Godspeed @blueveek. I hope it will be too, but it's ok if it isn't. Bugs gonna bug. Look after yourself first, please, and maybe tune out the forum noise for a bit if it's not helping. It will be great. Looking forward to Launchpad Pro Mk3 integration right here, but not expecting it at release. Good luck!
It’ll be perfect! we can’t wait.
This is great news! Thank you for everything you’ve put into it!
In @blueveek we trust 🙏
I don't know if it's GREAT news...just gives me an excuse to not start too many projects!
Or, damn — maybe I need to learn LK in the interim!
In all seriousness, this is wonderful, and I've been the earliest Atom champion; this app has singularly changed how I make music.

@blueveek Many thanks for all your hard work. I have every faith in you, but make sure you keep healthy, too. All work and no play, as they say, makes Blueveek a dull boy! But, on a more selfish note, I'm an eager beaver for this one!
LK is proving an awesome distraction tbf
(Don't want to run off topic too far, but how tricky would it be to convert an AUM session with a bunch of Atom clips into an LK session? Meaning, can I record the midi patterns in the Atom clips into LK and then change the midi routing so LK talks to the various synths?)
Yes. Not tricky at all, just connect, record and reroute. Been trying it both ways.
I think the most elegant way of doing this is to use Ableton session files as an intermediary file format. I am planning to add an "export to Ableton" save option (as an alternative to MIDI exports and Atom session files formats), but likely after 2.0.
I’ve been dreaming of launching atom 2 clips with LK
You can use other sequencers (assuming they're sample-accurate) to arrange full songs this way.
If you go full-modular, you can use a few "master" Atoms build triggerable sub-parts of songs or live sets (sequences of other Atom clips) that can be grouped or launched together from a Launchpad. I think @winconway did a test of this and it surprised me too.
Pretty excited about this too. I’ve not been able to use AUM very well because of my lack of ability to grasp randomization, unfortunately. This is going to help me get more comfortable, methinks, so I can wade in a bit easier.
Sounds fantastic! I’m hoping I can use LK as a virtual launchpad on my iPhone to trigger clips on my ipad until I buy an actual launchpad.
Cool thing is Launchpad Mini MK3 works with Launchpad app perfectly!
Forgive me if this has been asked before but....
I believe Atom 2 will allow you to import midi files?
Will it allow you to import files from Piano Motifs that are say 64 bars of 6/8 in length? Or is it more just for shorter loops?
I appreciate until it’s out we won’t really know just trying to figure how to play these long midi sequences in AUM without having to dick around with photon, xequence, daws etc.
Thanks!!!
@NimboStratus
Woah!!! Will PM ❤️
In the meantime you can use LK for this.
Don’t use Ableton. I just wish you could be multitrack record from AUM to something to them automate etc
Same for me don't use Ableton just wait for a simple sample recorder and player with HQ timestretch
@NimboStratus @Jeezs : you don’t have to have anything to do with Ableton to use LK, it works absolutely fine as an Ableton-like clip launcher/sequencer all on its’ own just on iPad. It’s very powerful, if a bit bit head scratching at first. You’ll need to buy the Matrix IAP if you want to do anything useful with it, but all the others are optional.
Agree LK is perfect as a clip launcher I like it very very much.
As I write above just miss a simple sample player/ recorder. EG pulse could fill the gap but record function is not exposed in AU parameters and time stretch is not set by défault and quality is rather weak.
I reckon @elf_audio would be able to fill this gap, especially with the new Koala timestretch algorithms.
*1
LK also has Ableton export so if you do use Ableton you can start on iPad with midi then export and continue on desktop using LK to trigger clips, it’s a nice workflow I’m starting to use a lot more.
Any idea when is it going to be released? Too excited
