I’ve realized I think that while I love Sugar Bytes synths, I’m much less keen on their effects. They all seem to lean in a very EDM direction and are about as subtle as a brick.

😃 The less subtle the better for me. Is it not maybe a bit like Dr Oxter on the Propellerhead?
I’m about to find out myself.

  • I already deleted that comment because when I thought about it I realized it was in fair, all you need to do is turn the wet down lol

wow, is $17 smackaroos an intro price?

Sugar Bytes don't usually do intro prices.

  • Gus or anyone that's running this do you know if Looperator has a scale divide feature that allows you to half time loops?

also if anyone uses effectrix same question?

Effectrix: yes, you can do triplet for 1/16 and 1/8th too (from memory)

Hmmm..much as I love Sugarbytes I’m struggling to see the difference between this and Effectrix..

    Different FX

Ok cheers. Despite being a SugarBytes fanboy I’ll have to pass, bit of an extravagant purchase since I’ve already got Effectrix. Maybe later when they have their next sale.

  • Something weird happening with all Sugarbytes standalone apps for me right now, instant crashing when attached to audio interface until restarting....emailed the team.

My thoughts exactly don’t think its worth that much for what it does and what’s out there already.

  • Hmm..I was really hoping their next release was DrumComputer. This is cool but it’s basically Effectrix 2 and I have zero need for another Effectrix.

  • For me this is far better and is radically different to Effectrix. It’s much more complex and dynamic with far better results easier obtained.

This is the instiest instabuy I have seen for a long while. I am super exited about this one 👍🏻😻

  • I really dig Egoist and see it becoming more and more important to my 'flow'.
    I don't have Effectix ... hmm ... should I?

  • I don't know about this one. Maybe fun to try out, but i think it's gonna be abandonware very soon, because the effects gonna be boring after while, and i don't want to repeat the same over again. I think i skip this "i want to be as cool as Skrillex" (and outdated effects)
I'm into more evolving, immersive and unpredictable effects, than this "instagrativication"
    Thats my opinion.

+1. Personally I'm glad that there is a major fx app release that I'm not itching to buy, what a relief 😂

  • What do get for free before you’ve gotta splash the 17 notes?

  • ;)

This type of fx app fits my workflow. Especially when you add vox and/or samples. Might be a little lighter on the cpu. We shall see

Egoist and Turnado are more satisfying, where you can tweak more.

  • Instabuy! Thanks!! 👍🐬🚀

  • I’m gonna be brave. I’m gonna buy it. Trying the stand alone version and I’m liking so fare more then effectrix, but maybe is the brand new app effect🙏🏻

does egoist have a live mode? if so where i’d like to try that out

  • looks cool but i’m in the fence. is it any different from the loop mash fix in cubasis?

Haha, clever minxes. Bernie Madoff, Sugarbytes' new Marketing Manager

  • Could a kind owner share what parameters are exposed?

  • edited April 2020

I'm with the other guy. Outside of Factory (kinda), SugarBytes' stuff sounds too processed and harshly digital for me. I'll try this out cause I have time, but SB along with VirSyn top my list for 'Don't fall for the new app again' developers. This will allow me to start a success streak as far as SB resistance goes. I understand I'm in the minority here so I'll back away and let others enjoy.

Agree ... I think Effectrix can end up sounding quite static whereas Looperator has a lot more randomisation options. If Effectrix and Looperator had been available at the same time I think I would have gone for Looperator and not bothered with Effectrix.

Unfortunately not ... it’s instrument only.

  • WOW would be the SB app I've used the most, but I buy them all. It's a fair price for amazement.

Live mode or not, i would get bored with the “insta” effects very soon.
