I‘m having a blast with my Launchpad Pro MK3 in AUM, thanks to LK. But there are a few things I noticed:

    • the colors of the clips don’t match at all. The LP shows very dull colors that are totally different to LK
    • It’s hard to see which clips are playing on the LP
    • there is a a problem with the timing when I route the LP through LK. @sinosoidal I sent you a Massage with a video
    • aftertouch does not work when routed through LK. Disclaimer: I am just learning what aftertouch is and how it works. It still sounds like a dirty word to me 🤭
    • Is there a quick way to copy midi from the sequencer into a clip?

One of the problems with the colors is that LP family of controllers have different modes available: programmer mode, and DAW mode.

    • In programmer mode everything needs to be programmed, including the note/chords. In this mode we can use custom rgb colors.

    • In daw mode, things like note/chords work out of the box without the need to be programmed. In this mode we can only choose from a set of colors.

    In summary:

We will eventually be able to provide exact match of colors at the cost of programming everything else that is not pre programmed in this mode.

    :disappointed:

  • @sinosoidal Not sure if it’s been requested before but I was wondering if LK could appear as a Midi FX in Cubasis or NS2, at the moment it just shows as an AU instrument.
There was a similar thing with Drambo a while ago and it now shows up as both an instrument and AU midi FX.

Thanks that’s great, not in the beta but will PM my TestFlight email.

We have just uploaded a build 2020 of the forthcoming version 1.10.0.

In this version, besides adding Ableton Live 11 support and multi channel midi import we want to consolidate things a bit. We have been adding a lot of features without cleaning up the house.

    Changelog:

    • Improve AUv3 loading/resizing performance
    • Add keyboard viewport navigator
    • Fixes an issue while importing .midi files
    • Fixes duplicated projects when saving with patch manager
    • Fixes composer keyboard disappearing issue

We still need to work on a couple other graphical details before wrapping up this release. In the mean time we would love to hear your feedback.

You really are on fire with the incredible speed you‘re throwing out updates.
Serious question: do you ever not work? I noticed, that even on the weekends you’re incredibly active here. Don‘t want you burning out man. 😬

Yeah! Do some relaxing, annoying the fruits of your hard labor, chilling in videos like this showing a bit of jamming your great apps!

  • First impression is that the GUI feels smoother. Maybe it’s placebo caused by the new pretty icons, but nevertheless I like it

All the icons have been reviewed, but that is still a work in progress. I'm glady you felt it smoother. The 5 seconds it was taking to do a resize was driving me crazy.

@sinosoidal Just came over an issue with LK matrix:

Clip poperties setting for humanize is global an affects all clips. Should affect each clip individually for humanize setting to make sense.

[In FRMS I had this issue with the ARP setting, but there it is likely a feature, not a bug. But it would be useful to have that individually for each layer.]

Would love to see a video of how you are using the combination. I am excited to high heaven but I have no idea what to do :-)

  • I just picked up the Launchpad X since it now interfaces well with LogicPro X 10.5/6, (as I'm not an Ableton user).

I've been hoping to also use it with my iPad Pro, and it interfaces seamlessly with the Ampify Launchpad app for playback fun. But for more creativity and production, I'm thinking that Garageband may be the best fit with its Live Loops capability. What might LK offer me that would make me go that route and host it within a iOS DAW (I have GB, Auria Pro, Cubasis 3, Nanostudio 2 as well as AUM etc.

Any other suggestions re the Launchpad usage with iPad would be welcome!

  • @sinosoidal the new long press context menus make such a difference for me. Once you know an interface does long presses it becomes intuitive for duplicating, adding new, moving etc. It’s so much easier now to get everything setup.

Now I know how to activate the ghost notes too 😉

No so sure about making videos 😐 What exactly would you want to see?

My biggest problem is that I constantly switch from one app to another trying new things, starting new projects, hardly finishing anything. 😅

I am having trouble with the basics and don’t have much time to figure things out. A simple demo would probably teach me tons if you are willing. Ty

Where are these long presses implemented?.
    Ghost 👻 notes?. Where?.

Track name label / Clip & Slots / Clip Grid background / Scenes

    Ghost 👻 notes?. Where?.

Long press on a clip and choose set as background clip, open another clip. The notes of one you set as background clip should appear behind in grey. You enable/disable this feature in the (layer icon) of the composer status bar. You can also swap them using the swap buton at the right of the layer icon.

    Man, I’m missing out...

    Are you in TestFlight?

  • @sinosoidal Hello dear people at Imaginando! Thank you for this great tool and all the very useful improvements you are pushing out at an incredible speed and frequency.
I've been following this thread completely so far and maybe I missed this and it's already on the to do list but I'm still waiting for a feature that is actually standard in pretty much every piano roll: that the notes in the grid of the piano roll sound their respective pitch when moved, which should also apply to selected groups of notes i.e. chords as for example in Ableton's piano roll. Would make arranging melodies and chord progressions so much more intuitive and easier.

  • This is officially a mega thread

This seems like a good feature but how will it sound if you select multiple notes that doesn’t start at the same time?

  • @sinosoidal will you consider making lk an audio clip launcher as well or will that be a feature creep?

  • @fattigman said:

That would be absolutely amazing, but I assume it would be a huge undertaking for Imaginando.

I bet it would sell very well as IAP

Yes the final missing piece for the long awaited Dawless solution on iOS .
