I guess we have to convince Arturia to give iOS another try then :D

Arturia do nothing except to sell old abandoned good synth very high price , I got their iProphet that I can use with tabletop , it is a joke who use anymore tabletop ? The worst is to decide if delete this Arturia iProphet ? It is not very useful but it is a good synth emu.

To my opinion they will never bring effort to do AUv3.

Yeah, I know, iSEM was still pretty good last time I tried though. I have to confess that I would love their Buchla emulation on an iPad even if it doesn't sound like the original.

that is actually good idea , i believe Arturia is really one of few big players who may be opened to return to iOS waters ..

At least would love to see iSEM AUv3, iťs one of most faithful HW emulations on iOS to the date (i actually had SEM module and iSEM is VERY close to real thing)

I hope one of these awesome synths will be ported to the iOS, we currently have a big empty Prophet 5 hole on the mobiles.

I have send an email to SoftTube, with a beg and please to port to the iOS.

    Oh god I hope so!

Well, I got an answer but a bit vague: “I’ll do what I can for now which is save this as a feature request!” And that unfortunately he cannot comment on upcoming releases. So we will have to wait and see what time will bring us.

Today I try to contact U-He with the same question. 🤞

Cherry Audio is saying the same thing. I wouldn't commit to anything by email to a customer either if I was in their position, but I'm guessing a LOT of these developers are having serious discussions internally about porting to iPadOS now.

Yes, I think you are right about that. A lot is going to change quickly. And these synths we are talking about are completely finished, of course they have to be ported and that might not be a little something, but it can generate much more money for them.

Yep. All-new markets for them to consider.

If MiniFreak came to iOS I would …freak out lol.

I sold my Microfreak a while back and really miss it. May just by the Minifreak anyway.

I sold it, then bought it after a while, then sold it again .. so i am in double pain :-D Most likely will buy it again (minifreak too big for my setup, i literally doesn't have place where to put it lol)

Are we the same person? Lol I did the exact same thing 😂 we’re gonna be moving soon so I’m holding off on any HW purchases until then, but I’d love to get the Mini after that. But I’d be dipping into the OP-1 Field fund for it. Choice choices

To be fair, I think the iOS / iPadOS music scene is a victim of its own making… the fact is we’ve had underpriced apps for too long and desktop developers who charge higher for their work are being put off by the low prices here. I think it’s about time we wake up and realise if we want desktop developers to port their apps, we have to pay the high price for them. Just my 2 cents.

    yeah choices are bitch

  • If LP is a big success they will want to come to IOS on their own. They just need to see it happen first.

I'd rather hear "The iPad version of U-He will be out next week," but I actually wish more people would think like this guy. He's doing what he's good at, he enjoys it, and he isn't going to be lured out of that by mere money.

Ironically money (effort/profit ratio) is only one true reason he doesn’t want to do it. You need to read between lines ;)

Well that's your personal interpretation. Urs has always been very fair with his customers as far as I can remember and to me it seems more like a different attitude compared to, say, FabFilter. Both make sense in their own way.

Whatever you mean by high price. You simply can't charge the same high desktop price for a product the customer doesn't own.

The main problem is money. iOS still doesn’t sell enough to make it profitable for the bigger companies. Korg is trying and doing their part. If more of the larger companies like Roland would make their arsenal available, more chance Arturia or UHE, TAL, etc, would produce more. iOS music production is still a small fraction of the digital music industry.

Sadly true. Our little universe is a small niche compared to desktop… and we’re totally at the mercy of Apple.

So, if I keep my old iPad off the grid and never update it, they don't auto delete ever right??

Well, you never "own" any software. You purchase a license to use it. Usually with no guarantee whatsoever that it will continue to operate.

But what's being referenced here is the ability to sell that license. On iOS that's impossible. On desktop it's usually possible, depending on the license agreement and software license key system.

If you freeze an iPad then apps will continue working as long as the iPad does. If you back up the apps using iMazing while they're still in the App Store then you might be able to install on a different iPad if the app is still compatible with the OS on that iPad.

Matthew 6:19-21 them apps buddy. 😎

    No

  • IMazing downloading and archiving apps is separate from backups. There is manage apps functionality that lets you download copies of you apps to a library . It is completely separate from making device backups.

If you don’t explicitly download them, they are not retrievable. Backups themselves do not contain apps.

You have to explicitly download the apps using the Manage Apps feature.

Yeah, of course you’re right here - sorry for my bad memory…

I’ve should have known that because I have been using iMazing for years - I have downloaded tons of .ipa - often I do backups in several versions of same apps - this have been handy when I trying installing these .ipa on my Apple Silicon MacBook Pro…

I remember having made a backup of my old favorite synth Z3TA Synth from Cakewalk and I lost that hard drive bummer! Totally forgot about that process.
