  • I don’t know if it’s intentional or a bug but those black gaps look a bit weird, with bottom channels not aligned with clips:

@sinosoidal it’s on 7 Plus latest iOS and AUM.

If you press play you’ll see the meters there

Edit: oh, you actually pressed play, but the meters are not visible. That’s probably a bug

I don’t see that problem on my iPad, neither in standalone nor in AU inside AUM. Could be iPhone only

Ah ok thanks didn’t even noticed it before!!! Still seems weird as my eyes wants to fills those gaps. When clips are filled with notes and play pressed that looks ok however :D

  • So clips follow actions doesn’t allow to define a duration in bars/clip count? Can this be added as a new feature @sinosoidal ?

  • Hi guys, I try to use Bank LSB MSB and PC from LK matrix controller pane.
It is working but I receive random number of PC after correct one (double PC messages, but second one is wrong and random). So not possible to set correct patch on external synth. Bug?

And question, LK are you planned to add clip properties like MSB LSB and PC (which is sent once at start clip), regardless of controller lanes?

@sinosoidal : I noticed a (small) bug in LK: the FOLLOW ACTIONS for clips are not saved... (not in AUM-sessions, (state-saving), and not in LK-presets. I hope very much you can solve this.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Because I've a session with scene follow actions saved and I've tested with it before releasing.

We don't have that for clip actions indeed. We will add to our wish list.

Hey @sinosoidal - are CONTROLLER assignments supposed to save with the Project file ? I’ve tried a few times and ... it seems it doesn’t ?

We haven’t changed the way things are saved. We need to verify.

We haven't been able to reproduce this problem. Are you still having it? Please let us know how to reproduce. Thx!

I’ve had another go, and refined the flow a bit.

    1. Save project in standalone
    2. Open in AUv3
    3. Controllers missing 😬

    Here’s a video....

    Hope that helps....

Hey @sinosoidal thanks for the update. Thought you might like to know that this issue still persists... ^

We have been investigating this and the fact is, is not a bug.

Since the beggining of LK, we thought each module as being independent, with their own settings. This was long time ago before having MATRIX module with midi capabilities.

At the light of this design, MATRIX module shouldn't keep other modules settings in its presets. I think this actually needs to be rethinked. I would like to have other feedback on this.

    There are some constraints:

    • LK modules are sold as separate modules. Does it make sense the MATRIX module to rule the others?
    • If a preset saves the state of a module settings, maybe there should be a preset bar, available on all modules, which acts as a general preset that affects every module

It's kind of a redundancy since you can do it in a automataion lane, might not make sense. Let us think about it.

The new feature crop clip to selection (new toolbar button next to fit viewport) works fine 😊

    Description:

It will allow you to crop a clip to the selection. It allows you to quickly get rid of everything that is outside of the selection.

You drag to make a selection and it can include notes or not. The crop will adjust the start and end of the clip and delete any notes that are outside the area and include only those who are inside the area.

    Example:

    Brilliant feature. 👏

Agreed! And thanks @sinosoidal for still making it start in the right place in the bar.

The crop are actually doesn’t depend on the selected notes, but on the selection area represented by a blue-ish line underneath the loop indicator. You don’t even have to select any notes to be able to crop.

    That's right!

How about cropping what is selected in the loop markers, Ableton style..or maybe I’m doing it wrong?

That's even more strange because part of the code does not change for a long time and a lot of people here is using the clip follow actions.

Can anyone else confirm this is a problem?

I just made a quick test and clip actions were saved both from AU to Standalone and vice versa. They are also state-saved with my AUM sessions.

@sinosoidal Went off to discovering Drambo standalone for a while. AUM with LK was my starting point before, but I found so much inspiration in Drambo as AU host. Now finally getting into trying to integrate LK. It works great! Even the few months I hadn’t used LK, wow what a difference! So many improvements! Took me a while to find out all the new functions, it’s very impressive. Too many things to mention. I just want to say thank you. Here’s a short video of me enjoying the Controller module controlling various functions of Drambo. Never mind my lack of musicality, it’s just for fun.

I narrowed this 'not (state-)saving' down to the Clip-Follow Action -> NOTES: whatever action I choose, it's not saved. I hope you'll try this yourself. Also: when I choose Generate Chords or Generate Melody (in Clip-Follow Action->NOTES, the Range-rule in the clip-property Generate is not respected; I wish it would, because now it tends to generate very high notes/chords!

  • @sinosoidal just got the chance to have a proper go with the new scene follow actions. So much easier than my previous setup with midi note triggers.

Only problem I did see was that the stop follow action doesn’t seem to work. I only use it at the end of the song so can just set it not to loop instead, but thought it was worth mentioning 👍

Confirmed. @gregsmith Does LK also crash for you if you set the scene follow action to stop? I'm getting a couple of loops, like if there was no follow action and then LK crashes (AU inside AUM).

Hmm it didn’t crash for me but maybe I didn’t do it enough times.

@sinosoidal Yup exactly, as @AlmostAnonymous and @White are showing their screenshot and gif. With slideover, it's easy to drag and drop files. With EG Pulse, it's possible to drag and drop wav files onto the audio unit in AUM.

Does anyone knows EG developer? Is he around in the forum? I would like ask him some questions about the drop implementation.
