Neither do ponytails.
Unless you’re Cindy Wilson or Mark Lindsay.
Spending $2000+ on an ipad + a ton of apps that depreciates faster than a new car being driven off the lot is crazy. IMO of course. I still got hardware samplers from the late 80’s/ early 90’s that are worth more now than when I bought them. I got a box of ipads and iphones that are basically paperweights. Obviously an unpopular opinion on an iOS forum.
Full disclosure: I love ipads.
If it wasn’t for America, there wouldn’t be “dance culture” in Europe. And not just Detroit and Chicago either (Miami, LA, NYC, the midwest rave scene, etc etc etc). That’s just a fact. I would submit it was places like Berlin that took it from the underground and made it corny and cliche (Berghain). There hasn’t been any real innovations in techno since the 90’s. It’s just recycled material and motifs. Especially in Europe.
This might be one of the reasons:
Personally I'm not mad on the first two Smiths albums, but the last two are exquisite (IMO of course YMMV most certainly).
Here goes: Classical music can often be boring. Some of it was written by rich people who could afford the leisure to write, but weren’t anything special. (See: hymns)
This.
Kurt Cobain and Cher are responsible for mumble rap.
The music on early MTV (back when MTV actually played music) was one of the most diverse and creative musical periods ever.
There is a big difference between songs being popular and songs that are good. The two are not mutually exclusive, but particularly these days it seems most hit songs are not good musically.
Coffee is better with peanut butter blended into it.
High five! Having my morning Cup right now with a classic fold over pbutter sandy. I just take a little bite and wash it down with the joe. Will try your blend method tomorrow.
Some singer out of tune-ness is beautiful. And others like me, not so much. 😂😂
“Good” based on what? As I said earlier, there is no “good” or “bad” art. I don’t like artists that have sold millions of records. Do I have to say they are “good”? I think not. I also don’t have to like them. ✌🏼
I agree but may be your music needs changing to suit your voice?
One example, Hefner, I love the way Darren Hayman sings, often out of tune but it really suits their music.
Every pop song featuring a soprano sax solo sucks. Every single one.
Roger Waters was better after he left Pink Floyd.
This is a very therapeutic thread.
It’s the punching bag of the forum. 🤣
Same for me, but I still think "A Trick of the Tail" was their best album musically.
Pretty much everything David Bowie did after Heroes is crap...
Phew, luckily Google tells me that the sax solo in Walk On The Wild Side was a performed on a baritone sax! 🎷
Beautiful album, my favourite Genesis, with Lamb a close second.
The Heat Is On = tenor = phew+1
When The Going Gets Tough - definitely a baritone:
I think the entire planet agrees on that one.
True
You misspelled Scary Monsters ☺️
I can’t stand any music that as a horn section.
Nope. I like the fact that he contributed to the rise of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
+1
Also would consider his final album “crap”
(Wouldn’t!!!)
Ok, don’t put the bread in there 😳
