Processing, which doesnt really help me with iOS, but I don't have a Mac which means I'm persona non grata for iOS development anyway.

    Don’t know if this helps : https://developer.ibm.com/swift/2015/12/03/introducing-the-ibm-swift-sandbox/
(I’m too engrossed in my CSS and SVG to even touch that, which probably won’t work and will just give me errors for years, like any other language does).

I'm not advanced enough for Linux I don't think. It's too late for me now, I have to enslave my son and force him to develop the next evolution of Samplr.

But it all takes place in the web browser!

  • I struggle with my native language too often to dare to branch out beyond that.

Yeah but without a Mac and a developer's account, I can't do anything with it. If only some wealthy forum member would take pity on me and buy me the technological devices I need to achieve self-realization...

This would be really cool!!! Please include sample looping features for samplers! :-)
