I know right
I’m all for a good deal but this feels just wrong. I know you made a commitment to the community with the upgrade path and I totally respect you honoring that, but I’m going to ask those who are able and willing to please skip the bundle.
The retail price on this is so generous for what we are getting. Just 10 of us prior owners grabbing the bundle, potentially will take $100 off the table for this incredible developer. I can see this changing music production workflows for years to come. It could just be the Rosetta Stone app that finally makes certain iOS DAW workflow annoyances a thing of the past within the piano roll, which is the heart and soul of the digital music making experience for many of us.
And also @blueveek, please consider having $10 be the intro price, and consider raising the normal price, so that you can at least pay some utility bills from all this hard work. Also, I get that CC is going to be a free update, but put an MPE, etc, IAP unlock on there. Those of us who want it will happily pay.
More money = more resources = more justification/motivation to keep creating.
Imagine if @blueveek could truly make a living with his iOS creations, what other amazing tools might we have on the platform.
I’ve paid $15-$20-$30 etc for apps that I’ve gotten much less mileage from than what’s on offer here, so I think a price at least that, would be more than fair and more than worth it.
I hope the community will support the spirit of this post and I see already that a few are gonna opt out of the upgrade which is great.
Ok.. Where is it?
How about we block posts to this thread until it's out, to reduce the anxiety around here? 😁
I couldn't agree more. It's clear this is going to be an IOS music essential. It would make me more than happy to pay for a price that reflects that. Anyway, don't wanna put pressure on the dev to raise his prices - but this is one of the few times I genuinely surprised by how inexpensive an app is! Especially one with the depth and beauty as this.
Whenever it lands, please let's migrate to a new thread! Agreed?
Can't wait. ATOM has been great for what it was but this is a new take on it and I'll gladly pay/support.
I think it’s pretty clear that version 2 of Atom is a very different beast from version 1. Well worth the price I would say. Applications like this require a vast amount of effort and skill to develop and I think we would all agree that @blueveek should be compensated accordingly.
The silence would only give me more anxiety
Like everyone else (apart from those who are skint, which is completely understandable), I own Atom 1 but will definitely purchase Atom 2 at full price. Can't wait for this one and will be checking the store every two minutes!!!
I support this !
me too. i wonder what the average review time is these days? hopefully we won’t have to wait till next week
so what clip launching controllers are compatible with atom 2?
Launchpad Mini Mk3
Launchpad X
Launchpad Pro Mk3
(for now)
Someone should tell @Samu
A late birthday present from Blueveek
I’m happy with the LaunchPad Pro MK3
It’s really nice to play and the chord mode is a blessing!
(The built-in sequencer is addictive, almost like ‘Drambo in Hardware’).
Will be nice to check out the AUM+Atom 2 flow but I really do wish it was integrated into BM3.
I’ve felt from day one when Atom was released that it feels like ‘Made for BM3’ no questions asked just embrace it!
I can always dream...
Hey Samu, is pro mk3 the only one that has the built in sequencer? > @Samu said:
Recording generators (and generally everything) inside BM3 into Atom2 is still nice
Yepp, and it’s also the only one with the chord mode.
Just about the only thing I miss on the pro is a built in metronome...
...but I guess Novation has to save something for Mk4
no is the mk3 pro and mk3 mini basically same accept for the size? i’m really thinking about buying one of these

Does that include the Launchpad Pro?
Sorry for any confussion
Question for the Atom Beta testers or blueveek.
Will the UNDO function in Atom 2 clear a track of all notes played after a first pass of recording?
In other words... start with a new empty track.
Record something on it.
Make a mistake and press Undo.
Will the track be completely cleared?
I noticed in Atom 1 that I couldn't get the Undo to function as a track clear after a first recording pass.
Looking forward to the new Atom.
@horsetrainer
the undo buffer treats each note as a separate event, so in your example above pressing undo will remove the last recorded note, and work backwards from there, not the whole take.
There are many advantages to this method, especially if you like to compose patterns by overdubbing MIDI notes in multiple passes whilst looping the pattern (for example recording drums one instrument at a time).
However, there are multiple other techniques for quickly clearing the pattern... for example (a) creating a new blank pattern to record an infinite number of alternative takes, or (b) double-tap select to select all notes then press delete to remove them all at once.
The alternative take concept sound cool. Thanks for the info.
and make breakfast!
Well, controller integration also works in BM3, or any other well-behaved host. The mechanism of picking the pad isn’t automatic like in AUM, but it’s not that big of a deal. In fact, @winconway knows some neat tricks with Atom 2 that can only be done well in BM3, he’ll probably share them sometime
There’s one more that might be useful in that list:
(a) creating a new blank pattern
(b) double-tap to select all notes then press delete
(c) tap the “pattern reset” button for the current pattern
Not sure how I missed this, but I can add it quickly to a 2.01 update.
Not automatically. Creating + advancing to a new pattern is just one button that does both together, so pretty quick.
Will atom 2 do clips similar to LK?
Ist there a list of what’s new?
A manual and tutorial videos are in the works.
