I was looking at this Hercules earlier... how is the build quality?

Quite good! The knobs, faders and wheels feel solid, the pads are simple plastic clicky pads but all seem durable enough.

Those pads will be ok for simple switching
    Thanks :)

    👍🏼

@iansainsbury, @iammane I'm currently using these controllers, all fully supported in Drambo except aftertouch:

Can you input notes in Drambo using the BSP sequencer @rs2000 ? If you care too, tell us your fav features as they relate to Drambo. If you’ve done this my apologies I haven’t found it using search.

Oh, too much to list here. I prefer to answer specific questions.
Some of my favorites: Flexi scratching, relative/incremental encoders and polyphonic aftertouch from BeatStep, mapped to CC by means of Streambyter or MidiFire.

wait.. au host... so can you load drambos inside drambo 🤯

Yes sure, Drambo host can load AU Drambos, but Drambo host can't load another Drambo host. :)

    🤣🤣🤩🤩🤩

hahaha that literally sums up drambo in one image

Thanks. BSP def looks like the best form factor midi controller for Drambo and I’m beginning to think $150 for a used black edition is too good to pass up.

Never thought about the Pro version but indeed, $150 sounds more than fair.

  • Anybody tried Launchkey mini mk3 ?

I use this, mainly to play whit key and start/stop recording. I had mapped the pads in custom mode for mute/solo but I deleted it because the state of the lights (always on without changing color) doesn’t match to the screen and confuse me.

  • Did anyone achieve a way of automating the REC trigger per Plocking for resampling into the Flexi Sampler, just like with the Octatrack?

REC in flexi cannot be p-locked atm.
You can p-lock REC on Recorder module.

thanks, i will try this now

/edit: It works, but only with a harsh click whenever playback is triggered.
Is there a way to smoothen the attack of the playback trig? And is it also possible to record long samples?

    To work around for now:

    • Download and run FreEWI (will stay in the background and act as a MIDI message loopback)
    • In Drambo, map any note number of your choice to Flexi's REC button (and more if you desire)
    • You can now record by sending a MIDI note using the MIDI Output module, sending to FreEWI.
    • Recording time will match the length of the note, change your pattern length to increase.
    • The attack of the playback trig can be smoothened by placing an Amp ADSR after flexi with, say, 1ms attack time.
    • Flexi has many sync modes including one that lets you arm recording and rec stop and it will become effective atvthe next pattern boundary, if you prefer manual REC triggering but still stay in sync with the pattern.

Here's a quick and dirty demo of the Numark DJ2GO2 Touch controlling Drambo:

  • Can someone explain to me how mpe in Drambo works? After some confusion I found out that the mpe mode moved from track setting to the instrument setting, but I don’t really get what it is doing. I tried with mononokes pads and different presets on Drambo. X axis is pitch shift, alright, but y axis doesn’t do anything in most patches. What other inputs are there anyway? I‘m probably lacking some understanding of mpe in general. 😑

  • Hi, can anyone answer me this simple question please

You can add manyntracks in drambo, but if you have more then 16 , the tracks dont show on the pads.
Is there a way to “shift” to second page of tracks , on the pads ?

  • edited November 2020

I don't think tracks beyond 16 are officially supported. Any sequencer info on tracks 17+ will instantly crash Drambo, but I believe they can still be used as audio sends. I believe the only way to access them is from the full screen sequencer edit page.

When Drambo can host Drambo, that will save a few track # issues for me at least.

  • Thanks. Yes the audio unit support will be amazing

  • I tried to do this, but I don't know how to connect the gyroscope in Drambo. Do the gyroscope have a default fonction or do I have to connect it to a module? How can I do something like this?

I had a look at the gyroscope module.

Anything that has a modulator input can be connected to the gyroscope it seems.

Click on whatever you need to be modulated and connect that to the gyroscope module.

The pitch goes to pitch and the yaw and roll can go to whatever needs to be modulated.

Will have a look at it tomorrow, thanks. I ordered an Artiphon Orba, which should arrive on Monday 😎 Really looking forward to giving that a spin.

  • Heard of transport control.

Is there a way of launching audio from a nanocontrol ( on off or start stop ) Flexy sampler ( with link enabled )

Think you can just use aum but think it might be better in flexi sampler.

  • think I fixed it. Record button mapped. Transport enables sampler.

  • Has output 8 always come out of output 1 on multiout or is that a bug from the last update? Also when I try to record p lock for the offset on flexi sampler with scratch engaged, it’s really garbled and poppy but sounds like a normal record scratch when record isn’t on

  • Hi. Is it possible to make a module that shows aum outputs?

Drambo covers the aum clipping outputs.

    Thanks.

  • cv quantizer question:
i’m using the midi output module to sequence auv3 synths in aum, i have entered random notes into the step sequencer and now i want to use the cv quantizer to fix my notes since i’m garbage at scales 😂 do i insert the cvQ between midi to cv and midi output, or after the midi out? i’m trying to figure it out but i’m not really hearing any note correction with my testing, perhaps i am missing a module in the chain that is needed as well.

    thank ya

[edit] I think before the midi to cv that’s where midi modifying components go. Note to self, don’t try to answer from a gas station

  • @xor said:

    that’s what i was thinking.

i’ve been using rozeta scaler in the meantime as the signal path for that is pretty much a no brainier

    cv quantizer question

midi 2 cv - cv quantiser - midi note generator - midi out

  • @Fingolfinzzz That multi-out bug has existed for at least a couple months

Output 8 will start to appear on output 8 as soon as you connect to it in your AUv3 host.

Also when I try to record p lock for the offset on flexi sampler with scratch engaged, it’s really garbled and poppy but sounds like a normal record scratch when record isn’t on

What's the problem with that? And, if I may ask, what are you trying to achieve by p-locking a discrete scratch position to a sequencer step?
